Had what I needed. Everyone very friendly, good social distance guidelines marked in the store and staff was actively sanitizing.

DICK'S Sporting Goods - so jeffy

DICK'S Sporting Goods

(21 reviews)

$$

The Asst. Store Manager, Tatiana, was awesome. Professional, knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and…read moreso very smart; she helped me navigate a difficult purchase (expensivwe recumbent bike) with ease. She is a Dick's, Corporate Star in the making.

Was here a couple of days ago with my husband who was looking for a fleece neck gator for skiing…read more It's quite a big place with all kinds of recreational and sporting goods. For my shopping "tastes", this store is just too vast and overwhelming. It is a sea of merchandise. Well organized yes but just way too much stuff to take in. Despite all the "stuff" I didn't see bargains of any note...in fact...and this could just be me ...but I was astonished to see Nike women's sweatpants for $110.00. That seems like a lot of dough to lay out for sweatpants. I'd skip the name brand and the Nike logo and look for another deal. Better yet, don't wear sweatpants unless you're in the gym or running outside on a cold day as I am not sure who they are flattering on and I am so over seeing people running around everywhere in ill-fitting sloppy looking gym-wear. But for the gym-goers, and exercisers of all kinds, you will find all manner of clothing and equipment here...a fairly comprehensive seeming selection whatever your sport of choice might be. They also sell, t-shirts, specialized sports' shoes, lots of coolers and water bottles including the in my opinion ridiculous looking and now viral Stanley water bottles that everyone seems to be lugging around...tons of those! (I just read that in California there is a class action suit pending on these Stanley water bottles as the company has acknowledged the sealing material used for its vacuum insulation contains lead). I didn't see many staff throughout the store. The staff I did see seemed to be congregating up front so if I had had a question there would have been no one to ask without traipsing back up to the front where the registers are. And in a store as large as this, that's a pain. There are so many other places to get most of the things sold here but with better service and for me, with a more manageable store footprint and experience. If I'm not going to get a bargain, I'd rather spend my money at a smaller store with attentive service. Tom didn't find the neck gator he was looking for so we left without purchasing anything but for me, I can't imagine why I'd return.

West Marine - Life vests/ Life Jackets

West Marine

This is probably my favorite West Marine of the many we have in the greater Boston area. I like…read morethat it's spacious and easy to roam around. Given all the square footage they sell more items than the average West Marine including surfboards and kayaks. Our boat is being hauled and covered in a couple of weeks until next spring so there were a few things we needed. We found them here. The service is very friendly and accommodating. The staff seem to know what they are talking about. You certainly don't want to go into any specialty shop and find that they've hired just anyone. Whether you have a simple rowboat or a live aboard yacht, you'll find all the technical items you might need as well as some of the more fun accoutrements for your boating pleasure.

I went there because Monahan's was closed on the July 4th weekend. Like, the whole weekend. Like,…read morewhen I made a real push to get on the water. I've heard about Monahan's and West Marine before. they are relatively close together. I was lucky that they were open, although I still did not get my boat on the water, it was not due to lack of parts. they are slightly expensive, but open a lot. I think they were basically helpful, more like a walmart for boats than a boutique place. they have a large selection. I could see going back. Monahan's, I would be sure to call ahead of time. The large parking lot has a lot of bumps on the way out that will hurt cars with low clearance. I've not found that to be very satisfactory. I've not found a way to avoid it. I will have to try a different exit, but I really should not have to, I suspect the bumps are actually out of spec.
