Wonderful local bike shop with a great vibe. Jim and the crew are really friendly and helpful. Bike repairs are fairly priced and they really know what they are doing. Jim really took the time to find out what I wanted and needed repaired and upgraded. He was very communicative during the process, letting me know when there were issues encountered that were unexpected. It gave me the sense that they cared a lot about the work and their customers. I brought two bikes to Battle Road Bikes. One was a bike that I purchased 2 years ago that I upgraded with a number of new components shortly after buying it. The other bike was newly purchased by me in Sept from a dealer in Florida after being unable to find this particular bike locally. I asked Jim to transfer all of the upgraded components that I had installed on my old bike onto the new bike and to reinstall the original components from my old bike back onto it, so that it will be restored to the way it was when I originally purchased it. That bike is now for sale by me. Jim and his team did an excellent job on both bikes. Whenever we spoke on the telephone or swapped emails, Jim, Matt or others on his team always had the answers to my questions and knew exactly where they were in the process of working on the two bikes. The personal service I received was outstanding. The level of expertise demonstrated and their willingness to discuss everything that they were doing and why they were doing it convinced me that I had made the right decision to have the work done by Battle Road Bikes. I got a new ebike at Battle this summer and have had to go back three times in about a month to deal with different issues. First it hadn't been fully prepped for riding. Tires were only half inflated (I fixed this, no issue there) and brake pads weren't aligned. Bigger issue was brakes making a terrible gurgling sound from the very beginning. The staff were nice and genuinely thoughtful about the issue. I believe them that ultimately it is a manufacturer problem with low quality pads. So rather than making them deal with a warranty claim to the manufacturer I agreed to just pay for them to install new brake pads to fix the problem once and for all. I finally go back to pick up the bike when they tell me it is done, only to find out that they only replaced the pads on the rear wheel. The guy just said casually, oh yeah we didn't have pads in stock for the front one. Ugh. So now I have a half squeaky bike and I'm done schlepping back over there to deal with things. read more

Love this shop! Employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and actually seem to really like riding bikes. Head and shoulders above other shops in the area. I had a great experience buying fairly priced accessories, and I was really pleased to have my bike thoroughly taken care of during a recent in-depth tune-up. Learned a lot about my bike in the process as the mechanics were happy to chat. Best part was that they took care of me when I brought the bike back in a few weeks later with a minor complaint, and they were able to fix it, quickly, free-of-charge, and with a really nice attitude. I ride a bike recreationally for 5 to 10 miles every day all year round. I know a lot less about bikes than I would like to know. I had stopped in Battle Road Bikes a couple of times with technical questions and was impressed with the answers Jim gave me. I don't pay much attention to maintaining my bike, although I do think about it a lot. Recently one of my 5 year old brake cables snapped. When I brought the bike into Battle Road Bikes to be repaired, Jim explained to me in a clear and concise way that a few other parts needed to be replaced. The repair was done very quickly and at a reasonable price. It's been a long time that my bike rides as smoothly as it does now. I don't know if I will become any better about maintaining my bike in the future, but I do know for all future repairs I will have them done at Battle Road Bikes.
