I went to Alex after reading all the great reviews. I had 7 VHS tapes that I wanted transferred to DVD. These tapes were from the early 90s. About an hour after dropping off the tapes, he called me to let me know one of the tapes was damaged. I asked him if he could repair it, which he did. I really appreciated the call because it showed good communication. He had my DVDs ready in about two days. They came out perfect. I will definitely go back to Alex if I find more VHS tapes lying around. The price is also great. To drop off tapes, pull into the alley and give him a call. I don't leave many reviews, but this guy (Alex) deserves a good one! Super nice, super easy, and great prices! He was also happy to answer all my questions over the phone prior to dropping off my tapes. $10 per tape, and the quality came out great! I handed over 6 tapes (5 mini dv's and one VHS), and they were done within 24 hours. Don't bother taking your stuff to a big company that charges you twice as much and only sends them out of state to yet ANOTHER company to handle, AND takes forever. lol. Take your stuff to Alex!! Alex was awesome. You have to call before you show up since he works out of a residence. He was great. I first went to Walgreens to get my wedding vhs transfered to digital and dvd. They quoted me a price of $40 and a delivery date of May 6th. 1 full month. I found Alex and he had my video digitized and transferred in 1 hour and only charged me $10. I will definitely be bringing my future video transfer service to him. Give him your business and don't go to a large company. The large companies charge you more, do a lazy job and take forever to deliver. He's very nice and quick with transfers. The quality was great and he also offered to transfer the digital files to me via dropbox or alternate file sharing service. read more

Highly recommend, a lot cheaper than Walgreens or Costco, and the service is much quicker. I went to Walgreens before taking my VHSs to Alex, and was shocked as to how long it would have taken with them (as they ship them out to be converted) in addition to the cost (over $350 for 8 VHS's/16 DVD copies from what I remember-may have been higher). Big thanks to Alex for fast, friendly service and a fabulous job of transferring 5 of my '90s-era VHS tapes to DVDs and USB flash drive... On the phone he was courteous and patient with my questions... The turnaround could not have been faster -- he processed and shipped everything back via USPS Priority Mail within a day after he received them, and did an excellent job of packing with care... And the video/audio quality was top-notch (at least for those pre-HD days), with each disk and file clearly labeled... Best of all, his prices can't be beat... I had checked out other digitizing services, and discovered that you'd have to pay at least double elsewhere, especially if you want MP4 files in addition to the DVDs (which you'll need if you want to import them into any editing program)...
