I scheduled an EV charger installation with this company after receiving what seemed like a fair quote--both with and without a permit. We agreed on a date about two weeks out, which was their earliest availability. The day before the appointment, they called to cancel and reschedule--pushing it another two weeks out. Then, the day before the rescheduled appointment, they informed me of an additional 25% charge for a GFCI breaker. This part costs about $50 and takes no additional time to install compared to a standard breaker. What I find most frustrating is this: why are service providers charging rates comparable to surgeons, yet failing to accurately quote based on basic code requirements? If you're truly a professional in this field, shouldn't you be able to generate an accurate quote up front? Either they didn't know the code (which is concerning) or they knowingly excluded necessary components to make the quote seem lower. This was a disappointing experience marked by poor planning, lack of transparency, and questionable pricing practices. I would not recommend them. Wasted much of my valuable time. read more

I was researching for a good personal/family owned small business to troubleshoot wiring issues at my house. The bigger companies quote so much more for their profit margins. I wasn't down to pay extra for that. However I wanted the job done properly and professionally. There were a few things I looked for: certifications, insurance, good ratings and really small business. Electrisource was exactly it! After using a power tool in my garage while the oven was on, some circuits in my house went out. I couldn't find the source of the issue. I asked for a quote giving them the problem description and they gave me a flat rate to fix the problem and not quote me based on hours spent fixing the problem like all other companies. I don't get why other companies don't do it this way. Give us a quote to fix the problem - not arbitrary hours and rates! Anyway, my problem was fixed and I'm quite happy learning everything that went down. I even asked for another quote to replace my old breaker box that has no more space left. I was in town for the holidays and my parents had some electrical needs queued up. The team at Electrisource was quick to give me a quote and put me in the books. The first positive interaction started before the actual visit - a 30 minute call ahead by Luis letting me know he was on his way. Luis was able to replace an old fan switch with ease. He then moved on to replace an old ceiling fan. When taking down the original fan, he realized it was mounted improperly and had a suggestion on how to mount the new one better. I appreciated that he could have just kept things "as is", but helped me understand how we could do it better this go-around (and so we did!) Recommended! They were running a little late (rush hour snow squall - understandable) so they actually rerouted a different tech to me to get started sooner. The other tech was actually only 10 or 15 minutes behind. They had a very fair troubleshooting fee which would go towards the repair. They brought 2 overhead LED fixtures with them in case they couldn't fix the existing ones I was having trouble with. In the end, they were able to identify the problem and fix it without needing the new fixtures. So the troubleshooting fee was all it cost and they were done in less than 45 minutes. read more

I suspected the job should be very straightforward because of the proximity of my car, the house and the panel box. When I provided some pictures with the quote they didn't even bother to schedule an in person appointment with me and interupt my day. We did an video call where I showed them everything they needed to see to give me a quote and within minutes I had a professional quote in my inbox ready to approve. Not only were they very easy to get along with and fast, but the price was significantly less than the other electricians that I spoke to. The day of the install they were on time and ready to work. It took them less than an hour to finish and the install looks very well done. They didn't even need to turn off the power so my work wasn't disrupted. I've used the charger several times since then and it works flawlessly. They removed a hideous light fixture, installed 3 new recessed lights, installed 2 new pendant lights over the island, and replaced 6 existing recessed lights with new matching LED ones. Our initial experience with Electrisource was overall positive. They replaced a few outlets, added a smart doorbell, and did an quick assessment of our house to see if the electrical needed to be updated, which they ultimately said was not really necessary. The pricing felt a bit expensive, but overall was similar (though on the high end) to other quotes we were getting at the time. We were very pleased with the work and ended up getting a panel upgrade from them as well, which was also excellent overall. The only issue we had was with the service upgrade that we got along with the panel. This was a logistical issue that was mostly the fault of the inspector and Dominion, but that Electrisource could have handled better. For some reason our inspection was never received by Dominion, so they kept delaying our service upgrade. We were told that they would come out when they were ready, but they never did and they never contacted us. After several months we reached out to Electrisource, and they were surprised that it was taking so long and reached out to the inspector as well, but things still weren't moving. Eventually we had to step in and start making calls and finally we were able to get everything settled, but by the end of that process it had been about a year since the panel upgrade itself. The failures on the inspection office and Dominion's part were not at all Electrisource's fault, but it feels like they could have monitored the process more closely and made sure things were moving along, especially after we reached out to them for the first time. Other than that though, everything about their service was excellent and we really enjoyed working with them. read more
