I wasn't in a rush, but wanted to get my childhood VHS recordings digitized since my father passed away. I kept looking at places and they either shipped the tapes out, or I had to pay extra for the format I wanted. I just wanted the video files on an external hard drive and Alex delivered just that. I dropped off 14 video tapes on Tuesday and said I didn't need them until May 23rd. He called me Wednesday and said that some of my tapes were just TV recordings and that I didn't have to pay for them and for me to look through them to double check if there was anything on there that we wanted later. He labeled all the tapes with the file numbers, and which ones were TV recordings. I picked up my tapes today along with MP4s on my external HD and I couldn't be happier to hear my dad's voice again! Alex is great. He converted 7 of my Hi8 tapes in to digital in about 3 days. I dropped off the tapes at his house and picked them up. Each tape is about 1.5 - 2 hrs and the quality on them is great. They are each about 2GB in size so a total of about 15gb for 7 tapes 2 hours each. I wasn't in a rush to get them done, i gave him a week however he just did them in 3 days. So he can handle bigger capacity jobs pretty fast. I will be bringing another round of 9 more tapes to him for the conversion. Also, when i came back to pick them up, i had him copy everything to a USB 3.0 (PC Compatible) hard drive and he did it in about 10 minutes while i just waited in my car and played candy crush. My tapes were really old and i was initially afraid that they would get messed up during copying. They haven't been touched for 15 years. He was able to give them back to me, no problem at all. AMAZING! Great, easy, convenient, & honest work. Just some words to summarize my experience with Alex. Got a little thrown off by the location and the "drive thru" seemed sketch but it wasn't bad at all and actually convenient. I had found some old tapes that I couldn't even find the VHS converters for anymore and decided to finally get with the times and transfer them to digital files onto my hard drive. He was able to do all that in a matter of days. I finally got thru watching them all and it came out greater than expected. Competitively priced, reliable, fast, and professional. QuickDigitals encoded 20 of my miniDV tapes to MP4 so I could import into Apple photos. Worked great. The videos look great (well, as good as standard def DV can be, we are spoiled by HD). I will continue to use this service and tell my friends. I had 6 VHS tapes from the late '80's/early 90's that I needed digitized before they disintegrated. Based on the yelp reviews (and $10/tape cost), I went with Quick Digitals and was impressed with the turnaround time and quality of the DVDs. When I first pulled up, I was a little wary; there's no storefront, and Alex met me in the alley behind an apartment complex to collect the tapes. He set my mind at ease, however, with his clipboard and paperwork and I'm glad I trusted my gut (and others' yelp reviews).
