OMBaked Goods! I could eat everything they make every single day and never grow tired. From the brownies to cakes and cookies. It's like an intoxication of all the sweet things. Our dog says the doggy biscuits are four paws up! It truly a sweet tooth's paradise.

I love quack's! Great selection of sweets: cakes, cookies, pastries. They have vegan options too, and dog treats. I love that it feels like a neighborhood spot, with friendly faces and warm service. I love the eclair, vegan cupcakes, and cookies.

Quack's is cute! A lovely little spot for a nice pick me up. I'm enjoying a matcha latte with almond milk and their experimental cardamom syrup! The baristas are so friendly! :) Not a ton of seating indoors but there are two tables outside where you can chill in the shade.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Ordered 5 items and 2 of them were wrong. Ordered a blueberry danish they gave a scone. Which the scone was extremely dry and ended up in the trash. Ordered a pink cookie for the kid they gave a purple cookie. Which we caught before we left. The salty oatmeal cookie had ok flavor but also over baked and dry. It seems pretty easy to get the order right when you're focused on the job. You're bagging it as we're ordering. But I guess you have to babysit and make sure you take every item out the bag and check before you leave. I assumed since we pointed at the items and said then it was understood what we wanted. Not the same experience I guess locals are content with.

This bakery speaks to why Austin is Austin. Amongst the city this is a gym of artistic bakery and simply good coffee. Do yourself a favor, come and indulge.

    Lemon Poppy Seed Slice

Was looking forward to a quick sweet treat, but got home and was soooo disappointed to see I paid $4.50 for a 5 day old slice of lemon poppy seed. At the very least this should've been heavily discounted for being 5 days old. It was so dry and just crumbled on the plate. :(

As a bakery, the baked goods were very good. The turkey and Swiss croissant was delicious, and I loved the big blueberries in the muffin. Visited on a Wednesday morning at around 10 am, but I'll have to say maybe this location is better for takeout. It took a bit longer than what I'd usually expect to get my drink orders (a latte and an iced coffee). Limited outdoor seating, and had to swat flies every couple of seconds.

Nice little pastry spot with creative cupcakes. There were a lot of people that came in after me so they get a lot of business. The cupcake was okay--not too bad, but nothing to rave about either. I received my items relatively quick after ordering them. I would like to try some other items, but for this trip I just bought a few cupcakes and shortbread cookies.

This makes me feel sad lol

I had just read on Reddit a couple days prior that this was recommended as an alternative to another Austin bakery. When I walked in I was surprised to find many older individuals sitting and chatting, so I thought there might be some kind of event. But it's probably just the demographics of the neighborhood! Based on the decor I can tell they're not trying to be a "trendy" bakery and remain true to their identity as a neighborhood business. They still had a good number of pastries available but I did get the last strawberry danish of the day (pictured). I also got the almond croissant. Their pre-made bread loaves all looked appetizing as well. I thought both pastries had good texture but could have used more filling/flavoring.

Don't get me wrong, the chocolate chip cookies were very good (soft, buttery, generous on the chocolate chips), but the lemon crinkle cookies were just out of this world. The mint ice cream was incredible because they used fresh mint, not mint extract or mint flavor so it tastes different than the regular mint chocolate chip ice cream we are all used to. I really liked it. They have a small window to order and the staff are very friendly. Definitely worth stopping by if you want a cookie or ice cream. The line moves fast.

Located in the corner of the plaza (next to the grocery store). Cute little bakery with a sweet older lady who speaks zero English but was nonetheless extremely welcoming and kind. She even gave my toddler a complimentary macaron. Sweet. I am usually pretty adventurous with trying new pastries/snacks and it generally works out well. Unfortunately, I did not like most of the things we took home that day (my husband agreed). A taro egg ball thing -- not fans. A gelatinous rice blob inside a bamboo leaf (believe it's called Zongzi) -- also didn't work for us. Finally, the beef puff (which seemed like a safe bet) fell short of expectations. It's my fault -- I ignored that part that said "beef floss." It had a stringy/processed texture that I just didn't like. I just wasn't a fan of the flavors/textures -- but obviously that's subjective. I did enjoy the garlic bread we also thankfully bought -- it was soft and flavorful. If you're not familiar with the foods, I'd recommend making sure you get a few "safe" items like the cream bread or garlic bread. Ultimately, even though I wasn't crazy about most of what I tried, it was a cute little shop with a nice lady running it.

I was craving Ube and might have gone a bit overboard on ordering dessert because they had so many Ube options. The building is colorful and decorated in bright pink with fun artwork and decor for an uplifting vibe. The line moved quickly and the service was friendly fast and efficient. I was able to place my order and pay with Apple Pay. I ordered the Taiyaki Sundae with black sesame and ube swirl soft serve served in a fish shaped mochi Belgian style waffle with Oreo dust on top. You can customize your sundae with filling like organic red sweet beans, Nutella or custard and toppings like Oreo dust, fruity pebbles or rainbow sprinkles. I ate this on site and the nutty black sesame balanced the sweet ube perfectly, and the Oreo topping added the best crunch. They had a variety of mochi donut flavors. Lucky for me, nothing was sold out today. I ordered the Oreo ube mochi donut and ube milk tea to-go. I ate the mochi donut later that day and it was probably my least favorite item from my order. It had the chewy mochi texture however I didn't get enough of the rich ube flavor. It had somewhat of a bitter aftertaste and the Oreo overpowered the ube. I drank the ube milk tea the next day and it was creamy, smooth, and not overly sweet. I really enjoyed the flavor profile of the beverage and would order it again. Overall, enjoyed my selections and will be back to try more dessert options and flavors from one of the most unique Asian dessert spots in Austin!
