    Full bathroom

Carrillo did a great job on our bathroom remodel. John and his staff were very professional, very considerate. They were also very flexible. Their pricing was very competitive and they also worked hard to get the job done. I would highly recommend.

Jonathan and team did a full bathroom reno for me and the outcome was great with only a few issues. Everyone was very friendly and hardworking, and they always checked in when a decision had to be made. They did demo of the entire tub shower and floor, installed a window in the shower wall, tiled, painted, epoxyed the tub, and installed a new vanity, fan, and toilet. The room was probably original to our 1970s house and was in very poor shape, and now it's one of my favorite rooms in the house. The issues that came up were a rather hasty paint job, but after I requested caulking, filling, and sanding some spots it was done to a good standard. The room has a wood beam that had paint splotches from previous jobs, and they removed most of those - I did have to finish a few myself. The tub epoxy had to be done twice and still has some places with drips, which was the most disappointing part, since I have seen DIY jobs that look similar. We had to repurchase a toilet when the new one we got didn't fit, after I had specifically asked if we needed a particular size. At the end of the job, a few things that I hadn't realized would cause upcharges were mentioned as being added cost to my initial estimate. Jonathan agreed to honor the original quote when I mentioned that I expected to be informed when a small change would add cost (moving a light fixture about a foot, painting the outside of the door). He offered a small compensation for the poor tub refinish. The tiling job is perfect and looks amazing, and overall the team understood my vision and helped make it a reality. The whole job took about a month and they prioritized installing the toilet so we could use the room (our only downstairs bathroom) ASAP. Jonathan listened to my concerns and addressed them and I'm so exited to use this bathroom for many years to come!

Came to my home on 8/2 to review specs for the requested project. I haven't heard back and an estimate was never provided.

We were pleased with his crew and the work they did. 25 years later, needing exterior wood rot to be fixed and the house's trim to be painted, we thought again of Dori. His business has grown but his approach has not changed. The estimate that Scott and Pablo gave was thorough, Marvin and the crew showed up on time, worked tirelessly, were courteous, cleaned up after themselves, and did an outstanding job. Of course, as Dori led us to expect, the team discovered additional rot as they worked. I cannot overstate the diligence Marvin in particular brought to the task of identifying and fixing the rot. Dori's company is not inexpensive but it is worth every penny. We could not be more pleased about the work his team did or more enthusiastic about Dori and the company and culture he has built and maintained over time.

My front and backyard needed a professional makeover. Jose and team were very professional, prompt, thorough, and attention to details was superb. The services I received was new sod, new plants, aligning existing brick boarder in the driveway, fertilizer, weed pull to name a few. For customers like myself who will maintain the lawn and plants, Jose provided specific instructions on how to care and maintenence the lawn and plants to ensure healthy growth. I appreciate the hard work done on my yard, the work was labor intensive, Jose and team surpassed my expectations and my neighbors really like the work they did on my yard. I selected Hercules & Sons Landscaping for quality work, not quantity. Everyone is always looking for great pricing. Remember, you get what you pay for. Pricing is reasonable. I recommend Hercules & Sons Landscaping for your lawn care needs. Check out the site, and give Hercules & Sons Landscaping a call, they offer other services as well. He was able to show me examples of his work and give me a quote on the spot. After he knew I was going with his firm, things turned a bit sour. I wanted to chat about a few things so he told me to call at 5 o'clock the next day. I called at 5 o'clock the next day and he seemed a bit irritated. So I asked him if it was a good time to talk. He said well if you want to talk with a toddler around. He was quite curt. He told ME to call him AT 5! The next day I reminded him he told me that I should call at that time and he was still complaining about talking with his child around. If you do not have a baby sitter do not ask clients to call you. I thought he would apologize for his rudeness, he didn't. Instead, I believed I was apologizing. Nuts. Then, I realized I had to remove two medicine cabinets that would leave holes in the walls that would need drywall patches. I told him about that and he said it would be $50 each extra just to do the drywall patches. Fine. Then a couple weeks later he said well are those the kind of cabinets that are hung on the wall or leave a hole when removed. I said there are holes. He proceeded to tell me then that that would probably be more than $50. So, if there are nail holes in the wall it's $50, but if there is a drywall hole it's more? I do not understand that. Mind you, I have emails where he actually wrote "confirmed" on items/clarifications to make sure they were included in the contract. I knew to do that because of the way his contract was written. Apparently, his contract only goes one way, his way. He states specifically that his contract is the entire contract: "Exclusions--Anything not mentioned in scope." I had in the contract to paint the outdoor shutters and white dry lock on the exposed cinderblock walls in the "downstairs laundry room." He's talking to me on the phone the day before, obviously not reading his own contract, and he says the shutters were not included, but he says that's okay. I reminded him they were in the contract. The next day when he goes to start work, he tells me the entire basement is not included. Mind you, he agreed to use dry lock in the "downstairs laundry room." There is no exposed cinderblock in the home except in the laundry room in the basement. He told me he didn't have the basement in any of his notes or video and he asked me if I remember going down there with him. I said I didn't remember. I reminded him of the cinderblock dry lock paint and he said well I assumed that was in the ground level - - so he didn't refer to his video that would clearly not show any exposed cinderblock above ground level ? Mind you, the contract states "Prep and paint all walls, ceilings, trim, and doors throughout the home." Well, he asked for an additional $2800 more. When I said no, it's just getting too expensive for me he dropped it to $2500 more (the contract was already ~$11,000). Mind you, he contracted with me to do the entire home. He reneged on his contract. What was I going to do? Take him to court? I need my home painted and I don't want someone to be forced to paint and do a bad job. Not saying that he would do a bad job, but I also needed it done as soon as possible. At a minimum, he should've owned up to the error. Instead, he tried to put the blame on me because I did not go in the basement with him. Seriously? If he had owned up to the mistake and given me a much better price, I probably would've gone with him. Mind you, his crew was already there and he had started putting paper down in a few rooms. He probably lost more money taking his crew away and losing a day of scheduled painting. I am just very disappointed. I think he probably would do a beautiful job, but I can't go with someone who changes the price while at the job. Is it my responsibility to walk into every room with him to make sure he has every room in his notes and video?

I asked what cabinet distributors they used and she couldn't give me a name, she said they use many. I then asked what the difference would be between getting a particular cabinet color (not knowing what my options were or what would be in stock without a company name), and she said custom vs semi custom are just words and that it's all pretty much custom so it wouldn't make a difference. Upon asking a few more questions, she proceeded to tell me "I'm not sure if you saw, but our company has almost a 5-star review and that's almost unheard of". I didn't know what to make of it, but considering what some of their reviews mentioned, I felt as though we were going to get the same treatment. She said she'd get back to me by Friday with a quote and a visual of the kitchen updates-- it was Tuesday that day. We gave her a call that Friday afternoon to follow up and she insisted that the cabinet company was taking a while and that she'd get back to us by Monday the latest if not over the weekend. We waited and got nothing so my husband called her the following Wednesday without ever hearing from her. She continued to reassure us that she hasn't forgotten about us and that she'd get back to us by Monday for sure. It's now been 21 days and we got no updates or any communication from them. It's clear that this is a pattern for them and I'd advise someone looking to get work done by someone reliable and honest to look elsewhere.
