My universal remote to the TV stopped working. The main button stopped functioning. I found Smart Electronics Repair on the Internet and spoke with Cindy. I dropped off my Breville Barista Pro to have them fix it. I was having an issue with the group head not dispensing hot water only cold . He spent almost 10 days diagnosing and troubleshooting the electronics as well as even descaling the machine . With his old school knowledge of electronics and professionalism with these machines he unfortunately was not able to find the issue with it . He suggested best that would be to contact the manufacturer . I contacted the manufacturer for his suggestion and explain to them the issue and after them doing a troubleshooting as well on the machine with me on the phone they agreed to waive the cost and said they would do a one-time service and repair on my machine which I'm very grateful for. Cindy was the point of contact and she kept me up to date on all the updates he was trying to do and he genuinely tried the best he could to get the machine to work while it was in his shop . I highly recommend anyone with a electronic device bring it here and they will give you a honest estimate. Took my Kitchenaid food processor to get repaired there in December. The gentleman there didn't seem to know it was the holidays because he said 2-3 days and I asked again "so, Christmas?" He changed it to a vague time frame but I did get a text a few weeks later in mid-January to come pick it up after being charged 85 bucks for the repair. He even plugged it in and pressed the button to show that it was fine with nothing in it. I finally tried using it and after a couple of turns it just died out. No loud pop or anything it just died. I called them again and asked if they had a guarantee/warranty. I was told by Cindy it was 30 days and I explained that while I did pick it up more than 30 days this was my first time using it since I picked it up and it stopped. She told me to bring it in and take it from there. I dropped it off again and about a week later it was ready for pick up, it was fixed with no additional charge. read more

Wish I'd known about GSH years ago, before I e-recycled a bunch of things that I now know could've been saved if only I'd been aware this place existed! What a menagerie of items I brought to GSH: my Cuisinart coffeemaker, a Hunter air purifier whose manufacture wouldn't honor the warranty when it arrived broken out of the box and, finally, a fabulous vintage RCA tube-style suitcase record player that was recently gifted to me by some amazing friends. You may wonder why I'd pay to repair a coffee machine, but this is one of the pink ones they don't make anymore and I'd spent years trying to find one!  I was so disappointed when it started leaking when I'd only had it a couple months, but was determined to keep it. GSH fixed everything in a week!  All three items work like new for less than $400 (and nearly half of that was the stereo, as parts for that are old and probably hard to find, I'd imagine). The technician was friendly and really seems to love what he does.  I hope he takes great pride in his work, because he's very good at it!  He demonstrated each product before I left to show that they were functioning properly. Cindy in the office was a pleasure to deal with and kept me apprised at every step of the way.  Free estimates and good communication on timing. I have a large SVS home theater subwoofer enclosure with a built-in 900w amplifier that I bought for my way back in 2004. After 18 years of amazing performance, the unit stopped turning on. Since the unit was so old, SVS no longer makes replacement amplifiers and advised that I look for a local repair shop. I spoke with a few "pro audio" repair shops due to the high power-rating but they turned me away since it was a home unit. GSH seemed to mainly specialize in smaller home electronics but given my predicament I called and they said they could take a look. The tech ran tests and found the short that fried many of the components of the amplifier. He was able to replace them all (extremely intricate work) and demonstrate that everything was working. I got home and reinstalled the amp back in the enclosure and my house's foundation is rumbling once again with crisp, precise bass! Very grateful to GSH! read more
