2024-02-21 When searching for an electrician, my husband and I selected Quality Electric based on the high ratings for both quality work and reasonable prices they received in the Washington Consumer Checkbook ratings of electricians. We were very pleased with the thoughtful and skillful assistance we recently received from Quality Electric Service in Annandale. Unexpectedly, we had to get a dedicated GFI outlet placed, by a certain date, in our main floor bathroom. At Quality, Ben understood our need for timely installation and, without over-promising what could be done in the available time, he thoughtfully developed an ultimately successful plan to get the new outlet in that bathroom by our deadline. At our house, Jerry, a colleague of Ben, not only skillfully finished installation of the new outlet (and all related house wiring) at a time well before our deadline but, using those same skills, he was also able, by that same time, to complete the desirable (but not time-sensitive) upgrade of three existing outlets in our house. Emailed them about adding a dryer vent to my old condo (which had an existing power cable). Received a very quick reply, and was given a quote that was about a hundred dollars less than most others in the surrounding area. And they honored the coupon that was on their website too. My electrician, Jimmy, called ahead to let me know he was on his way, and arrived exactly at the scheduled time. The entire job would have only taken 15 minutes, but upon checking the final work he found that someone prior has messed up the labeling of the wires and corrected it. He was really friendly and thankfully thorough. Will definitely use them for future electrical work, and will happily refer them to my friends in Alexandria, Falls Church, and Arlington who are doing work on their homes. read more

We hired Quality Electric Service to conduct a range of projects, from installing a new electric panel to installing canned lights and hanging pendant lights. While the electric work largely got done, the project was nearly double the initial price quoted and two of the lights we wanted installed didn't get done. Of the lights hung, they were done poorly. Fixtures hanging loosely with electric boxes underneath visible. A heavy pendant light was suspended by the electric wire instead of the chain. I had to redo two fixtures myself - the company sent someone to fix two others after I complained. When I raised the quality of work with the company - they complained that I wasn't present (my wife was there). When she questioned the work - the electrician (who had 30 years of experience) man-splained that she was wrong. Finally - the company said they didn't want to work with customers who questioned their work. They expected me to know which parts were required and to provide instruction. For the price - it was a terrible choice to work with this company. read more

I called this company after the maintenance crew at my condo association said they are great. They were not wrong! First of all I had a window for the appointment that start at 7 AM. Tom called at about 20 to 7 am said he would be there in about 20 or 30 minutes. He was right on time. I am price sensitive and asked him about how much he thought the job would cost. There were multiple small things that I needed dome some more important than others. He said he would start with the most critical one and work his way to the least important task. He did and he got everything done well within the budget. Based on how this company charges I asked him to tell me when he was getting to about 500 dollars so I could judge if I really needed those last few things done. We did not even get close to that and I was extremely happy to get these issues fixed. When you call ask to have Tom as your tech. They (Jimmy & Jerry) were: On time (both for estimate & work performed); Professional & knowledgeable (laid down coverings in home as to not track dirt & advised me during process of tasks being performed & polite and respectful); Efficient (were on target with amount of time needed to complete work and restore power); and Reasonably priced (felt I received good quality for a fair price) Even the county inspector mentioned that it was a well done job. Poor service. Electrician didn't have time to finish job in the morning, so said he would be back later that day. Didn't come back and didn't call. The next morning we called and were told someone would be back after their scheduled visits that day. When they came back said they couldn't fix the problem without us moving equipment around. We couldn't do it then, so they left. I had another electrician out who fixed the problem without any inconvenience. They also left off one outlet cover and lost a screw, necessitating a trip for me to home Depot to replace it. read more

Under no circumstances should you consider using this company. We used them once on a small job and they did well. We than had a problem with outdoor lighting. They spent 1.5 hours and were unable to figure out the nature of the problem. The electrician had an another appointment that afternoon and they don't work past 3:30. How nice for them. This is the best company I have ever dealt with. I had horrible contractors who had forged their license and built me an addition out of chewing gum and rubber bands. One of the lovely things they did, minor in relation to the larger structural nightmares, was leave many electric outlets there only for decoration. In other words, the receptacle was in the wall and obvious, but it had no wiring to it at all. They did this to the receptacle that was inside my gas fireplace box. This outlet was supposed to feed the blower motor for the fireplace. I could not run the fireplace safely without the blower motor. Quality Electric came out, but they had to open my wall right next to my stone fireplace surround in order to run a wire to the outlet in the fireplace. They not only did it quickly, but they made the smallest opening they could, they moved my rug and furniture away from the area of mess without breaking anything, they put down dropcloths so as not to injure my flooring, they did not tell me that now I was going to have to find a drywall guy, but instead patched the drywall beautifully themselves, And they cleaned up after and replaced my rug and furniture so that I could not even tell anything had been done at all. All of this, which took almost 3 hours, was under $300.00 including the parts, labor, and drywall patching. I would trust these people with anything.They are just the best! read more
