One of those days... - A bicycle wheel with a flat tire is shown on a concrete ground, with part of the chain and frame visible, along with some gear components.
    Marla C.

I was riding my bike near the Middlesex Fells yesterday and got a flat. Luckily, AAA was able to pick up me and my bike. I initially called Wheel Works in Somerville to ask if I could drop off the bike so they could fix the flat either Saturday or Monday. I didn't expect them to fix it right away. But, without giving a reason, they said I couldn't drop it off. Even though I bought my bike there and had just had it in for a tune-up a month earlier. So, I called Bike Boom. Not only did he say yes right away, but when I arrived he offered to fix the tire even though they were closing in half an hour, which I didn't expect. I was so grateful that I didn't have to be without my bike for the weekend and return to pick it up another day. I so appreciate how kind they were! If you are looking for a bike shop with outstanding customer service, Bike Boom is it!!! Thank you!

Amazing! Went above and beyond in service. As a first time bike owner, I needed a lot of advice and the owner was kind enough to help.

Nice bunch of folks. Prompt and honest. Pricing is reasonable. There is a considerable wait time for tune ups, so plan ahead.

So many bike shops (Ace Wheelworks, cough cough) have employees that are very rude and condescending to me.

Their stock of bikes currently turns really fast as bike supplies across the country are selling faster than stock can come in from overseas, this is a problem all bike shops are having right now with manufacturing delays due to the pandemic. Luckily, Cambridge bike also does custom builds as well as rebuilds on old bikes so there is definitely a way to get you riding even if a new bike isn't currently in stock. They carry some great brands of bikes and accessories, service department is top notch, and they value positive customer experiences and relationships over just making a sale like some bike shops seem to be around here. I 100% recommend Cambridge Bicycle to anyone in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, etc! They are the epitome of a GREAT and honest neighborhood bike shop.

Upon picking up my bike a piece of my bike (an axle key, branded with my bike brand) was missing. Additionally, they didn't fully clean the cassette and chain and I spent another hour of my time finishing their terrible work. The shop not only had incredibly rude customer service (including hanging up on me) and did not propose a resolution. Do not take your business here. It's a shame that I tried to support a local business and had this terrible of an experience.

From the easy to use website with up to date information, to the person answering the phones who knew exactly what was in stock and had the bike I was interested in locked up outside ready for me to ride, it was an absolute pleasure to buy a new bike with zero snags. The selection in this store is much bigger than it might first appear- they're known for cargo bikes and an increasingly large supply of electric cargos, but they have kid's balance bikes and the lovely step through commuter bike in the pic, too. Their website is very easy to search for what you want in advance. You can also get all the things you need to put your new bike in use from racks, bags, baskets, bells, gear, and safety supplies. It was fast and easy to select high quality items and they attached it all so my bike was done and ready to take home that day. Another huge advantage over the first time I bought a perfect bike- bike lanes! You can try your new bike in a safe bike lane before cutting back to the store on a side street then a less well traveled road. Gives you a little descent, little bumpiness, and a little ascent so you can get a real feel for the bike. I love that there's no pressure, just a plan to help you find what works best for you. So happy with my purchase!

Seriously considering taking my (non-Trek) bike here in the future for any repairs or maintenance. We were heading back home when I got a flat right in front of Trader Joe's across the street. Thankfully my husband remembered there was a Trek in the nearby plaza. The guys in the store couldn't be nicer! My tire was fixed, my pressure was upped, and I was back in business in less than half an hour. Addison in particular was really kind and didn't make me feel dumb for asking a question. Superb customer service, not enough good things to say. Also, if you're any sort of trail nerd, the store itself is pretty cool with photos on the walls of nearby trails laying out the distance and route.
