Alex is super communicative and makes everything incredibly straightforward. We had a combination of fence and deck repairs and deck staining work needed. Alex quickly scheduled a quote which was more than fair, and then got under way with the work quickly as well. Our deck looks brand new once again, our fence is once gain standing tall and straight. Hiring work like this can always be a crapshoot - very glad to have found D&R, who provided great work and made it dead simple. read more

Alex did a great job! He stained our fence and deck posts. He is very responsive and very happy with his work!

From start to finish (i.e., through the initial quote and signing the contract to the actual day of work), Alex was very responsive and professional. He was able to get us added to the work schedule quickly, which was appreciated. He and his team did a great job replacing my deck railing and staining the whole deck! read more

Alex and his guys did a fantastic job putting up a privacy fence. I wanted a 6ft high wooden fence, about 75 ft long. I asked five people to give their assessments and quotes. One (W&M Services) gave a quote of 6k, outrageous. Another (ES Deck Construction) gave a quote of 3k but was horrible at communicating. I ended with Alex and his team at 3300. Alex was very professional and responsive. I was a bit hesitant with the required 30% deposit prior to the job starting since there are so many scammers out there nowadays but rest assured, you are in good hands with Alex. On the first day, they arrived on time and started working immediately, demolishing the existing fence and installing posts. The second day, they installed the picket pieces and everything else. One slight inconvenience is that the guys on the job only speak Russian so it was difficult communicating with them. I've always been good at pictionary but even here, it was a struggle. By the end of the job, the yard was clean of debris and had a beautiful fence that both my neighbor and I can enjoy! They also provide a two year warranty! read more

What a great job this team did on my deck! They came out and tackled my deck repair in 100 degree heat and didn't complain at all! Thank you, it looks beautiful! read more

Last July 2020, we had Deck and Restoration replace our fence on two sides, the back and the right side (we live in a townhouse). They were the most responsive and were reasonably priced. Alex was very communicative with my husband and he was willing to come out for an in-person estimate in the middle of COVID, when another company refused. They offered a 2 year warranty on our fence. It took about two days of steady work for them to tear down, haul away, and put up our new fence. We made sure to stain it with a clear coat to protect it and one year later, it still looks great. See for yourself! I would definitely recommend them. read more

Alex is a criminal. He promised to repair my fence but, instead replaced one post and nailed in a couple screws and charged me $950. He asked I pay cash upfront because he's a scam artist and he was planning to rip me off. Alex didn't do any of the work but rather left his one worker at my home for 2 hours to do nothing. They didn't stain the fence or replace any of the rotted wood. My HOA didn't approve the repair and agreed Alex robbed me. Do yourself a favor and find anyone else to repair your fence. I'm going to be taking Alex to court for failing to repair my fence as agreed upon. He's absolutely horrible. *** Updated review upon receiving Alex's response*** I'm responding to Alex's post in regards to my review. He is not honest or trustworthy. I have followed up with Alex since he left many times, asking him to repair the hole in my fence, asking him to stain my fence, basically asking him to repair my fence only to be told that it'll cost more money. His response to my review is not actually how he does business. I stand by my review that this company is dishonest and Alex is a crook. read more

Very impressive. Alex looked at my deck and recommended his company sand and prime it. Gave me an excellent quote. Sent out a young man that was meticulous. I could not be happier and highly recommend you contact Alex and let him offer his services. read more

Easiest and most efficient process ever. I reached out to these guys for a quote via yelp mid afternoon and had a contractor at my house the very next morning to give me an estimate on the actual work. Talk about fast! He saw what needed to be fixed which wasn't big at all but definitely a hazard for my tenants, and simply completed the job in no time that very next day. Pricing wasn't crazy and communication was excellent, I would recommend this company in a heartbeat. No complaints here! read more

I called a couple of popular local companies to re-finish my deck - one didn't return my call and one never answered the phone numbers listed for them. When I submitted an online request for info., Alex was in touch within the hour and came out the next day to do an estimate. Estimate clearly defined the work to be done (and at a good price). Within days (only 30% pymt up front needed) the work was being done by a very timely and professional team. Excellent work, looks great! read more

It's summer time and we are ready to hang out on our deck for memorial day weekend. Unfortunately, the previous winter season caused havoc to our wood deck. We knew immediately that a few boards needed to be replaced and the entire deck be re-stained. I emailed Alex at Deck and Restoration LLC a few pics of the deck. Alex provided a excellent quote to reassure the loose railings, replace any damaged wood and restained the deck. Due to his booked schedule, he squeezed us in the "summer project rush" before memorialday weekend. The project took about 1 week to complete. We are very pleased with how the project turned out and ready to get our summer BBQ rolling! read more

Alex and his team did a fantastic job redoing and staining our deck in Petworth DC. Our deck was built several months ago by the developers we bought our house from and it needed some help. Alex provided a very reasonable quote that include fixing warped boards, enclosing gaps in the fence, and sanding and staining the deck and all fencing. He was able to start work well within the 6 week time frame he quoted us and his team finished all the work in 3 days, start to finish. Alex is meticulous about checking details and made sure each part of the job was completed diligently. Everyone was great to work with and we would definitely recommend them. read more

I reached out to Alex through his website and was impressed by the immediate response. I submitted the form in the morning and he planned on coming in the afternoon to provide an estimate, keeping me posted on his ETA throughout the day ultimately arriving earlier than expected. I showed him the deck, explained my concerns, and answered his questions. He took measurements and said he'd provide me with an estimate by the end of the day. True to his word by early evening I had an estimate from him that laid out the costs clearly. Ultimately it was higher than we can afford at the moment but if how he engaged and kept to his schedule is any indication of his work, I would not hesitate to work with him. read more

Deck and Restorations has poor communication skills. They are not reliable to come when they promise. They promise fix rate quotes, but change more than the estimate. The work turned out well, but not worth the hassle it took to get there. I noticed they refinished hardwood floors. I need mine done, but I wouldn't consider using them because the hassle took the pleasure out of the experience. BPJ read more

Alex and his guys did a fantastic job restoring my deck. Replaced rotten wood and stained it. Very thorough job with reasonable quote. Highly recommend. read more

I had some normal wear and tear on a 25 year old deck and got about 3 or 4 estimates on the repairs. Alex was on the higher end of the estimates, but only slightly. I went with them because they had nothing but positive customer feedback and they were the most responsive of all the other contractors. As it turned out, I made a great decision. Alex was upfront and transparent with what should and should not be repaired, and he even came out a second time to adjust the estimate after my neighbor's contracted roof workers had a mishap that damaged the my deck surface. As for the work, they completed it in a timely matter, it looked terrific, and they left everything spotless when they left. I recommend Alex and his team. read more

Alex came and gave us a quote for a new Trex deck that was half the price of three other companies. They arrived on time, worked very hard and cleaned up after themselves everyday. They finished the deck within 5 days and it looks great. I would recommend this company without hesitation. read more

We are extremely happy with the deck we received from Deck and Restoration DMV. Alex and his crew were always on time, exceptionally efficient, and very professional. We got a very good deal on our deck and couldn't be happier. We would strongly recommend them to anyone looking to replace or repair their deck. read more

We needed a deck and landing resurfaced and a long stair to the driveway removed. Alex and his crew could not have been better. Alex is an excellent communicator. We knew what was going to happen at every step of the project. His workers are excellent and the product really shows it. They were respectful of our property and cleaned up debris as the job progressed. Deck and Restoration is that rare contractor who delivers on all promises, stays on budget, produces quality work, and leaves you with a good feeling when they are done. I highly recommend them. read more

Our fence was getting old but I didn't want to pay for a completely new fence. So when I came across D&R I gave them a call. Their prices were very reasonable and their work top notch. I also had Alex take a look at my mother's deck and he noticed some serious support issues and was able to reinforce it. And the best part was they were able to give me an estimate and do the work in about 1 week. Would definitely use them again. read more

I had a great experience with Deck & Restoration. When I started my project I reached out to 3 different top rated (on Yelp) deck repair companies in my area. Of the 3 I reached out to Deck & Restoration was the quickest to respond and also the fastest to get out to my location to do a free estimate. I was working on a limited budget so I had to get creative with what I could get done. I communicated with Alex (Oleksandr) via email multiple times over 2 days and he probably sent me 5 different quotes until we settled on one. His crew was on site doing the work two days later. Honestly it was a welcome surprise considering all of the challenges I've been having with scheduling delays and lack of inventory during this pandemic. This company is a diamond in the rough. read more

Deck and Restoration did a great job with a privacy fence repair job that I needed. There were terrible winds some weeks back that knocked over one side of fence with a rotted post. Alex was very quick to get the job done and very responsive. Great communication, quality work and on schedule. read more

Wanted to repair our backyard fence rather than replace it. Two previous companies I contacted weren't interested. Alex was very responsive and the job was ultimately 1/3 the price of a new fence. From initial call to completion it was about two weeks. He kept us informed that the price would be $700+ higher than the quote because many of the posts that had to be replaced were improperly installed too. We're happy with the work and hope the fence lasts a long while more. read more

Super quick service. The team replaced my decaying metal fence and removed a lot of foliage that was hanging around. Alex replied really fast to my quote and started work ASAP. I am very happy with the end result and so are my pups read more

It's rare that I give five stars to a contractor, but it's rare to encounter a contractor who checks ~all~ of my boxes. Alex responded very quickly to each and every message. He readily agreed to my two requests when I signed the contract: a) work begins within 30 days of deposit and b) he would give me a 48 hour head's up "hard start" date so I could notify neighbors of the fence replacement. The workers showed up exactly as expected and worked diligently, taking time to get it right. All trash was collected each day, leaving the site free of debris and looking good. Care was taken to align the new fence posts perfectly on my sloping hill, and after a section was completed the workers went back and brushed out the soil - something I consider above and beyond. They were gentle with the shrubbery around the work area and nothing was damaged. When there was concern over a tree near the fence line, Alex asked if we could cut it down. When I said no he didn't argue, just adjusted as needed and made it work. The crew also didn't complain when they encountered an unexpected issue with some existing concrete that had to be excavated. They stacked a few leftover panels under my deck in case of replacements and left my yard looking great. The final result (replacing a rotted wooden privacy fence with a white vinyl one) is outstanding and neighbors are already asking for contact information to replace their fences. The price was perfectly reasonable and very fair market value. I would not only hire this company again but have already requested a quote for another project. read more
