OK. I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews for this shop. I've had two lenses and one canon video camera repaired here. The two lenses were a 70 to 200 EF mount 2.8 and an 85 mm F1.2 lens. All Canon. They've done an excellent job on repairing these lenses for me. And also did an excellent job on the C100 mark two video camera they repaired for me. The work has been efficient, timely, and I've never had to bring any Repair back to fix any problem. I think that a lot of people may have a problem with an increased price after diagnosis, but I think that's expected with camera repair. But as far as the work goes, they are very reliable and I'm very happy with using them for my Canon cameras and lenses. I hope this helps. Best of luck and thank you for your service. TL;DR I had a great experience with this shop. I hope I am not in another situation where I need to repair any cameras I have, but at least I have somewhere I had a good experience with. My advice is follow your gut if you're looking for a camera repair shop. The story: I made a risky purchase on Mercari for a DSLR and I ended up needing to have the camera repaired. There aren't many repair shops in the bay area and the ones I did get quotes for were very out of my expected price range. I found Camera Repair Center through a google search and reached out for a quote. I received a reasonable quote and sent my camera in for repair. I didn't read any reviews for Camera Repair Center prior to sending in my camera in and once I did read reviews my expectations for this camera situation heavily lowered based on what I read here on Yelp. My camera was received and I got an updated quote: The updated quote was higher than my initial quote but the person I was in talks with broke down what the diagnosis showed and the parts that were needed, which I was told was OEM parts. Verbatim text from email: "Rest assured that your unit will be meticulously cleaned, re-calibrated, and re-aligned to factory specifications as part of the repair process. We exclusively utilize original genuine OEM parts in all our repairs to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained. Our repair estimates cover the cost of parts, labor, as well as free ground return shipping within the U.S.A." The conclusion: After everything was completed, I received the camera about 1 week after we confirmed the repair and the camera came in a heavily padded box with my receipt. I got the camera put together and everything worked as intended. I probably only used it for a total of 20 mins after I got it up and running but no issues during that time. I wouldn't say it was a 5-star experience but I didn't experience what others have mentioned. I've used this company in the past with no major issues, but my most recent experience was absolutely HORRIBLE! I sent in a Canon 24-105 F4 lens for repair because the inner barrel was coming loose from the mounting bracket. I paid over $400 to have it fixed, but it was returned to me with the exact same problem. Since it was still under their "repair warranty," I sent it back in February 2025. After a month with no update, I reached out and was told the part was on backorder from overseas. I was patient and waited, even understanding potential delays caused by tariffs and the California fires. But after months of back-and-forth, the lens was finally returned in August--almost a year later--and it came back in worse condition than when I first sent it. Now, the barrel barely twists because it gets hung up inside, the lens throws connection errors on my camera, something rattles around loose inside, and a protective piece near the glass is missing--leaving it adhesive exposed to dust and debris. I am extremely dissatisfied. After spending significant time and over $400 on a vital piece of equipment for my business, I received a lens that is essentially unusable. Camera Repair Center aka Eric's Camera repair is the ONLY place in the US that I could locate to repair a defective Sony DVCAM player. I shipped it and then I read all their very scary, negative reviews. I was concerned, but pleasantly surprised when the unit was repaired as promised (although it took over 3 weeks total). A couple issues: 1. They will NOT speak to you by phone. You cannot connect to a live person. Their business phone will only direct you to their website or email. 2. They insisted on taking payment through Zelle, which has no financial protection. I refused (based on my bank's advice) and paid using Paypal. They also charged $100 more than their original quote, but still, I would use them again if the need arose. They fixed the Sony player when no one else could. I am happy. read more

On April 14 I was contacted by CRC and was told it would cost $364.25 to repair my lens. I sent them the funds that same day. Today is May 7 2025 and I have received my lens back in the same box I sent it in and very properly packed. The lens looks and works like brand new. I think these lenes go for about twice what I paid, however I now have a perfect lens in the original box and am enjoying it totally! i will definitely use the services for CRC again. I'm an owner of a video business and have a fleet of Canon XA-10 cameras. They're old (released in 2012), but in my opinion, the best run-and-gun cameras ever created. If they had a 1" sensor and could film in 4k in the same form factor, they'd be perfect (paying attention Canon?!). Anyway... I dropped one of the cameras and the LCD stopped working. Had another camera where the internal battery died. Canon wanted over $1200 to fix those issues... so I looked into other options. Quick Google search revealed camerarepair.com. I submitted a repair request for both cameras... $200 to fix the LCD on one camera, $100 to put in a new backup battery on the other. I thought that was incredibly fair and blindly shipped the cameras off without hesitation or doing any research on the company. About a week later, my cameras had arrived and Camera Repair Center got back to me and confirmed the $100 for the battery swap... but the LCD issue was something else (wasn't actually the LCD, but a circuit board inside the camera that was damaged). That increased the quote on that camera to around $290. Still fair, I accepted. Less than three days later, I got an email that repairs were complete and the cameras were ready to be shipped back once payment was completed. To save a few bucks, they offered the option to pay with Zelle for a discount on the charges (about 10% off). That was the first moment that gave me pause about the company. It was then I did some research about them and found some terrible reviews on Reddit and here on Yelp. My heart sunk... I thought I was potentially being scammed... maybe lost my cameras forever. With no other choice, I decided to pay with Paypal instead (so at least I'd have a chance at recovering my funds if things didn't go as planned). I emailed them and asked for a link to pay with Paypal and they got back to me within hours with a link. I sent payment and crossed my fingers. The next day I received an email that my cameras had shipped and tracking was provided. That was a bit of a relief, but I still didn't think I was out of the woods until I had the cameras in my hands, repaired and functioning. Fast forward a few days and the camera arrived, safe and sound. I fired them up and the LCD was working again! That camera was good as new. I then charged the other camera's backup battery for 24 hours (as Canon suggests) and, bam, that's working like a champ. Everything went great! I sympathize with other folks that may have had a bad experience, but I couldn't have been more pleased with the service I received. My newer cameras, that are worth thousands, will go back to Canon directly for any servicing. Canon Factory Repair is very fair with their newer equipment, especially if you have a pro membership with them. But for older equipment, like my XA-10's, where parts are no longer readily available, I'll look toward Camera Repair Center for my repair needs in the future without hesitation. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS I sent in my Canon 1D X for repair, which took 2 months. This process was frustrating due to poor communication, which should have been a sign of things to come. Upon receiving my repaired camera, I began to use it completely as normal. Then, while still under the Company's Warranty Window, out of nowhere, the 1D X stopped working in exactly the same way it did before. I informed the Company and sent it in for the same repair on September 26, 2024. Since then I have heard nothing other than: "Your request has been received. Camera repaired but path was pricey and long. I should have been suspicious of their low repair estimate ($112) and their claim of quick turnaround on repairs (5 to 7 business days). Took off one star because the actual cost was more than double the estimate ($234) and took another star off because it took almost 3 times as long for camera return (17 working days - 23 May to 12 Jun). Full story. My decade plus old Canon point & shoot camera (Powershot G9) suddenly had a 'lense error' and wouldn't retract making it unusable. Called local camera shops looking to get it repaired. None did inhouse repairs. Looked online and found Camera Repair Center website. Applied for their free online estimate which showed up the next day. Followed their simple instructions for shipping the camera then soon got the real repair estimate - higher than expected but felt committed and they had my camera. So waited, waited, waited etc. Finally heard from USPS that a return tracking number had been issued on 7 June but that they hadn't yet received the item to be shipped. Finally notified on 12 Jun of actual shipment; ultimately delivered 13 June. Camera looks shiny new and, while still not fully tested, appears to work again. However, in retrospect I wouldn't use this camera repair shop located on W Glenoaks Dr, Glendale, CA 91201 again. This shop goes by 2 names online: Glens Camera Repair and Camera Repair Center Inc and has 2 sets of reviews on Yelp (one averages low 3 stars the other a solid 1 star rating). My reasons: First, I didn't do due diligence by checking their business reviews online but instead nly read the 'testimonials' on their fancy website. Then I based my decision to repair my old camera upon the company's quick but (I didn't know att) lowball repair estimate of $112 (saying, "lens drive unit requires replacement") and their website claims of quick turnarounds for the repair. Turns out the actual repair price ($234, saying, "lens drive unit and mounted circuit board require replacement") more than doubled their estimate (oh, they certainly caveated their repair estimate so you couldn't argue - had there been anyone to talk with) and the repair took 3 weeks (from when they received the camera until I received notification it was actually being shipped back). Also, there were no updates on why the repair process and camera return wasn't progressing. Turns out my initial thought to go on E-bay and buy another model of the same camera (so I didn't face a new model camera learning curve) would likely have been cheaper AND quicker. Found many 'mint' condition Canon G9 cameras on E-Bay listed from $175 to $225 - true, some were from overseas and warned of up to 10 day shipping delays from Japan. In the end, I now have an operating camera - just hope it lasts. read more

This place is a giant scam, please do yourself a favor and DON'T DO BUISNESS WITH THEM. You will be lured in by the initial low quotes, only to have them jack the quote up once they have your lens. They ship it back with questionable packing, and may damage your product on the way back. They fixed one issue, and created another on shipping it back, that they said they would repair "no charge" only to say the damage was not covered and I owed them another 400 bucks. Horrible experience. I sent in Canon GX9 camera for repair in December 2023. In late December, I was told the camera was repaired but was "awaiting a quality inspection". In February 2024, I requested an update, and got the same "waiting for a quality inspection". I requested an update in April and got no response. I just sent in another update, and as of today (5/6/24), have not heard from them. I don't know to get my camera back. Nobody should do business with them. read more

I requested a quote for internal lens cleaning, they offered the services for a very low price and once they received the camera they came up with a very expensive quote, saying that the CMOS low pass filter and the focus sensor were damaged. My fault was not checking the reviews previously, as these people do the same every time. Reading the reviews I realized that if I didn't pay the surcharge or if I canceled the repair order they would probably damage the camera before shipping it back to me, so I had to pay for my hostage camera. After received the camera back I took it to a different repair center and guess what: They never replaced anything because the camera was working correctly when they received it. These guys are shady and unethical. Save your money and run from them. I sent my 5d mark iii for them to repair and they claimed they have to change another part to increase the cost of repair. For testing they delayed my camera for a weekend and increased the actuator count by 1000+. Anyway four months later the same problem occurred again and they will not fix it. read more

I sent my Sony Handycam camcorder FDR-AX33 to CRC in July 2024 due to it being out of focus. The estimate was around $130. I sent in my camcorder but due to emails going to junk mail, I thought they didn't reply to me, so I called to confirm that my camcorder was recieved. They had emailed me a final estimate for $329. I thought it was better for me to buy a new one but my camcorder was special to me and would be passed onto my teenage son who love using it to capture his school events. Also, a new one would cost more. I decided to agree for the repair. Then I received an email that a part was back ordered from overseas. I became skeptical and searched online for reviews of this company and found that there were many others who gave only 1 star review with similiar complaints of poor communication, no response, no returned products. I only found a few good reviews. I prayed and hoped this was not a scam. I kept my communication with them, asking for updates. They finally emailed me that the repair was completed. I took a leap of faith, paid the final estimate cost by Zelle for a $15 discount. I emailed confirmation of my payment and they responded promptly that my camcorder was getting prepped to ship back. I had to be on top of communication with respect and not being uncivil with them. They must be pretty busy, being a small business in the repair industry. They provided me a tracking number and I tracked my product being shipped back to me. I received my camcorder sooner than I thought, this Aug 2024. They packed my camcorder nicely with bubble wraps all around. They even polished, clean my camcorder. My teenage son was surprised how clean it looked. My son and I tested the camcorder and the focus works properly now. Besides the poor communication, they did render services we paid for. Took my lens to this place to evaluate what is wrong with it, if anything, and the guy told me the auto focus sensor was bad. It would cost $229 to fix and he already charged me $45 to look at it. I took it to another reputable shop in Pasadena and they told me there was nothing with it. If it was broken it wouldn't show numbers moving. It definitely showed them moving. They are trying to get you pay for something you don't need. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more

GO TO THEM. I sent my point and shoot Canon A510 in the late spring because Canon does not support their products but instead send you a link to buy new at very high prices. There was a little confusion as to where my camera was but-it was found and arrived back the day before I left on a trip. I was at Gila Cliff Dwellings when I realized that this was NOT my camera but a new-ish camera. The wear on the buttons was not there, the sound of the lens coming out was gone. It was shiny new and even the strap pattern was a little different. When I got home I called them. The guy said "That is your camera". I said that it wasn't my camera and I was afraid someone would get my camera and see that it was worn. He kept insisting that it was my camera. Then he read me a list of the buttons that were worn, the flash that was dark, etc, etc. Things I hadn't noticed. He said "See the seam around the camera? A new body was put on your camera. The reason the strap is different is because a new strap came on the new body. We get the bodies from Canon." I couldn't believe it. Wow! And it was under $200 which is what I expected to pay. They updated the whole thing, cleaned the spot off the lens. " CMOS sensor low pass filter and focus sensor of your equipment require replacement." My camera has been thru extreme temperatures and has been on many trips with me. I was even able to take it this year. And it works like a charm. Thank you Camera Repair Center! No thank you Canon. I have an issue with not being able to use my scanner now with new windows. I will fix it myself. No more Canon products. read more

I just want to say that I actually confused them with another repair shop. My research skills were off that day, but this is where I took my lens. Email quote was $142 for an issue with the manual focus ring on a 70-200 Canon. Upon dropping it off I was charged a $25 diagnostic fee. Ok. After a couple of days, via email - they don't answer phone calls, I was quoted a total repair cost of $198.26 not including tax. The one thing I need to ay here is that they did good work. They fixed the manual focus ring. The AF still works as it did before and they cleaned it all up since they had it apart. They main thing here is that these guys are like IT techs. They don't want to talk all day with people. They communicate best by email. They have a job to do and they just want to do it. It may take time, and that's what made me give 4 stars. I like to get fast and concrete answers when I ask a question. They don't work like that, but they do work and git r dun. Time will tell how well everything holds up and I thank them for their patience in putting up with my emails. read more

While it seems as if they do actually repair some cameras, this business is also clearly a scam. They pretended to repair my camera and then sent back an empty package, claiming it had been lost in transit. On discussion with UPS, the package was empty when given to UPS. The process of getting a replacement was a nightmare, involving dozens of back and forth emails and arguments. Eventually, after threats of complaining to the Better Business Bureau, legal threats through California small claims court, opening credit card disputes (ALWAYS PAY BY CREDIT CARD), etc. they yielded and sent me a camera. It was a horrendous experience, and by looking at other reviews, they clearly regularly scam people. read more
