Contacted Jab & Sons for an installation of a ceiling fan dimmer control switch. Easy & quick scheduling (next day) over the phone with Alex. Quoted a $69 fee to come out which is waived if you commit to the requested project. Time-Frame given was between 8-10am, Miquel showed up a little after 8 ready to work. Miquel did his inspection and gave me a total quote which included parts, labor & taxes. Clear & transparent on costs which is appreciated. Miquel did the job professionally & quickly, he walked me through the working part to ensure everything was correct. He also ensured that I received the receipt via email before leaving. Miquel also was conscious of cleaning up, and he wore booties over his shoes without being asked. Definitely would recommend Jab & Sons, from scheduling to installation. read more

The technician came on time to look at installing a new circuit to our new stove. He said we need a new circuit breaker panel and quoted the job. He spent about 15 minutes looking at everything. We also had John C Flood give us a quote... He spent over an hour looking at the job, and discovered today there was a code-compliant way to do the job without replacing the whole panel (saving us multiple thousands of dollars), and that an HVAC panel removal would be required to do the job (which JAB had not seemed to notice). We hired John C Flood, so I don't know for sure--maybe JAB would have done a good job, but I certainly got the sense that they were a lot less thorough. read more

first of all their call service is trash, the guy setting up the appointment sounds drunk or cannot dictate alphabets. then I had an appointment set for between 8am to 10am, i called and asked at 8:15am when the technician will be coming, they said 10am. so I went out to run errands. then at 9am I get a call that the technician will come at 9:30am. I asked if we could keep it at 10am as I was out getting work done and they said no we have to keep it to between 8am and 10am. plus for a consultation they charge $69. which is usually free with most other places. absolutely trash read more

Roodan and Brain are really knowledgeable. They took their time to explain the process and what went wrong with my outlets. I will be using Jab and Son Services in the future for my electrical needs. Highly recommended! read more

It's currently November 2024 and I've needed service from Jab & Son twice. 1st time was to replace 2 exterior lights. But the 2nd service was unexpected and for an emergency electrical panel replacement. I heard a crackling sound in my electrical panel in the morning. I called and said that I have a situation and explained what I heard. Abraham stated he could be at the house in the evening since I had to be at an appointment earlier that afternoon. He & his crew showed up at 7 PM and replaced the panel. I was impressed with the professionalism, work ethic, responsiveness, and communication. Abraham assessed the issue and discovered that my breakers were failing and burning out. The entire project took a good 4 hours if I'm not mistaken. It was late when they left but I can sleep knowing that my house is safe due to the new electrical panel. I think I received a fair price based on my research the next morning. Either way I'm just thankful that the issue was resolved in the same day. I plan on using this company for all of my future electrical needs in the future. read more

Moved to a new house that had some wires hanging around and I called to have them removed by a professional. I spoke with Abraham and after looking at pictures, he told me how I could manage them myself. Money saved! I very much appreciate his honesty. Two other electricians saw the picture and said they could come out and handle them for a fee. I will absolutely be using these guys in the future! read more

JAB and Son Services were terrific! They arrived around 9a and finished around 11a. He hooked up my attic fan to my phone, and I can monitor the temperature in the Attic. It's been thirty minutes post-installation, and it's already a lot cooler on the third level of my townhome. I plan to use their services on another project and can't wait! I hate to write a negative review with so many shining reviews, all 5 stars. Our smoke detectors were just over one year old and would sometimes randomly go off. It was frustrating, all seven blaring and a voice telling us to evacuate, with nothing wrong. It wasn't something we'd want to happen when we weren't here and drove our dogs crazy. Most likely it was a problem with the installation or a defect in one of them, they were just over a year old. Based on the glowing reviews, my husband called, spoke to a lady, we wanted a licensed electrician to check them out and correct the situation. She mentioned a $69 fee, we wouldn't have to pay if they did some work. Sounded great. What happened was the two young men didn't check anything, they said we'd need to replace them, sounded off, really? They said it would be just over $1,800. Well, we didn't want the problem to continue although it seemed extreme when they didn't even check anything. One asked it it was OK if he used Spanish to explain something to the other one, we were OK with that. They left to get the new smoke detectors, came back in 45 minutes and said "they" gave them the wrong ones. You'd think they would know what they went to get. It didn't take long for the installation. We paid them, after they left I asked my husband where the "old" smoke detectors were. They weren't in the house. (I was going to ask my neighbor if he wanted them since it's unlikely they were all bad after just over a year. My husband called on a Saturday to speak to the owner. We weren't crazy about the not even checking the smoke detectors and wanted the other ones back. No return call, at all. He called again, nine days later and did speak with the owner. He explained it's their "policy" when called about smoke detectors to automatically replace them, they don't check anything. (Not what we were told when we called to schedule the service call or we would have looked elsewhere.) He said they always clean up when they leave so they took the old smoke detectors and they throw them away. Great. Again, that's their "policy". Since it's his company, it's his policy. So, bottom line, too bad. He was polite and professional but no budging on the how their "policies" work. I would recommend if you consider this company to speak to the owner directly before scheduling a service call to understand his policies in advance. I would not use them again. read more

Abraham just installed a 240 plug for our new EV and I couldn't be happier. He even helped install the bracket for the charger itself. He suggested a surge protector that I thought was just for the plug, but it's for the whole house at a VERY reasonable price. We live in a stacked condo, so it's 100% worth the investment. And good to support local business! Thank you Abraham! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Abraham and his crew. I called them late on a Friday afternoon with a serious electrical problem and Abraham made the time to come by and provide a very reasonable estimate before the weekend. They started first thing that following Monday and completed a very professional and high-quality repair that included re-wiring an entire circuit in our 95 year old house, replacing the associated switches and outlets, installing a whole-house surge protector, installing recessed lighting and creating a ceiling fan drop. They finished in less than three days, on schedule and on budget. The quality of their work is top-notch, including the plaster repair and painting following the electrical work. I highly recommend Abraham for all your electrical repair and project needs! read more

We desperately needed an attic fan to help remedy our super overheated upstairs. We live in a 3 story 70's contemporary home with a steep pitched roof. Our bedrooms were always about 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. We got a quote from another company for $3,500 (and that was with the 15% service contract discount if we signed up for their maintenance program). We reached out to JAB on Yelp and they responded right away. Their tech came out the next day and quoted us $1,800 for the same project! They explained everything, detailed exactly what equipment they would install and were able to come just a few days later and install. The fan is working perfectly thus far and we are VERY happy with both JAB and their work. Will use them for all our electric projects moving forward and living in a home built in 1973, we have quite a few! read more

Exceptional service! We just moved and brought our washer and dryer, but the wall outlet was 3-prong and our dryer was 4-prong. Desperate to do laundry, I found Jab & Son on Yelp. Abraham responded right away. I called Monday and he fit me in for a Wednesday appointment--amazing. Text messages alerted me to his arrival. He was very professional, wore shoe covers, and provided an exact estimate--which I felt was very reasonable. The work was done quickly and neatly. JAB & Son saved the day! I had an old electric range stove go out and just had it replaced, but to my surprise -- there was no power! I checked the breaker and noticed it was tripped, but would not go back on. So, the new family stove was not operational. It was around 3pm on a Thursday when I realized I would need an electrician. I went to yelp and put a few requests for quotes. Abraham responded less than 10 minutes with his phone number. I called and he picked up immediately. I shared with him my problem, and asked when I would want service. I said "Today, would be great! Is that possible?" He said, I'm in Washington DC now, but I can come afterwards. True to his word he came out that night and all the while kept me informed on his estimated arrival. He arrived just after 7pm. He quickly addressed my issue, gave me an estimate, which was very fair and felt it was a good value. (just under $400) - Then he got to work. He was quickly able to address the issue and got my stove working. Since he was there, I had two outlets that weren't working in a downstairs bathroom and outside lower deck. I told him about this and he said he would be happy to take a look. Mind you this was around 8pm. He quickly checked it out, and gave me an estimate to fix both outlets around $235 for the labor plus additional outlets which ended up being $45. I agreed and he knocked it out in a half an hour. In all, I spent around $635 for the service charges for all the work. This is very fair and a good value. You can't beat someone willing to come out same day after 6pm. I found Abraham and Jab & Son services to be very communicative, very easy to work with, offered great value and very efficient. I will definitely be using them again for future electrical needs.
