This review is long overdue, but I've been meaning to share our wonderful experience with Al, Mike and their team on the multiple projects they completed for our old, complex house. We converted two rooms plus a hallway into a master suite as well as split two large upstairs rooms into three. We had structural concerns and lots of logistics to work out and I wouldn't trust anyone other than Mike to draw up the plans to make sure everything is safe and up to code. Al oversaw the projects and was in constant communication with us and regularly was on site to make sure everything was going smoothly. If anything wasn't 100% correct or what we had discussed, he would make sure it was remedied. Big shout out to Franz who even showed up to work the day after his wife had a baby! The M3 team worked late days and on weekends (with our consent) to meet their deadlines, even when the county held them up with permitting issues they still worked hard to finish within our timeframe. We even made major changes to our plans after construction had begun and they were able to pivot and help us get more square footage for the upstairs bedrooms. There were also numerous curveballs that they handled with ease (ya never know what you'll get with an old house). This was our first time doing any sort of large project and the team at M3 gave us plenty of guidance and support to make sure the finished product exceeded our expectations. If you want something done right the first time, then I highly recommend contacting M3!! If we stay in this house then you guys won't be done with us yet! -Cristen, Phil and now +2 (!) read more

Can't speak to the quality of their work. Reached out and scheduled a site visit but never received an actual estimate after the site visit despite following up and asking for the estimate. Complete waste of my time. Would not recommend. read more

We decided to give them a try despite some reviews stating that this company led them on so the lady came out for a consultation and took measurements, along with a video. I asked what cabinet distributors they used and she couldn't give me a name, she said they use many. I then asked what the difference would be between getting a particular cabinet color (not knowing what my options were or what would be in stock without a company name), and she said custom vs semi custom are just words and that it's all pretty much custom so it wouldn't make a difference. Upon asking a few more questions, she proceeded to tell me "I'm not sure if you saw, but our company has almost a 5-star review and that's almost unheard of". I didn't know what to make of it, but considering what some of their reviews mentioned, I felt as though we were going to get the same treatment. She said she'd get back to me by Friday with a quote and a visual of the kitchen updates-- it was Tuesday that day. We gave her a call that Friday afternoon to follow up and she insisted that the cabinet company was taking a while and that she'd get back to us by Monday the latest if not over the weekend. We waited and got nothing so my husband called her the following Wednesday without ever hearing from her. She continued to reassure us that she hasn't forgotten about us and that she'd get back to us by Monday for sure. It's now been 21 days and we got no updates or any communication from them. It's clear that this is a pattern for them and I'd advise someone looking to get work done by someone reliable and honest to look elsewhere. read more

I wasted two weeks of my time. I needed two bathrooms completely remodeled and the representative came out and took pictures and measurements. She said she would get back to me in a few days and it's now been 9! I tried calling the phone number on the website that has been disconnected and the other number goes to a voicemail. Wow, I cant believe that Yelp has them listed with a five star review. read more

I honestly could not sing higher praise for Mike. First and foremost, he's an honest and all-around great human being. He goes out of his way to make sure we're okay. For example, when we had other housing issues, he made recommendations for us even though it was well out of his way. His level of dedication to his customers is also incredibly appreciated. He's very responsive and happy to hop on calls even on evenings or weekends to help. A big shout-out to his team too - Kevin & Javier - they were clearly masters in their craft and respectful to our family and our day-to-day needs during the several weeks it took for our kitchen to be renovated. They managed all the logistics of getting the appropriate materials delivered and/or taken away at the right time so we didn't need to do anything! We are very happy with our new kitchen and can't imagine going through this journey with anyone else. You're in good hands with Mike!! read more

M3 renovations provided us with an estimate for work needed at our home. Their visit was professional and answered all of our questions during their visit for the estimate. We ultimately decided on another contractor but would have had no issues dealing with them. Thank again. read more

Hire Mike and his crew to renovate your kitchen. You will not be sorry. My husband and I bought a fixer upper 4 years ago and knew we would have to gut the kitchen (expensive) , so when the time finally came we were very particular about who we hired. We interviewed 8 (!) other contractors before finally hearing about M3 through the guy who redid our foyer. Instantly I knew we had found our guy. Offered great suggestions? Check. Listened to us? Check. Easy to work with? Check. Same guys showing up every day to work on your project? Check. (This one was huge for us as we knew we wouldn't be living in our home while it was being remodeled and we wanted to know who had access to our home.) Mike's attention to detail and thoroughness in his work can't be matched. The city inspector told us he wished everyone operated like M3 because it would make his job easier and he wouldn't see as many people get cheated out of their hard earned money. Was Mike the cheapest bid we got? No, but his work was worth every penny and I wouldn't hesitate to hire him and his guys again for future projects. read more

We hired M3 Renovations to remodel a bathroom. We replaced the floor, paint, mirror, light, exhaust fan, vanity/sink and corner shower. They did a great job with eventing. Al was super friendly, knew his trade and kept us up to date with the progress. The work took 4 and a half days. We highly recommend them and will be having them back for future projects. read more

Amazing craftsmanship and great employees. We contacted M3 Renovations in January 2022 and are so glad we did. Over the past two years we worked with Al and his team on a 3.5 bath renovation project and Mike and his crew on a major kitchen renovation, the complete worklist was extensive and they were efficient and professional throughout. A couple of top reasons we enjoyed working with M3 is because of their efficiency and professionalism, consulting with us on what works/does not work, and quick response. Mike, Al, Kevin, Javier were available to answer questions, address issues quickly and cleaned up every evening. I would recommend M3 Renovations 100 times out of 100 to anyone looking for home renovations. read more

Mike and his team did a great job at my home. They painted the entire interior, replaced fixtures in my bathrooms, and painted cabinetry in the kitchen and bathroom. Mike, Kevin and Javier completed a recent kitchen remodel for us and we couldn't be happier with their work! Mike and his team don't cut corners and the same crew showed up every day until our project was done. Throughout the project, Mike gave us some good ideas based on other project his team had done and most were things we ended up implementing - it was a true partnership. No project is without surprises especially when you own an older home like we do. Ours was an original load bearing wall that needed an additional support when we wanted to open it up. Mike and his team were quick to come up with and implement the correct solution and kept our project on track. Great work by M3 and I would definitely recommend hiring them for your kitchen project. read more

We hired M3 last summer to renovate our 3 full bathrooms and a powder room. They did an excellent job. We reconfigured and redesigned the main bathroom. Al was our consultant and he provided great suggestions and recommendations. We are very happy with the outcome of the bathrooms. Everything looks beautiful. M3 provided quality work. We also ended up getting M3 to replace the backsplash in the kitchen. That project turned out beautiful as well. Definitely recommend M3 for your home reno needs! read more

If you want to renovate your kitchen, the only contractor you need to reach out to is M3 Renovations. I had a list of seven contractors, Mike was the third one I called. After meeting with him, I just had a feeling he was the one. Wow....that was the best decision we made. He and his crew (shout out to Kevin and Javier) took my terribly dated 1980s kitchen, blew out the wall between it and my dining room and created the most beautiful kitchen I have ever seen. They are knowledgeable, think on their feet, clean, ethical and trustworthy....let alone artists and craftsmen! Highly Recommended!! Mike is very thorough and meticulous. He went out of his way to ensure he fully understood exactly what we were looking for and what we could expect through several friendly phone calls, e-mails and in-person visits. In addition, he followed up frequently to ensure that we were happy with the work being performed along the way and at completion of the project. He was extremely helpful throughout the entire process in regards to scheduling and selecting materials. The work performed was of the highest quality, completed on-time and at a very reasonable cost. It was a pleasure to work with M3 Renovations and we were extremely satisfied with everything! I have worked with M3 Renovations for 5 or 6 years now; spanning two residences and have been 100% satisfied with every project. Our latest project was a kitchen remodel. From adding a giant island to creating long stacked stone feature wall, Mike and his team not only executed my plans beautifully, they were able to give me recommendations for improvement (which I took and was glad I did) and also provided alternative solutions which saved me money. For example, I didn't like my cabinets, there was a dark gap at the top that went all the way around, they were very cookie cutter...rather than spend upwards of $15k to replace the cabinets, Mike recommended crown above to take the cabinets up to the ceiling and molding on the bottom to finish off the ugly edges. VERY happy with the results. Collaboration between Mike's team, Pella (for new windows and doors) and the wood floor installers was also important in this project as things had to be done a certain way/order and Mike was there to talk with them for me and give special instructions that were key to everything fitting together properly. I've had my new kitchen for a few months now and have gotten compliments from everyone that's seen it. Will definitely have M3 back for my next project. Just some of the projects I've had M3 complete over time: Kitchen Remodel Project included a new (HUGE) island, cabinet crown and bottom trim added to existing cabinets, under-cabinet lighting, new appliances, new countertops, backsplash, ceiling treatment/lighting, stone accent wall, door framing, electrical, paint. Trim Projects include multi-layer crown molding in bedrooms, single piece crown in bathrooms. Uplit crown molding and shadowbox wall detail in dining room, uplit crown in office. Also completed uplit crown molding in master bath and staircase shadow box trim in previous residence). Door Framing. Lighting/Electrical Interior recessed lights in master bedroom dressing area, exterior deck lighting. Fireplace accent lighting. Wall Sconces. Attic lighting (this included fixing all of the bad wiring for safety). read more

I highly recommend M3 Renovations for any home renovation project. I recently had both my kitchen and a bathroom renovated. Mike is very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process. He explained the process to me very well. Mike was always available via phone if I had an immediate question or via email if it was one which could wait. As others have stated, Mike provided several excellent recommendations for features I had not considered. I agreed with them and could not be happier with how things turned out. He provided me with a list of several recommended vendors for various items I needed to get. He also pointed out when I could just go to the box store and save a few dollars. His team members Kevin and Javier were great to work with. I am working a hybrid schedule these days, in office and out of office. On the days I was home I met briefly with Kevin each morning. He explained what they were going to accomplish each day. He also let me know the expected noise level in case I had any work calls. I have a small house so this was greatly appreciated. The process for my tiny bathroom was just as smooth. I highly recommend the team at M3. If I have any future projects I will be sure to give Mike a call! read more

Wanted to give another review, since going through my second renovation with M3 (bathroom, and now kitchen). I have nothing but praise for Mike and how he runs his business-always extremely responsive to my many, many questions, and committed to doing the best job. You're going to hear a lot of the same about Mike from myself and everyone else that works with him. As far as contractor and all around human being, Mike is a different breed. He's not a snake oil salesman like some Ashburn based companies, he's not a con man that's just trying to get in and out with subpar work. He's an honest and straight forward contractor with outstanding supporting staff that put the project first and foremost. I hired his team to do a bar renovation in my basement, and once the project kicked off, he stuck to his schedule +1 day due to the inclement weather we recently experienced. I've had contractors take a week off here or there because "something came up", this is not the MO of M3 renovations. The team showed up at exactly 8am everyday ready to work until the work was finished. It's the little things. If you're willing to pay for excellence while not abusing your wallet, contract with M3 and Mike. read more

Updated Review: Thanks for the follow-up, Mike. Original Review: Called for an estimate of a partial bathroom remodel, and spoke with the owner, Mike who informed me I was "too far out" and that he couldn't help me. This company is located in Fairfax, and I live in Arlington, about 30 minutes away. The Yelp business said it serves Fairfax and surrounding area, I would think Arlington would be included. Also, I might have been okay with that response, had I not looked on Yelp and seen reviews from people living in Arlington like myself, Alexandria and even as far as Washington, DC- both of which are further out than me! I also asked for recommendations for someone closer to me and he was unable to provide. Mike was perfectly pleasant to speak with, and I imagine he's a nice guy, but to me, this seems like they are cherry-picking projects (aka, higher-dollar). read more

We hired M3 Renovations to do a complete renovation of our 40-year old kitchen. This company does outstanding work! Throughout the entire process, Mike kept us informed, and offered helpful suggestions along the way. We have nothing but high praise for Mike, and his team of Kevin and Javier. There were ZERO surprises! The work was outstanding, and came in on budget and on time. These three gentlemen know their stuff, and are true craftsmen, with close attention to detail. They arrived on time, all the time, until the job was done. M3 worked diligently, and thoroughly cleaned up at the end of everyday, consistent with their philosophy that "we treat your home as if it were our home." And, to this point, we trusted them with a key to our home, and they continued to work while we were out of town; Mike even sent us photos to keep us up to date. With the benefit of hindsight, hiring M3 is a no-brainer; we will do so again when we redo the bathrooms. We recommend Mike and M3, with enthusiasm and no hesitation. You would be hard-pressed to find better. They were a pleasure to work with, and we are so happy with the finished product. Should you be lucky enough to work with M3, we think you will agree. read more

Mike is amazing! My husband and I woke up last week to a leak in our kitchen ceiling coming from our master bath. We called a plumber who essentially just guessed where it might be coming from. He caulked the drain and said if that didn't work we'd have to rip up our shower floor for the tune of $1600 to assess the problem. Unfortunately the water spot kept growing and we decided to get a second opinion as we weren't prepared for a bathroom remodel. After reading Mike's reviews on Yelp, I decided to give him a call and after a few minutes on the phone I knew I had found my guy. Mike is a genuinely kind and honest person. You can tell he loves his work! Within ten minutes of arriving, Mike found the leak by opening up the ceiling and saving my shower floor! I appreciated how much time he spent with me showing me what he was doing and why. He was thorough, thoughtful, quick, and fairly priced. He is incredibly knowledge and I will absolutely be calling him for future work. Thank you, Mike! read more

We heard about M3 from a neighbor who had seen one of their jobs and we contacted Mike and the first time he came by he spent three hours with us explaining the entire process. He was very helpful in guiding us to the right vendors and making the correct decisions regarding the remodeling of our kitchen. Mike was always available for any questions and supportive as we worked our way through the process. When construction began, Kevin and Javier were terrific to work with. They were easy-going, patient, and very skilled. They were not content with doing a good job, but wanted to make sure everything was exactly perfect. Their typical response to any questions or concerns we had was "whatever you like" or "whatever makes you happy". We have a very large kitchen and they were able to get the job done in a little over one month. It was nice that Kevin and Javier did pretty much all of the work, so we were not waiting for subs to show up. They made sure the worksite was cleaned up perfectly at the end of each day. I can't recommend them strongly enough, and would certainly say they were the best remodeling firm we've ever worked with. read more

These guys did a great job on a full gut and remodel of our master bathroom. We took down walls, re-routed plumbing and vents, and replaced a tub with a custom glass shower. Always on time and always called back promptly when I had questions. The same two guys did all of the work(other than electrical) and they covered everything and kept the house clean over the two week window they were working. They quickly fixed any issues I had and genuinely wanted us to be happy with the experience which we most definitely are. Highly recommend them. read more

Mike and his team did some drywall patching/painting, tile repair, and custom molding for me. They did a stellar job! You know the saying, "when it comes to your own stuff, no one cares as much as you do." Well, maybe you... and Mike from M3 Renovations. Seriously, his attention to detail is far superior to any contractor I've worked with in the past. Hire them. You'll be happy. read more

We used M3 Renovations to perform a fairly sizable kitchen renovation that involved new flooring (wood & tiling), cabinetry, counters, appliances, lighting, service movement (electrical, water, gas, and HVAC), window expansion, removal of a wall, and drywall/painting. This was our first major project so we naturally were very cautious, took our time, and had lots of questions along the way. Mike and his team were fantastically supportive right from the first encounter and patiently worked with us on ideation, design, and recommendations for vendors for things that they could not directly do (like floors, counters, and masonry). Mike's cabinet partner, Rich, has a wonderful design sense and worked through multiple revisions of the design with us while also being extremely helpful in terms of providing opinions and suggestions whose value we realized in the finished product. The project itself went extremely smoothly. Mike and his team were meticulous in their work and were always great about consulting with us for preferences, answering questions, and making suggestions for improvements. Their attention to detail was fantastic and you could tell that they are craftsmen who take pride in their work rather than trying to meet some minimal bar just to get the job done quickly. One of the benefits of going with M3 is that they do most of the work themselves so you have continuity of work and workers rather than a random procession of sub-contractors streaming through your house. I have no reservations in recommending M3 Renovations. These guys do top-notch work and made the whole process about as stress-free and pleasant as humanely possible. read more

Once again Mike and his crew did us proud with the bedroom crown molding and under-lighting project. I cannot speak more highly of their professional attitude, their attentive listening to requirements, and most of all their flawless execution. Ever since their excellent job on the shadow boxing on our staircase we knew we would have them back for the next task. This time it was a combined architectural element around the top of the bedroom with a series of lights that would give dramatic effect to the design. They banged this out in two days and even managed to squeak in painting the room on short notice - again all with meticulous attention to detail. M3 renovations are a pleasure to work with and I'm sure we'll be doing so for many years to come. Thanks Mike! read more

We had a major leak from the toilet in our 1st floor powder room that leaked through the ceiling into our basement. The most important thing I can say about M3 is that we're already planning on using them for another project next year. We had a large job that included a complete kitchen rebuild, a new mudroom being built into the garage, fixing walls, painting, all new floors, a new foyer, etc. The guys are great, the work is impeccable and they finished ahead of schedule. By far the best contractor we came across - look no further! Can't say enough about the team. Mike is outstanding at getting the job done right and keeping it moving. He has great contacts with the other contractors you'll need. He really runs a great ship. When there was a problem, it was dealt with up front and resolved. He works VERY hard to make sure everyone is happy. Kevin is an absolutely outstanding site manager - the guy can do everything well and my kids miss seeing him each morning. Gave helpful updates each day and laid out the choices we'd need to make. Javier did an amazing job with tiling and even created a perfect tiled design on the wall above the stove. Photos of "Kitchen C" on this Yelp site are from our kitchen renovation. Mike and the team did a fantastic job! We selected 3 contractors to compare. All were very attentive at the beginning. After designs were drawn, Contractor #1 would not let us see it until we signed a contract. Contractor #2 let us see his design at his office on a computer with state of the art technology that was able to rotate to view from every angle. Rich, the cabinet salesman and designer that Mike had us work with gave us hand drawn plans plus drawings that showed the way the kitchen would look from various angles. We loved being able to keep the drawings. We looked at them every day, imagining how the kitchen would look. We eliminated Contractor #1. We didn't feel comfortable signing a contract without actually seeing a plan. Contractor #2 had more years experience, and was highly rated on Angie's List. We were leaning toward them. When the time came to make a final decision, we still had a few questions. Contractor #2 did not follow up. Mike and Rich were very attentive and answered all of our questions. We felt comfortable with the thought that all of our questions would be answered, and that Mike and Rich were seriously interested in our business. We went with M3. Rich worked with us to get the design exactly as we wanted. He took a lot of time showing us all of the options for cabinets. A more expensive cabinet happened to be on sale for a certain window of time, but before our renovation was to begin. Rich pointed it out to us, and we were able to get top of the line cabinets for a reasonable price, and have them sent when we were ready. Rich has a wealth of experience in the cabinet and kitchen business. He made suggestions for counter top and hardware to consider. All of his ideas were helpful and made sense for the kitchen. Rich has a keen eye for design and structure. Once the demolition and construction began, Mike and crew were at our house promptly each day, worked as a team the whole day, and cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. Mike had suggestions as we went along for how to address specific issues (type of backsplash to consider, what type of corner to have for granite countertop, alignment of the pendant lights, and more). Mike has a real eye for style and knows what works. His suggestions were always great. Mike also pays attention to every detail, and will not consider his work done until all of the details are taken care of. We have had several experiences with contractors over the years, but we have never been so completely satisfied with the workmanship, quality, honesty and reliability of M3. Mike and his company are the finest in the business. 5 Stars! read more

I'm writing this review because I believe in M3. Mike is a good guy, smart and focused. He runs his company like I would run a construction firm -- that is, he is a hands-on owner who works alongside his crew and so supervises directly. That setup is the best for quality assurance. So I have absolutely no doubts about their quality workmanship. However, he was a lot more ambitious with ideas for our remodel than our budget would allow, yet we also never received an actual quote verbally or written. Honestly, that sealed my decision. He was kinda feeling us out I suppose, and I can't blame him for trying to inspire us. But in the end I thought money would be the issue. When you have an entire house that needs cosmetic and structural work, ya keep things simple. read more

Mike Moniz is a great find! I could not be happier with the job M3 did on my project. From the timely estimate to the finished project, Mike has proven to be skilled, professional and attentive. I called Mike to build a knee wall and install a cabinet to replace an old iron railing between my living room and dining room. Mike was able to come over the evening I called and emailed me an estimate less than 48 hours later. The project took a day and a half and he showed up on time each day, stayed on site working with his employee, put in over an 8 hour day, and cleaned up the area before leaving. I think I was most impressed that he took the time to go over what was done, what he still needed to finish, and to make sure I was getting the finished product I expected. His pricing was fair and the craftsmanship is excellent. I'll definitely call him first for my next project. read more

I was recently in a bind when a previous contractor caused a master bathroom leak that caused the flooring to be removed for remediation.
