I can't say enough good things about this place. I came in on a whim to see what they had in stock and they happened to have a bike I was interested in. Ryan worked on the bike for a while, without charging extra. He even showed me how to apply oil to the gears and made suggestions for potential fixes to the brakes. Best customer service around!

    Beautiful new bike!

I don't normally write reviews but this place is AMAZING. I went to a couple of bike shops in Boston which were all disappointing but this place really blew me away. I got a beautiful new bike from here and Ryan went above and beyond setting it up for me. Everyone was so kind and knowledgeable. I have been back twice for tune ups and each time I go Ryan takes the time to make sure I have all my bike needs taken care of. I always learn so much when I'm there and appreciate their patience, attention to detail, and down to earth attitude. Favorite bike shop in town hands down. If you need a bike or a tune up go here!!!

Excited to ride my new bike - Thanks Cambridge Used Bicycles!!

I've been looking for a bike for the last month (calling local bike shops, looking at Craigslist, stalking FB marketplace) and finally found one at Cambridge Used Bicycles. Ryan was super helpful in answering all of my questions, letting me test ride the bike, and adjusting the bike so it fit me perfectly. It was a great experience, and I highly recommend CUB. They did say their inventory is a bit limited and goes quick due to the pandemic so I definitely recommend getting to the shop when it opens.

I got this amazing gem from them!

Please let me mirror what everyone else said: this place is, indeed, a hidden jem that everyone ought to know about! After I graduated from undergrad in Quincy, I moved up to Cambridge. I remember how excited I was to get a bicycle so I could traverse the city easier. Looking around, I wasn't ready to dish out $800+ on a new bike, nor did I want to bring my clunky Huffy (from when I was 8) up to the city. A friend recommended I check out Menotomy (in the basement of Cambridge Antiques in East Cambridge) and that was probably the best advise I have ever gotten. As I walked down the stairs, I was immediately approached by one of the guys who works there. Sometimes when I am approached like that, I get anxious and nervous because I have no idea what I am doing or what I want. No fear, though, these guys made me feel so comfortable. They were able to answer any silly question I had about the bikes. The selection was great! I still remember walking down the stairs, I had my eye on this beautiful yellow bike. I couldn't be more excited! After riding it around in the back yard, that was the one I wanted! For only $250.00, it was quite the bargain! I believe they offered quite a great deal where if I had any problems, I could take it back and they would look at it; but that was not the case. I proudly road Col. Mustard around Boston and Cambridge for a few years before I retired him for a road bike. Bottom line: you need to go here and check out their selection before going anywhere else. The bikes may be older, but they are amazing.

Poor selection the day I went. Nice people that run the shop though. There wasn't even a bike there I could potentially consider.

Love to Ryan and Spiros. It's even better now that you don't have to go downstairs in the flea market.

From the easy to use website with up to date information, to the person answering the phones who knew exactly what was in stock and had the bike I was interested in locked up outside ready for me to ride, it was an absolute pleasure to buy a new bike with zero snags. The selection in this store is much bigger than it might first appear- they're known for cargo bikes and an increasingly large supply of electric cargos, but they have kid's balance bikes and the lovely step through commuter bike in the pic, too. Their website is very easy to search for what you want in advance. You can also get all the things you need to put your new bike in use from racks, bags, baskets, bells, gear, and safety supplies. It was fast and easy to select high quality items and they attached it all so my bike was done and ready to take home that day. Another huge advantage over the first time I bought a perfect bike- bike lanes! You can try your new bike in a safe bike lane before cutting back to the store on a side street then a less well traveled road. Gives you a little descent, little bumpiness, and a little ascent so you can get a real feel for the bike. I love that there's no pressure, just a plan to help you find what works best for you. So happy with my purchase!

They seem to pretty reliably get your bike back within 24 hours, and they diagnosed a tricky problem and came up with a very reasonable solution. They definitely seemed to know what they were doing. Seriously considering taking my (non-Trek) bike here in the future for any repairs or maintenance. We were heading back home when I got a flat right in front of Trader Joe's across the street. Thankfully my husband remembered there was a Trek in the nearby plaza. The guys in the store couldn't be nicer! My tire was fixed, my pressure was upped, and I was back in business in less than half an hour. Addison in particular was really kind and didn't make me feel dumb for asking a question. Superb customer service, not enough good things to say. Also, if you're any sort of trail nerd, the store itself is pretty cool with photos on the walls of nearby trails laying out the distance and route.
