We converted two rooms plus a hallway into a master suite as well as split two large upstairs rooms into three. We had structural concerns and lots of logistics to work out and I wouldn't trust anyone other than Mike to draw up the plans to make sure everything is safe and up to code. Al oversaw the projects and was in constant communication with us and regularly was on site to make sure everything was going smoothly. If anything wasn't 100% correct or what we had discussed, he would make sure it was remedied. Big shout out to Franz who even showed up to work the day after his wife had a baby! The M3 team worked late days and on weekends (with our consent) to meet their deadlines, even when the county held them up with permitting issues they still worked hard to finish within our timeframe. We even made major changes to our plans after construction had begun and they were able to pivot and help us get more square footage for the upstairs bedrooms. There were also numerous curveballs that they handled with ease (ya never know what you'll get with an old house). This was our first time doing any sort of large project and the team at M3 gave us plenty of guidance and support to make sure the finished product exceeded our expectations. Upon removal, I noticed that the stairs were not only badly damaged (from a previous owner's work), but were failing in multiple areas when accessed underneath. This was no longer a home improvement project, but now became a safety issue. I contacted Jonathan on a Tuesday afternoon letting him know that we had a staircase that was in need of repair. I reached out to 10 companies (that listed on their Yelp reviews that they offered carpentry) requesting a carpenter or carpentry skills, but only Jonathan and another company indicated that they could repair stairs that were damaged and in need of repair. The other company was not as responsive and indicated that they were fully booked through the summer, and that they didn't have the time. After texting and calling Jonathan throughout the day Tuesday, Jonathan indicated that he would come out the following morning to assess the damage with one of his highly skilled employees. Jonathan and his skilled carpenter were timely and direct in what needed addressed. He indicated that we would replace 10 of the 13 treads, and that they would reinforce all of the stairs underneath with 2x4's and other materials. Jonathan and his skilled carpenter were not only efficient, timely, and responsive, but the quality exceeded all expectations. Jonathan's carpenter worked nonstop Wednesday (not even a break!) and finished ahead of schedule on Thursday. The high quality work was much more than we had anticipated, and the price was reasonable (considering the urgency and timing). I highly recommend Jonathan and his company. We plan to use them for improvements and projects. Top Notch!

I did not have a good experience at all with this company. First, they changed project managers on…read moreme just before they came out to do that work without explanation. When the work started, they moved at a glacier pace with erratic attendance. There were days they did not show up at all, other days they would show up unexpectedly at 7am, and leave at 10am. This was never communicated with me. Next, mistakes started happening. They painted the walls the wrong color. They put up the shower door on the wrong side. They also put up the window blind backwards so I couldn't reach or use the rod to open and close it. After the shower door went up backwards, the project manager fired the workers, but the had no one to finish the work. When they finally came back to fix the shower tiles wrecked when the door went up on the wrong side, they didn't align the replacement tile patterns with each other so the pattern is disjointed and doesn't line up at all. The project manager told me it's not supposed to line up!? After complaining about it 3 times, they finally offered to replace the tiles. But they stalled on ordering them and now it's out of stock. There are also other problems - the shower faucets are not properly secured to the shower walls, the vanity light is separating from the wall and the light switch fixture is also separating from the wall. The floor tile is irregular with grout lines sometimes thick in places, other times nonexistent. Currently, they are not returning my calls or texts. I've even reached out to the owner who came out and promised to fix everything, but commented that I was overly concerned with "small" details. Now he has not returned my calls or texts about when he will come to fix things. Maybe I am concerned with details but I'd think that is common when paying 20k to have a bathroom redone according to an approved plan. At the very least, I expected that shower tile patterns would match up and that things would be well grouted or secured in shower and on walls. This was my first renovation in my first home and I'm so disappointed in how it turned out and how I was treated by the team. Also, this 2 week project took 5 and 1/2 weeks to get to where it is now. Overall the project was done carelessly with no attention to detail and with no acceptance of their mistakes and no attempt to repair the problems identified. I see they have had good reviews in the past, but my project did not go well at all. I would definitely recommend choosing another company. When I first complained they asked me not to write a bad review and I said that along as everything was fixed we had a deal. Nothing has been fixed and they are not communicating with me. I know have to either pay another company more money to fix their mistakes or take legal action to resolve the simple issues that could be easily fixed. If detail and having a project done to your liking is important I would not recommend H&C at all.
