I got several quotes from other gutter replacement groups in the area, and when I first met Charlie I instantly knew he is who I wanted to hire to replace our very cool (but old and failing) front gutter. He was always prompt, got us on the books quickly, explained everything throughly, his crew (AND him) were at my house 30 mins early for the job, and everyone was very respectful and cleaned up after the job was completed. Charlie even helped me better understand my home beyond the gutters (and gutter guards). On top of all of that, the quote was just slightly higher than the cheapest quote I got--absolutely worth it. Definitely recommend!

This company was the only one willing to waive their minimum to help us out and I'm so glad we found them! They were incredibly patient throughout the process, helping us locate the exact replacement and making sure the color perfectly matched the existing shutters. They even went the extra mile by replacing the neighboring shutter as well, just in case there was any fade difference between new and old. A special shoutout to Charlie, who helped us and also did the work -- he was amazing! Extremely communicative, kind, and respectful. He kept us informed every step of the way and truly cared about getting everything perfect. This may have been a small project, but they treated it with first-class service. Yep, another five star review for American Windows…read more We received three estimates for replacing three windows, a French door and a picture window. American Window undercut the estimates of the other two vendors by a substantial margin. We also really liked they only asked for a modest down payment. Jay was our sales contact at American Windows and he was absolutely great. He has an engaging personality, and kept all his commitments to us. We appreciated that when installation day came, he swung by to ensure all was going well. Oh, how did the installation go? It was fantastic. Not only did the windows and door come earlier than promised, the American Windows crew came on time and worked quickly and professionally. We were amazed that the whole job only took 4 1/2 hours to complete. The windows and door materials are high quality and we are very satisfied with the results.

We decided to drive an hour out to their showroom without calling first. Even though they weren't open yet and are by-appointment-only, Phil greeted us without hesitation. It turned out they couldn't take on our small window sill repair since they didn't install the original window, but Phil helped us anyway! He gave us repair ideas, explained potential causes, pointed us toward the right tools, and gave us contacts who could help. To top it off, his cuddly dog Wilson kept us company, and Phil even recommended a local spot for lunch since he knew we had a long drive. We are completely speechless at his kindness and support, despite not even being paying customers. Based on this first impression, we would work with Phil any day. The world needs more people like him!

Tore out walls, windows, doors, floors, lighting, stairs, tile, brickwork, and installed a totally new kitchen. Converted a garage to living space. The mini-split systems their HVAC subcontractor installed have never worked properly. They run for a little while (long enough to pass inspection apparently) and then shut off and have to be reset. Their HVAC sub said they were getting new units for us, and now that I have asked again they say they are out of warranty so they don't have to. The new concrete driveway is deteriorating already. The deterioration seems to be only on the main portion so presumably a problem with that concrete pour. When I asked about the first signs of deterioration my concerns were brushed off. The driveway was also initially made narrower than the civil engineer's specifications so a strip had to be added to make it the correct width, which looks unsightly. They also cut corners with the architect's specifications. The back stairs were supposed to be low-rise - about 6.5" - to match our front stairs for accessibility. Instead they used higher risers so those stairs have a rise about 8" and are hard for me to use. The attic pull-down stairs that were specified to be insulated are not. I worry that there are more things that we just haven't noticed that were not done to specifications. We like the space, but the rec room is unusable in winter without a working heating system. Another warning - their HVAC subcontractor installed HVAC air vents in the floor of a bathroom including next to the toilet. Imagine what happens when the toilet overflows? Code allowed that (and may still, be careful) but it's certainly a bad idea (code does not allow HVAC vents in bathroom floors in commercial buildings) and I would hesitate to trust a contractor who built like that. I really wish we had chosen a different contractor.

I've been managing a major renovation at my home (we're talking $150K+)--entirely on my own since my husband works out of state and has ZERO involvement in household decisions. In fact, in the past 17-years since purchasing our home, my husband has NEVER been present when I contracted for renovations. This snooty woman took it upon herself to look up the deed to my home without advising me and then had the audacity to advise that %#*&% was listed in addition to me as the homeowner. PARDON ME? She then proceeds to say she couldn't schedule a visit unless the "decision makers" were available. Newsflash: being on a deed does not automatically make someone a decision maker--especially when they're not even present or involved. The whole thing was invasive, outdated, and flat-out disrespectful. If your business model includes digging into people's property records to decide who gets a consultation, you shouldn't be in business. Pro tip: It's 2025. If you're still using the "let me check with the husband" trope, you might want to take a class from a top sales coach and learn how to overcome objections without making sexist assumptions. Your sales training is showing--and it's not a good look. Congratulations--you just lost a $60,000+ job before you ever stepped on the property.

RESPONSIVENESS - very fast, very responsive, very professional. A tad too frequent, but apparently roof repair is a competitive business. INSPECTION - scheduled and conducted efficiently; exceptionally thorough inspection report (David). COST - in line with all other quotes, which are apparently driven by the insurance estimate. Green Oak differentiation included owner interaction, master roofer certification, 5 star rating, excellent warranty, professional documentation and workflow management. WORK - scheduled efficiently, material arrived on time the day before, crew arrived on time the day of, work was conscientious and completed in 3/4 day (townhome), clean-up (including loose nail hunt) was impressively thorough. AFTER - received certificate of completion in a timely manner, along with photo record of repaired roof. Not being a roofer, it's difficult to assess the integrity of the new roof & shingles, however the end result appears clean and professional. Suspect the new, high-quality roof will increase the townhome value and/or decrease time to sell based on the high-quality products used and overall curb appeal of the work. Overall quite satisfied with Green Oak. Recommend.

I reached out to Green Oak after searching on Yelp (s/o), and was extremely glad I did. Brian H. took me through the process from start to finish, including an insightful explanation of the insurance claim process. The free estimate happened within a few days and ended up being lower than the insurance-assessed quote. He recommended a roof "tune up" as part of the package without pushing or trying to upsell me for more, which i really appreciated. He also accommodated my inquiry of adding on the installation of a bathroom exhaust vent cap, which was missing when we moved in. After being extremely reasonable on pricing and lighting-fast on responses, they scheduled and completed the work the day after signing. The team was efficient and respectful, with a huge attention to detail. TL;DR - Highly recommend giving Brian and Green Oak Exteriors a shot to help fix your home exterior issues, especially when you are in a bind with your insurance company!
