Read my experience, then read the rest of the negative reviews of this place, and see if you can spot the common theme. I brought an old road bike here with the idea of having it converted to a single speed. I had intended to do the work myself, but since I hadn't gotten around to it in over a year, I decided to just bring it in and save myself the hassle. I chose this place because it was close by. As soon as I explained what I wanted, the diminutive owner started trying to sell me a new bike. He kept going on and on about what an amazing machine he would set me up with. To paint a picture, this little guy is like a pushy salesman from a bad sitcom. His routine was almost funny until he realized I wasn't going to buy, and then he just became nasty. I told him that I already had a nice road bike, and that I wasn't interested in spending $1000 on a grocery-getter. He looked up at me and replied, with a completely straight face, that if I could convert my old bike for less than that, then I must have stolen the parts. He seriously said that! He even went so far as to tear down a stolen bike flyer from the wall, crumple it up for dramatic effect, and tell me that bike was missing because somebody stole it to sell for parts. I basically just laughed in his tiny face, and walked out. I can't speak about anyone else on the staff here, since I only dealt with the little owner. Some other reviewers have praised the mechanics, so I assume they are perfectly competent. I imagine working here must require a thick skin, since the little owner's customer service persona is probably an example of him putting his best face forward. Imagine being such a pathetic little man that resorting to temper tantrums is what makes you feel big in the world. Again, if you think I'm embellishing, all you have to do is read through the rest of the reviews and see for yourself who the main character in all of the bad experiences turns out to be. Still not convinced? Stop in and see for yourself. In case you're wondering, I ultimately ended up doing the conversion myself, and the total cost was around $250 and a few hours of my time.

Bring Bring! Oh don't mind me, I am just rolling up on my BRIGHT GREEN Jolly Bike!…read more Know what? I bet my bike is cooler than yours! Oh no you say? Well unless you are one of those super cool bikers that built and painted their own bike, my bike is TOTALLY cooler ;) I bought my bike from Telca and Monet, two awesome women who run Jolly Bike, a small company out of Arlington that imports Gazelle bikes RIGHT from Amsterdam and sells them at summer festivals in Boston! So what REALLY makes my bike cool? For starters, its a girly bike, with a fully covered chain, so I can easily wear dresses, skirts or cute coats without having to worry about anything getting caught. Then, the bike lock is built in! It just locks the wheels in place and I take away the key, which is awesome since I hate carrying a lock while riding! Its a little heavy, but its worth if for all the features! Oh, and did I mention my bike is bright green? I guess Gazelle the company only makes a set number in REALLY cool colors like purple, green, orange! And then Monet custom paints the the colorful side panels for you with WHATEVER you want! I currently have the ones it came with from last summer, red with flowers, but I am getting them to paint me new ones this summer! So really, I have LOVE for all bikes! I am sure, as long as your love yours, its just as cool as mine! But mine is pretty cool ;)

I've always wanted a bike like the ones the Dutch cruise around on. Now you can get one! They size them and have a test lot out back to ensure comfort and fit for their needs. Their pricing is probably higher or on par with other spots, but it's the price you pay for the level of focused customer service. With that said, a few notes to be aware of: - they do not carry Trek (space limitations) - it will take time. I figured we'd be in and out, but it's a smaller space so it takes a bit of patience to maneuver within - budget an hour or so if you have a confident rider and know what you want, more if tentative - the folks all seemed like they were working their darnedest to keep everyone happy and taken care of - you don't get that every where nowadays. There were 2-3 families each time we dropped by, so it's a hidden local gem. Help keep our communities local and visit spots like this instead of the big box retailers.

But they completely messed up shipping my bike to California for a long distance trip (I gave specific directions for the date it needed to arrive - they let my bike sit in the shop for three days and then shipped it the slowest possible way - it did NOT ARRIVE IN TIME FOR MY TRIP!!) They took NO responsibility for any of this. Sometimes they act as if you count for nothing if you are not a "serious" cyclist. I've been ignored, demeaned, talked down to, walked away from. You never know what you are going to get!

I was told to come back tomorrow. I tried calling the next day, but nobody answered the phone so I showed up they didn't remember me. I told him I had purchased a scooter yesterday with my coworker, and then they went to look for it and they said it still wasn't ready and they needed to charge it . I came back the following day called again. No answer showed up didn't know who I was again reminded him an went to get my scooter ready for me to take one problem, though there was no charger with the brand new scooter. He could not find it. So he gave me a charger from behind the counter fast forward to today, May 5, 2026. I tried calling again no answer so I drove in. Doors were locked. Lights are on went to the front and back entrance. No sign of anyone one last check I see the guy who sold me the scooter in the window. I motion to him to come over. He comes over. he lets me in. I tell him about my scooter, he tells me to bring it in. I told him the back brake is no longer working, and my rear tire was making a grinding noise. He told me I could leave it to fill out my information before leaving. I asked him when he thought somebody would be able to take a look at it and he told me about a month. He stated the technician wasn't in today and that they had a backlog of scooters that needed to be repaired, which he pointed to in the corner and then told me there was multiple down in the basement of the same model. I told him that wasn't an option for me to wait over a month and that the scooter is still under warranty for another five months he tried to refer me to a scooter shop in Cambridge, which I live nowhere near and not paying for something that was under warranty. I then asked him what to do and he told me to call Segway the scooter company. And then again referred me to the scooter shop in Cambridge, which I had to reiterate that was not an option and I am not paying for something that is still under warranty. I asked him for Segway's number which he told me he did not have and to "Google it". My only dealings with this place twice have not been good and not the best customer service to say the least. Scooters were $1100 with tax and are under warranty for another five months and they are telling me I have to wait over a month to even get it looked at. Unacceptable!
