Nikita came to my house today to fix a problem with my dishwasher since it wasn't working properly. He found out that there were a few ceramic chips inside the drain area causing the mechanism of the dishwasher to stop working properly. He cleared it out and also removed any debris in the drain. After that, the dishwasher worked perfectly. He tested and stayed for a couple cycles to make sure the dishwasher was properly operating. I just had Lerman Appliances out to repair my dryer - which they did quickly and efficiently. This company is fantastic. They have kept my appliances working and in top condition for over 30 years (including my 30 year old dryer.) My favorite story is when they came out the day before Thanksgiving to repair my stove. Sears Repair had told me it would be an $800 fix and then never showed up. I called Lerman in a panic and they showed up the next day, looked over the stove and told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I asked how they got it to work and was told they just jiggled and tightened some wires. Charged me the basic service/diagnostic fee. Lasted another 4 years until they had to come back to replace the electronic panel. to date they've serviced my dryer, washer, refrigerator and dishwasher. What a rip off! I called for a oven repair. The part was 92 dollars, fair. For the labor they wanted 252 dollars. For 15 minutes of labor they wanted that much. Tha't higher than a mechanic or a lawyer. We had to pay a 100 dollar service fee for them to come out. They are the biggest thiefs around and they can choke on the hundred dollars. My GE Profile refrigerator (over 20 years old) was not cooling/freezing properly so I called Lerman Appliances based on their Yelp reviews and inclusion in the San Gabriel Valley Neighbor2Neighbor. Arthur arrived on time and went to work. He had a difficult and lengthy time carefully disassembling the unit to reach the coils and the defrost thermostat. The coils were covered with frost which he painstakingly removed. He also installed a new thermostat. He reassembled the unit and cleaned everything up, Two and a half hours after arriving, the unit was back to normal. I feel I was charged a very fair price. I am very happy with my overall experience with Arthur and Lerman Appliances. read more

If I could leave a "O" I would! The first complaint is: I was supposed to meet the technician and was running 10 minutes late. Instead of waiting for me I had to have a tenant let him in the laundry room and give him quarters to try and start the washer. Be prepared to pay $120 one way or the other because the minute he arrives he's walking away with at least $120 or their service fee is $249 if you have them do any work. You will get gouged for any parts. In my case the part markup was 70%! Don't believe the reviews about fairness - GO ELSEWHERE! You've been warned! read more

I was having a problem with my very old Gaggenau stove top. I tried calling Gaggenau directly, but they simply referred me to seemly random service companies who just told me the necessary parts weren't made anymore. Then, after reading a lot of good reviews, I called Lerman. They are a family-owned company and they searched around for me and found a 3rd-party replacement part. But there were two versions and it wasn't clear which would work, so they offered to just buy both, then return the one they didn't use. Perfect. They arrived on time, knew exactly what they were doing, and left everything clean and neat after they finished. Our Asko dishwasher was not draining properly and after two visits by our plumber I determined we needed an appliance repair in this situation. I called Lerman and was able to get a same day appointment and our technician Valentin was very thorough to diagnose the issue and am happy once again to have a functioning dishwasher. They were super straight about what was wrong with the machine -- bearings in the tub were gone. They told me it wasn't worth fixing and after 16 years, time to buy a new one. They could have tried to sell me on getting it fixed, which would have been more than the price of a new machine. They gave me very helpful info on what to look for in a new machine and spent time with me. I checked their recco's on NYT Wirecutter and they were spot on. I've been working with Lerman Appliances since 2018 for my washer/dryer and dishwasher. They've been timely with getting appointments scheduled. On time arrivals within the 3 hour window and a 10 minute heads up that they are arriving. This time Ricardo (I hope I have the name correct) came out to service the washing machine. He went above and beyond. Discovered a broken part that he had ready to replace (because the company does their due diligence before they arrive by doing their best to diagnose over the phone and with text, email, photos etc). The person who came to my house was perfectly nice and pleasant, but not the most honest. He correctly diagnosed that the problem with my refrigerator was that the compressor was broken and then told me that the part was probably still under warranty. However, he said once I got the part, it would be 3-4 hours and $850 for him to do the repair (or he could supply the part and it would cost closer to $1150). Five minutes of diagnosis cost me $100 (plus a 3% credit card processing fee that I was not warned about - I just saw it after my card was charged). I called LG and they sent someone out the next morning - because I was still under warranty, both the parts and labor were free, and the entire job was completed in one hour, not 3 or 4. read more
