I would start my dishwasher and then the light would just go to blinking and it wouldn't work. I called up this company because they "had good reviews" they sent out a man who -- from the moment he walked into my house -- was rude, disrespectful, and insulting, starting out by insulting me for not having bought an expensive dishwasher. And then, he thinks because I'm an old lady he can say and do whatever he wants. Then he tells me the only reason my dishwasher didn't work was because *I didn't close the door*. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but really,. *I'm not stupid*. I HAD closed the door. So tonight I closed the door 15 times and started the dishwasher 15 times and it still doesn't work. But they took my $85 just to tell me I'm stupid and don't know how to run a dishwasher. I would *NEVER* recommend this company to anybody for anything, and when I called to complain about it, all I got was a song and dance, and the offer to send the same jerk out to see me, AFTER I had already told him I don't want that human being in my house ever again.. Disrespectful to the point of being , ready to rip off somebody who's on a unlimited budget, unkind, but more than happy to take my money. If you have $1 million house they might treat you right. If you have anything less than that you're a piece of crap warmed over. I'm not that hard to work with. I'm not an unreasonable person. This was egregious. This review is long overdue. Arthur (pronounce Artur) has been our home appliance guy since we bought our house 22 years ago (2002). He has fixed our washing machine several times which we were able to keep for 20 years until we finally had to let go based on his advice. Too much to repair it. He has repaired our dishwasher several times - it is 15 years old. He has worked on our stove (22 years old) and he has worked on our refrigerator (22 years old). That's a lot of appliances that we have managed to keep around our house long past their expected life spans saving us literally thousands of dollars. Today, I called him about something that broke in our fridge. He came over same day (as always), took some notes and now he's looking for the part we need. Since the fridge is so old, they don't make that part but he thinks he might find it somewhere. While he was here, he helped me find more parts that were broken in our dishwasher (where the silverware goes), he balanced our stove so that when I cook, the oil in the pan doesn't immediately go to one side of the pan and cleaned our stove burners so that we have more flame. I contacted A&E regarding a GE dishwasher that was not starting. I liked that when I called I actually spoke with a human. Arthur told me that he couldn't make it for several days as he was booked. I agreed to meet him on Saturday, and on Friday late morning he called to say he was in the area and could come in 15 minutes. Yeah!!! He was very professional took the machine out and checked all the connections explaining that there was power going to the circuit board but no power at the circuit board, informed me that it would not be cost effective to fix (can buy new one for same amount, even offered where to buy new one) Put the dishwasher back together and to all of our surprise it now works. Of course he can't warranty it, and stated maybe it will work a couple of years, who knows. I paid the service charge and he was on his way. Told my tenant, that it was working but didn't know for how long, and with that I know next time replace it. He also suggested NOT TO BUY GE. Arthur is incredible. My refrigerator was heating up and the freezer was icing up. I first had a local Altadena company come out who replaced the controller and dumped boiling water to unclog the vents but never really inspected anything else. This repair lasted 3 days - and the repair guy said he hurt his ankle and couldn't come back for a few days. Ugh. I then found Arthur and he came out the next morning, found the thermostat had died (he showed me the part), replaced it, and checked a few more quirks I've noticed. He also cleaned up the shoddy work the Altadena company left. And he did so at a reasonable price. Next time I need any appliance fixed, I'll just go straight to Arthur. Artur saves the day, AGAIN!! My awesome KitchenAid dishwasher was doing the flashy-light error, & I was desperate, with a house guest arriving last night! But Artur came and rescued us! A long time ago, a plumber had disconnected the air gap, and Artur replaced it, cleaned the garbage disposal, and restored my brilliant dishwasher to perfect condition! Arthur returned my call immediately after selecting him from the Home Advisor website. He arrived within the hour and was able to identify a leaking water hose with our KitchenAid fridge. The defective hose was replaced with a much better quality hose. Arthur then cleaned the compressor coils to minimize any future wear and tear on the compressor. Arthur was amazing! Repairing the washer was on our list of things to do, and figuring that we'd have to set a long term appointment, we called one Saturday at noon. He offered to come out at 2pm THAT DAY!!!! He came over, very professional, wearing a mask and gloves and very conscious about social distancing, and proceeded to fix our washer. He did such an amazing job repairing the old washer for an affordable price that we didn't need to buy a new one! (We were strongly considering it before calling him.) Repair man finally showed up. No communication from him at all until he showed up about 6:15. He said he was not given info to call. Tried to contact the # Lowes gave me several times. Man answered with a "hello" and was very rude. He said they were not the repair people and offered no other # to call. Said to call Lowes back. Told him I'd been on hold, with loud distorted "music," far longer than I needed to be. Repairman showing late cause me not to be able to go to church, for which I was ready when he pulled out. Communication with customer concerning time was very poor. E-mails were not accurate. Have no problem with the repair man, who was very nice and efficient, but the customer service for this company is horrible and costed me a whole day of waiting for someone to show up or some decent communication.
