He helped me find the exact bikes for my needs and offered to build my top choice so I could test it out (it was a difference size than what they had on the floor). Everything was great until the owner, Charles, came over. He totally tanked the sale. He forbid his employee from taking the bike out of the box and told me I had to drop $1,000 to buy it before I could even sit on it. Unbelievable way to do business. Charles didn't just lose a sale, he lost a local customer who was planning to bring three bikes (including an e-bike) there for service. After meeting the owner I wouldn't trust them not to rip me off. We went to Landry's instead and had a much better experience. Avoid Casa/Amped.

I booked a service for Monday June 1, the soonest they had available. It didn't occur to me to look at their days/hours, because I had been sent a booking link, and those typically only allow booking when the business is open and has availability. On June 1 I took the afternoon off, biked over from Roxbury, and the place was closed. E-mailed and texted. Received a reply confirming they were closed and blaming the booking company. No real apology, no offer of a discount or anything to make it right, not even an offer to get me in as soon as possible. This is not anything like how I was taught to provide customer service when the business royally screws up and wastes someone's time. EDIT: The owner has now offered me 20% off, though is maintaining that they are confused as to why "the booking company" allowed that booking. The booking link still shows openings every day of the week. Why are you using software that requires contact with a company to make changes rather than the industry standard that lets you make changes to your own availability in your portal any time you want?

Drop-off, communication of work plan, and pick-up were all efficient and easy. It took me four years to find since moving back to Boston, but this is my new place.

Because of the misunderstanding they offered us a 50% discount for the future, which we were excited to use. We planned another trip up and when I called, Steve advised me to book the reservation and he'd apply the discount afterwards. We rented 2 e-bikes for $200, and had a nice day riding around the north shore. At the time we picked them up, Steve mentioned that he owed us the discount. We dropped them off at the end of the day and everything seemed good. Unfortunately it was never applied I've heard zilch from Steve since then. I've emailed multiple times about it and gotten no response. At this point it's been a month. Presumably since we've paid he just doesn't care? In the end, we had been willing to pay full price the first time around, but it's really disappointing to get a bait-and-switch like this.

From the easy to use website with up to date information, to the person answering the phones who knew exactly what was in stock and had the bike I was interested in locked up outside ready for me to ride, it was an absolute pleasure to buy a new bike with zero snags. The selection in this store is much bigger than it might first appear- they're known for cargo bikes and an increasingly large supply of electric cargos, but they have kid's balance bikes and the lovely step through commuter bike in the pic, too. Their website is very easy to search for what you want in advance. You can also get all the things you need to put your new bike in use from racks, bags, baskets, bells, gear, and safety supplies. It was fast and easy to select high quality items and they attached it all so my bike was done and ready to take home that day. Another huge advantage over the first time I bought a perfect bike- bike lanes! You can try your new bike in a safe bike lane before cutting back to the store on a side street then a less well traveled road. Gives you a little descent, little bumpiness, and a little ascent so you can get a real feel for the bike. I love that there's no pressure, just a plan to help you find what works best for you.
