Before I get into the issues I had, will say the finished exterior of the siding and window install…read moreturned out great. Also when the PM changed to Niko for the window install at the end of the project, he went above and beyond to try to remedy my frustrations but still too many issues throughout the process to not share. Install process. Found the install of the house wrap and insulating layer to be extremely sloppy until I started having them correct. Rough cuts, loose and folded areas throughout. Poorly installed in a lot of areas. Insulating layer. Not sure why I was charged for this on the garage and probably missed similar install issues on the house that got covered with tape. But huge gaps in the insulating layers, hidden with wide tape on the seams. Rough cuts and overlaps. For those getting vinyl, the installers were not even going to tape the seams of the insulating layer until I asked them too. My understanding of the tape is to prevent air gaps in the insulating layer but they seemed to think it was for moisture as they showed my the small drain holes built into the vinyl pieces for moisture to escape. For the demo work. We had an addition where old concrete board was removed. It was broken apart and instead of any ground cover to catch the debris, I was left with concrete chips all throughout my front yard. Found out later it was supposed to be a "lead safe" job meaning they were to properly manage debris from the concrete board. Niko did remedy this by helping clean and remulching these areas at the end of the job. The previous PM was useless on the issue. Will leave his name out in hopes that he gets his act together. Also found cigarette butts, onions and ketchup packets thrown throughout my yard. (Pictured). Be careful as they only go around with a magnet for nails but found lots of nails (some on driveway) that were stainless or non mettallic and not picked up. Last item on this was leftover material. Would recommend holding payment until all leftover material is picked up from your property. Luckily my window install came a week after siding, and I used the opportunity to make sure they picked up my neighbors leftover material (who they had ghosted after the project) along with the material at my property. Communication. They were quick to get material to site and provide a start date. Outside of that communication was awful. No idea who was showing up and how many. Install date for the window was missed and I didn't get an answer (after having to call them) until 3 hours later that the install was going to be rescheduled. PM during the siding install was awful. Took no ownership, had bad communication, poor follow through. Left working more directly with the crew lead and the crew lead worked hard, but the PM should have more presence and awareness of what was going on with the project. But you bet he was spot on for showing up to collect payment at the end of each step of the process. Getting off my soapbox. To close out. Happy with the exterior work but feel like I am not getting the full benefit/function of the under layers to the siding. PM needs to take more ownership and ensure better craftsmanship during this process. Frustrations above have me more excited about being done dealing with Home Genius than about the siding and window itself and it's a real bummer.

Had a great experience with them. Corey, the sales rep (HRE), was very easy to talk to and didn't…read moretry to upsell me on things I didn't want or need. Nico was a phenomenal project manager and had great communication throughout the process and quickly addressed any issues or concerns I had. The install crew that replaced my siding were awesome. Very professional and did quality work. It turned out much better than I had expected. However it appears I should have gotten more quotes and estimates. My neighbor across the street had his siding done for less than half of what I got mine for. Expensive lesson leaned.
