My Breville Barista Express was bought last year, and after a few months, the grinder broken down. Many visiting friends all fuddled with trying to fix the grinder (one even took apart the grinder, being a retired mechanical engineer professor from Adelaide): after a half day's work, nothing fixed, so I was resigned to pronouncing the grinder DEAD. We ordered a budget TUNI G1 to substitute. Two days ago, I saw on internet Otto and I felt this is the chance to fix the Breville problem: I called and brought the machine in. Amazing! I brought my breville here because the water couldn't come out at all. It's so hard to find a place to fix breville in LA and I was a little worried how much it would cost to get it fixed. I found this place on google and read about the reviews so I wanted to give a try before getting a new espresso machine. So I made appointment with the owner and brought my breville in. The owner briefly checked and told me it would probably because of the clogged pipes. So I left it there for about 10 days because the store has a lot of brevilles that needed to be fixed. After about 10 days, the owner texted me and sent me videos about based on what issues my breville had. And showed me it's working fine now. I have a Breville Oracle Touch espresso machine that had issues, so I called and spoke with Otto. It was an informative chat--I got the sense he really knew his stuff. I was happy to find him, though the price he quoted seemed significantly higher than other repair shops I'd contacted or found online. From our conversation, I understood that this was the minimum cost just to bring it in, with additional charges for parts if needed. Despite the price, his expertise and the lack of other nearby Breville repair options convinced me to give him a shot. When I brought the machine in, Otto quickly diagnosed one issue (there were more) and got to work. He repaired the machine, did a thorough cleaning of the machine (descale, group head clean, grinder clean out, etc.), and I was able to pick it up in less than a week. I've sent my machine to Breville (when it was under warranty) and tried another repair tech in Burbank/Glendale (a disaster of an experience). This was, by far, the best, most professional, and most customer-service-oriented repair I've had--by a huge margin. When I picked up my machine, Otto walked me through everything he'd done, shared maintenance tips, and even brewed me the best espresso I've had from my machine. I couldn't recommend him more highly--and I'm a tough, ahem, discerning customer! The total cost for two service hours and a replacement part ended up being less than his initial quote. This is definitely the place you should take your coffee machine if it has any trouble. I own a Breville Barista Touch and I initially called because it was not extracting coffee. Otto walked me through a self-diagnostic because I am about 65 mile from his store. It initially worked but that was more than enough to make sure I would go to him if it had any issues in the future. Unfortunately, it was a short lived fix and I needed to drive to his shop to get it repaired. Otto and his wife are really helpful and seem like great people. It has been about a month since the repair and the machine is still running great. They did a great job fixing the issue and doing a tune-up of the machine. I emailed Ottomatic because my Breville Barista Express had stopped heating up. I had tinkered with it before and while I was able to do my own fixes in the past, some of them had definitely been extremely time-consuming and difficult and I wanted to let a professional handle it this time around. I spoke with Otto and he seemed to immediately know the issue and how to fix it. I ended up dropping it off and he was extremely informative. Told me a lot about what typically caused the issue I was experiencing and how the issue could potentially cause more issues down the line. When I dropped off my machine he had a few others he was working on around his shop. They were all very different, some were newer but one was 14 years old, and I think it speaks volumes about how knowledgable he is. My machine was ready way ahead of schedule. He also took the liberty to fix several other issues with the machine that he found (at no extra charge) and also gave me lots of advice and recommendations for when I do decide to upgrade in the future. My machine worked like a charm after his service. I'm happy to have a reliable technician to call not only when my Breville is on the fritz, but also when my future machines have issues as well. If you have a Breville Bambino Plus chances are you have a milk temperature gauge that is on its way to breaking. That's what happened to me. I thought I was out 500 bucks and buying a new machine because it's hard to get the part and tricky to install. I also thought my 500 dollar espresso maker was on its way to the landfill. I emailed him this morning, describing the problem asking if it was something he could repair. He got back to me in less than 2 hours suggesting I try unclogging the tip as they can get clogged using a thin, long pick to clean. Our Breville Espresso machine started to act up and give us some fits. A few months ago I found a workaround but this time the same issue as before kept persisting. Otto and his team were recommended to me and I could not have asked for a better process. From the beginning Otto was quick to communicate and offered me to drop off the machine ASAP. I arrived at the appointment only to find out that during the trip something may have been knocked loose because our machine was working perfectly. Many do not work with this machine- Otto does! Very gifted repairman. Takes your call on his time-off, provides timely updates, and is clearly talented at what he does. We really appreciated the entire over-haul of the machine. Not only does the issue get resolved (our Oracle Touch stopped tamping) , but the entire machine gets a look-over and internal cleaning as well as replacement of minor parts. Brevilles are very costly machines- we were told by Breville our issue was "unrepairable" yet Otto went above and beyond in reinstating a fairly new machine to perfect order.
