    1968 Magnavox Colonial Stereo Console
    The K.

When my grandparents passed away in 2020 I spent 5 years trying to restore their 1968 Magnavox stereo console. At first I tried bringing it to other repair shops, but anyone who knows how to fix these are either deceased or out of business because of age. Therefore my friend and I had to do our best over the years in FB groups and internet forums trying to make sense of the schematic and replaced the capacitors, resistors, transistors etc. Somewhere along that way I made some mistakes and was completely stuck. Nothing worked anymore. I gave up, then I saw a friend on my birthday who told me that Joe fixed his receiver from the 60s and was confident he could fix my circuit board. I brought it to Joe and a week later it was fixed! He showed me a bunch of the things I did wrong in the repairs and was very helpful. Now this console should work for another 50 years and I can pass down to my daughter one day Highly recommend Stone Electronics for any of those impossible repairs - Joe can do it! Just make sure to get a schematic when you bring in your unit to make things easier

Our audio technica record player stopped working via our speaker system a few months ago. I couldn't troubleshoot it via the company directly so decided to try Stone Electronics. Joe was amazing - honest and upfront. He fixed our record player and restored it to brand new condition. Quoted us a fair price and delivered on it exactly. And had it read in 48 hrs!!! So hard to find this kind of service for tech these days - I will definitely use Joe and Stone Electronics again in the future!!

If you are a music lover and you need an expert, I highly recommend Stone Electronics. I am so grateful for the work done to repair my record player. I had been trouble shooting the issue I was having for months and in three days, they had fixed it and it looked better than new. Hearing the sound again the way it should be is hard to quantify but worth more than every penny. It is hard to find someone who has the craft and cares enough to take the time to repair older pieces. Stone Electronics can be trusted with what is most precious.

Fidelity Phantom 6100 Electronic Chess Set

I've owned many computer chess sets in my day but my favorite is the 30 year old Fidelity Phantom. Sadly, it had an accident and stopped working. I was heart-broken and looked everywhere for somebody to repair it. I could find no one. The Geek Squad at Best Buy was useless and no one I contacted would take on the job. Then I got unbelievably lucky and found Joe! He took on the job with a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm and in 4 days my dear chess computer was fixed. I can't recommend Joe highly enough! He's a wizard at what he does and is a very honest and honorable person. I would take any electronic equipment to him for repair. A+, 5 stars!

Marantz 2226B after Joe at Stone Electronics repair. It is in use every day.

I brought my Marantz 2226-B to Stone Electronics for repair. I'd bought the receiver at a thrift store a decade and a half earlier when everybody was getting rid of their "big stereos", had sprayed it out and enjoyed it for quite a while. The lights didn't all work but the receiver sounded really good. But when one side started going out intermittently, and the sound started to degrade, I had to start using another receiver. I finally got around to trying to find a shop that could repair my old Marantz, found Stone Electronics, called up, spoke to Joe, brought it in, and a couple weeks later it was ready. It sounded, and still sounds, great, better than ever. I'm listening to a Beethoven piano and cello sonatas on it right now and they sound great. And all the lights light up, and it looks great. It's taken me a real long while to get around to writing this review, but hopefully better late than never.

    Sony TC-K630ES back to life!
    Henry F.

Being very particular with my audio equipment and basically anything electronic, I am always one to figure things out on my own. After all, I am not made of money. However, after winning a Sony TC-K630ES in auction for a fair price and finding out it had some problems. I knew I was beat. This is a high end cassette deck and I didn't want to mess things up. It needed a new belt and pinch roller, I have done that hundreds of times with other cassette decks. Upon opening it up, I saw the complexity of it but still moved forward. Everything was fine until I did a rookie mistake... I forgot to turn off the power supply and something sparked. IDIOT!!!! Anyway, this resulted in the motor not working and play mechanism not engaging. I couldn't get anything to work. I was devastated because I really love this Sony cassette deck and have been searching for it for years. I decided I needed to hire a professional. I did heavy research and ultimately decided on Stone Electronics (close to my apartment). The reviews were good so I made the call. I explained my situation to Joe and he informed me that it could be something small or something big. At this point, I had no choice but to trust in him. We agreed on a budget and made a deal. Less than a week later, Joe brought my Sony TC-K630ES back to life!!!! It has been working perfectly ever since. I am so pleased with his work that I decided he is now my "go-to guy" for anything that needs work that I can't do myself. Yes, he is a bit pricey, but, he knows his stuff. You are paying him to repair your stuff back to working order, not to string you along. He informed me that my deck needed more work but he honored my budget and got it fixed. That is a quality and classy trait! Thanks Joe! All in all, Joe is a good repairman and I am confident that if anything else needs work, he can fix it. A+ Repair!

Jo did a great job restoring a JVC M90 boombox. Thanks for the great job!! I recommend it to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Kenwood KR-9050

I have owned my vintage Kenwood KR-9050 since college, which I attended in the 1970's! It weighs about 5,000 pounds and pumps out a zillion watts per channel. It always had extraordinarily pristine sound, and it gets LOUD. But for some years I've had consistent problems with one thing or another (the left channel won't play, there's a persistent buzz, etc). I had brought it to two other highly rated repair shops (who will remain nameless) whom I paid HUNDREDS and hundreds of dollars, but who never satisfactorily fixed the device. And then... a friend recommended Stone and finally, for a reasonable (but hardly cheap) fee, it's sounding like new.

Joe diagnosed and repaired my B&O 4002, and in the process corrected a problem that was overlooked by another service facility. Now my turntable works perfectly again. Many thanks, Joe!

Joe repaired my record player after another repair person was unable to do it. It sounds better than it ever has, practically brand new. He managed to source an extremely difficult part to find, the got it all working in tip top shape. There is no reason to go anywhere else. A+++

    McIntosh MR-71 tuner (~1965)
    Ed P.

Joe is a great repairman that's extremely rare to find nowadays. I've had several McIntosh pieces repaired/refurbished by Joe and he's done a great job. My McIntosh MC-2505 was previously refurbished by a well-known east coast McIntosh resource that did an okay job but the piece never wowed me. I thought it might just have a "sleepy" presentation but after Joe's work, it was incredibly dynamic and resolute. I ended up dumping all my contemporary solid state pieces in favor of this 50+ year old amplifier. More recently I had Joe repair my McIntosh MR-71 all-tube tuner. This 60 year old tuner now sounds as good as new. You can't go wrong using Joe. If you have a vintage piece that's too precious to give up on, I highly recommend Joe to get it up and running well again. In a throwaway society it's tremendous value to have Stone Electronics in the area to keep your electronics working well at a fair (more than fair) price.

restored Pilot 590 which wouldn't even power up to the original warmth. Joe is an expert and very fast.

restored my Pilot 590 which wouldn't even power up to such a great standard. Everything works from am fm to the turntable preamp with the original warmth. Joe is an expert and very fast.
