He helped me find the exact bikes for my needs and offered to build my top choice so I could test it out (it was a difference size than what they had on the floor). Everything was great until the owner, Charles, came over. He totally tanked the sale. He forbid his employee from taking the bike out of the box and told me I had to drop $1,000 to buy it before I could even sit on it. Unbelievable way to do business. Charles didn't just lose a sale, he lost a local customer who was planning to bring three bikes (including an e-bike) there for service. After meeting the owner I wouldn't trust them not to rip me off. We went to Landry's instead and had a much better experience. Avoid Casa/Amped.

Additionally, they didn't fully clean the cassette and chain and I spent another hour of my time finishing their terrible work. It's a shame that I tried to support a local business and had this terrible of an experience.

This store is small, but has all the essentials a biker would be looking for. They had several different bike seat options for me to choose from. We also looked at bike racks, and the gentleman helping me was very patient and helpful, showing me all the differences in sizes and features. When I finally made up my mind on which seat to get, he quickly installed it for me and I was able to write off on my new cushiony seat! We also purchased a patch repair kit to keep with my bike. As we were leaving, someone else came in the store that was a regular and commented on how great the service was. This might become my new go to bike shop!

The staff is super nice and always happy to guide to the section you are looking for. They are also helpful if you are returning an item or exchanging and I love their commitment to sustainability in the community as well. I always see people down in the bike/repair area so that seems to be a super convenient option to have for a the cyclists in Boston. From the easy to use website with up to date information, to the person answering the phones who knew exactly what was in stock and had the bike I was interested in locked up outside ready for me to ride, it was an absolute pleasure to buy a new bike with zero snags. The selection in this store is much bigger than it might first appear- they're known for cargo bikes and an increasingly large supply of electric cargos, but they have kid's balance bikes and the lovely step through commuter bike in the pic, too. Their website is very easy to search for what you want in advance. You can also get all the things you need to put your new bike in use from racks, bags, baskets, bells, gear, and safety supplies. It was fast and easy to select high quality items and they attached it all so my bike was done and ready to take home that day. Another huge advantage over the first time I bought a perfect bike- bike lanes! You can try your new bike in a safe bike lane before cutting back to the store on a side street then a less well traveled road. Gives you a little descent, little bumpiness, and a little ascent so you can get a real feel for the bike. I love that there's no pressure, just a plan to help you find what works best for you.
