I had a dryer that was less than 6 years old. It stopped drying. I waited a long time to call since the last 2 repair companies ripped me off. This Repair man did an amazing job replacing all of the necessary pieces, cleaning up after himself and most importantly, cleaning out the dog hair and lint that was in the dryer. I foster dogs and have four of my own. I accumulate a lot of dog care in my home. Luckily, the service provided the quality of the work and the value for what I paid was well worth the weight. Replaced the igniter on our old Tappan oven. Repairman had availability earlier than the appointed time, so the repair was done sooner than I expected. Showed up with the part and had the repair finished in under an hour. Flat labor rate for house call and ignitor replacement was $245, plus $80 for the part. I've done this replacement myself twice before, paid $75 online for the part and it took me a couple of hours to figure it out. Our 20 year old garage refrigerator stopped cooling. It was full of frozen food I had made for disabled relatives and I needed it fixed as soon as possible. I sent a yelp inquiry just before 4:00pm asking for a quote and Progress Appliance responded within 5 minutes. Dmirty was the very nice man who said I needed a new pump for my washing machine. He did not have one in his truck for my particular brand so he left for about 40 minutes and brought one back. He then took apart my entire washing machine, put in the new pump, cleaned it and got it ready to work all in one morning! I called this very good service. I would call them again because he also told us we needed a better plug and what type to buy. He also told us to buy a particular type of washing machine cleaner to keep the mold out of the washing machine. He did not have to do all of that so I feel he went above and beyond his duty. read more
