Q-BBQ is a great low-key, 'it's okay if you come straight from the gym' spot. I was looking for a BBQ spot to stop at on my way home from the gym and decided to try it out. To order, you walk up to the cashier and they give you a number to take to your table, they bring the food to you when it's ready. My table got a variety of meal options with va sides and each one was scrumptious The outside patio was cute and since it was such a nice evening we ended up enjoying our food outside. All of our meals were very good and the portions were good for both the main meal and sides. I recommend the Mac and Cheese for the side, it was my personal favorite! If you're a big eater, the 2 Meats Plate would be perfect for you. My only complaint is that this spot only has 2 BBQ sauce options. One is a good spicy option and the other is a bit sweet-mixed together they were the perfect combo. I like having lots of flavors and enjoy trying different BBQ sauces and I was expecting more variety. I didn't feel like the limited options disrupted my meal or the flavors though. Everything was good! read more

We come here a lot. Probably eaten there about 15 times and had great service every time but once (And that was more than a year ago). The food has always been great. great. read more

This is by far the best BBQ joint in the Chicagoland area. The smoked turkey is so succulent and smoky flavored. My favorite on the menu. My wife's is the burnt brisket tips. Their ribs are excellent dry or slathered with their homemade sauces. I love this place. Drive for hours to get there. read more

It wasn't what I expected, the food was not great. It's a la-carte so be prepared to pay for all extras. I paid $10.99 for a brisket sandwich with 2 hush puppies, and there wasn't that much brisket inside my sandwich. Had to pay extra for coleslaw which I thought it would be on the side they put it on the sandwich. They should have explained that It was an alright place to eat. Disappointed. read more

If my mom could have named me BBQ it would have been apropo. Q-BBQ is a-freaking mazing. We ordered the sampler platter. I loved every single thing on that platter. Our sides were fries (delish) and macaroni and cheese (soooooo good). They have free pickles and free refills on pop. They have a 3 taco special which I am going to try!!! read more

Q-BBQ - First time - love me some BBQ - Barbeque Near Me - La Grange, Illinois

This was good barbecue for downtown laGrange! I really wanted to like it but it was so suburban. Not much oomph or barbecue sparkle to the food or the interior. A friend and I decided to go there for lunch because we were in the mood for some barbecue. We know that our options in the burbs are pretty slim so we decided to try Qs because a few people told us it was really really good barbecue. A little something to know about me and my friend and our eating adventures. We will go all over to get some good food. We will leave no hole in the wall unturned. That being said,we really wanted to Qs. Though we both left full and we had plenty of leftovers neither of us wanted to take them home. Where is a good old homeless person when you need it? That's right we're Lagrange. Shout out to laGrange, it's beautiful but the barbecue was a no go. We each had three meats plate. Brisket was dry, had to douse it In sauce. Waitress was nice enough to let me exchange it. Burnt ends were good, moist and seasoned well. My friend said chicken was good. We both agreed the sausage was bangin!!!! Spicy with a nice snap and smoke. Star of the show. Sides were good but could be hotter. Good but I won't be running back anytime soon. read more

Great food ( the meat was super tender not overly smoky) and very friendly , helpful staff. Definitely recommend this place!!!!

They updated their menu. Definitely more expensive. A lot of seating and a parking lot. Food was kind of cold so not up to their standards. I love their bbq sauce especially the sweet and spicy. Also had teenagers working so not the most professional and they were goofing off. Overall I would recommend this restaurant and their hush puppies are great. read more

Q-BBQ - Deliciousness - Barbeque Near Me - La Grange, Illinois

Q BBQ has some very delicious BBQ. I ordered their brisket sandwich with a side of Mexican corn and hush puppies. They tell you that the Mexican corn was spicy and double checked that if that was ok...guys it had no spice what so ever haha. You order your food and they'll give you a number. They even point out at empty tables to direct you where to sit. The brisket was different. Usually brisket is serves in somewhat thick slices. Here they serve it more like a pulled pork chopped style. They recommend their Carolina vinegar sauce on their menu but like always I opted to use their spicy sauce from the bottles that they have on the tables. Overall I was pretty satisfied. Food came out relatively fast during their busy lunchtime. This is a place that I would come to often. read more

Q-BBQ - Brisket sandwich with hush puppies and Mexican corn - Barbeque Near Me - La Grange, Illinois

Took my parents out for lunch and was not disappointed. Not only did we love the food we also loved the portion size. We literally didn't eat the rest of the day. The outside dining area was just right perfectly situated in the shade. Can't wait to come back for round two. read more

Great service, great food. A little dry but it's still worth it. The service makes up for it

Q-Barbecue. Well been their twice. Once on another person's dime. Both times Sub-par. Ribs overcooked, not tender, not tasty. I think they are prefab or have been sitting there since T-Rex crawled around here. Even Dave's is leagues better. Sides of Mac & Cheese and I forgot what else were no better. When even muaah can whip up a batch of Mac and Cheese that's not dry and bland. You have to work to screw up Mac and Cheeese. If I were you, the owners, take a trip to Georgia, Augusta. They have some excellent Rib places there. And down south. There's no way you should be serving this rubbish. read more

For the longest time, I thought that there was no good BBQ in the Chicagoland area -- fortunately Q BBQ and Real Urban Barbeque helped restore my faith in midwestern BBQ. These two restaurants are definitely the standard by which all other BBQ restaurants should be judged by in the area. The best feature of Q BBQ has to be the PapaQ platter. This is really an awesome entree to share on a date (or between 2-4 foodies who want to try a bit of everything, without falling into a food coma). I think all fast-casual gourmet restaurants should have an item like this so I can cut back on the workout needed to consume all this delicious food. Joking aside, this is seriously good BBQ with seriously good sides. The only fault I can really find with this restaurant is that they don't have a sides sampler platter as well. This is alright though, as you'll be bringing your friends and family here once you've had a taste of their food. So in general -- all the food I tried was awesome but these specific items stood out: Premium spicy wings: Crispy burnt outside, juicy meaty chicken inside. I'm surprised that this really isn't on the local lists for best wings because this is awesome without relying on a huge amount of sauce or spices. Texture was excellent as well. Sliced turkey: I don't usually care to eat turkey outside of Thanksgiving and Christmas, but this was juicy and moist with just the right thickness. No gravy needed for this bird. Cornbread: This was a big surprise for me -- the corn flavor really came out with a texture almost like a fine cake. It's a little bit on the sweeter side but very delicious. Mashed potatoes: Shouldn't be a surprise that the potatoes are buttery, creamy, delicious, and many other adjectives here. This is an important side with any BBQ and they do it great here. Ribs: They fall right off the bone and are very thick and juicy. Don't settle for the scrawny, burnt ribs you find elsewhere -- this is the real deal. QPups: If you thought hush puppies were the side dish used as a filler that people generally ignore -- then you need to try Q Pups. The delicious mix of carbs and spices in a perfectly fried batter really make this a life-altering experience and will change your perception of the dish. Brisket burnt ends: A must try if you're visiting Q BBQ or Real Urban BBQ -- you can't find this everywhere so it's worth the extra price. I could go on and on about other items but there's no point -- stop reading my review and just try their awesome food for yourself :) read more

Great food, on the pricier side for BBQ in the area. Sauce is ok but the BBQ stands on it's own. I wish the bottled sauce retained it's texture a little better. read more

Oh, Lord. I died and went to Meat Heaven. When you arrive, you wait in a long line. As you wait, you'll be assigned a table. And when you reach the counter, it's your time to shine. Like Babe Ruth, I pointed toward my goal. I wanted the "Papa Q" platter. That's a serving of every meat on their menu - chopped brisket, sliced brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, pulled chicken, ribs, wings, smoked turkey, and spicy sausage. Plus hush puppies for good measure. And like the Babe preparing to homer for a sick kid in the hospital, I was ready to knock this out of the park. What I didn't anticipate was having so much meat, my inner sick kid would be smothered to death with brisket and pulled pork. (Note to self: If ever contacted by the Make-a-Wish people, wish for "death by meat.") Q also offers four different sauces for you to sample at your table. I loved the mustard and spicy Texas flavors. There's also a sweet BBQ and a vinegar sauce if you prefer. The chicken wings stood out as particularly good. And this was my first experience with burnt ends. I'll have those again for sure. One downside of this place is that there is no waiter service. So if you want another beer or a drink refill, you've got to get it yourself. For fountain drinks, that's no big deal. But should you have to wait in line again to get a beer? That seems weird. (Someone will swing by to bring your initial order and clear your plates. That's it.) I did like that Q offers a "hand washing station" outside the restrooms. Step right up to the sink and wash off all your caked-on sauces. The Papa Q platter comes with two sides. I got the cornbread (two enormous slabs) and the fries (cooked to perfection). I also sampled the mac 'n' cheese. Very liquid-y cheese with crumbled Cheez-its on top! I have a monstrous hunger, but even I could only make it through about half the Papa Q platter. For that, I tip my cap, let loose a mighty belch and prepare to take another run at the animal kingdom in a future visit. read more

I love the food and especially the hush puppies, and quick pickup side item. Also the brisket and will be getting again soon with the wonderful sauce read more

Lets start off by saying that some of the things they offer are tasty. Majority of their stuff though, tastes the same. Their sides are good, the restaurant is clean, but they are crazy expensive here. Now don't think of this place as a traditional BBQ. If i could sum it up, they are like a fast food BBQ restaurant. You'll have to try their menu to truly understand what I mean. Is it worthy to try, yes, very much so. I just can't see myself eating here more than maybe twice a year though. read more

The sauces are great. I enjoy the sides. I wish the quality of the entrees were more consistent. In particular the chicken seems to be very dry half of the time. The brisket does come out pretty good. I also like the burnt ends. Just stay away from the chicken. Also, they do fundraisers for groups. That is real nice of them. I can often smell their food from several blocks away. (That is wonderful.) read more

Close to being a 5 star for me.. Had a quick lunch here and was pleasantly impressed. The guy behind the counter was able to provide some insight into his favorites and such, but ultimately I went with my tried and true Pork and Brisket. I also had some mac n cheese and spicy fries. The pork was very good, my wife would have loved it. It had good flavor and was pulled to a good consistency. The brisket was pretty good, but not as good as the pork. The brisket lacked a little bit of flavor and finish for me.. They had a few good sauces that helped me kick it up a bit. The mac n cheese is freaking awesome.. It has some crunched up goldfish or something on it that set it apart from others. The spicy fries were good, but last on my list to eat. I only ate a bit of them as I was full up on the rest of the food. I'll add it to my rotation while I'm in town! read more

Q-BBQ - 2meat with brisket and pork. Spicy fries n mac n cheese - Barbeque Near Me - La Grange, Illinois

Q had always been one of my favorites, so I was sad when the Lakeview location shut its doors a couple of years ago. But yesterday chance brought me into lunching distance of this location, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity. It was excellent! They have a stupendous deal right now for National Barbecue Month: the Papa Q sampler, usually $29.99, is marked down by ten dollars. This platter includes TEN MEATS--everything on the menu. It's not just a little nibble of each one, either. The sheer amount of meat on the plate is mind-boggling. I ate at least a bite of everything but took about two-thirds home. It's an amazing value for only twenty bucks. Standouts included the baby back ribs, burnt ends, brisket, and turkey breast. As expected, they served up really good fries and brussels sprouts, and decent hush puppies. I also enjoyed the cucumber salad as a vegetable counterbalance to the protein deluge. Same positive notes as the other Q location: free pickles, friendly service, hand-washing station in the dining room. Memphis Sweet sauce very nice, but a little sweeter than my recollection--I cut it about 70/30 with the Texas Spicy. No Coke Zero in the fountain, unfortunately. read more

Really great service! The kids working there do a wonderful job. The space is clean and looks great too! However, while the food that came out *looked* great, the taste was really disappointing. Hushpuppies were the only item that was stellar, but the meat I had was dry and under-seasoned (pork and brisket burnt ends). Hubby's ribs were decent. Elotes had a consistency issue. Mine was loaded with spice, while my hubby's was drowning in sauce. Mac n cheese was just okay and lacked salt. Better seasoning could help the sides, but the meat was lost. Sauce just covered up execution issues. I'm sure the sandwiches are much better since they have sauces, cheeses, and toppings to cover up the meat's lack of seasoning and the meat's moisture retention issues. Not sure I would go back. Bummer! read more

Ordered the 3 meat take out platter. Only 2 of the 3 meats I ordered and PAID for were in my take out bag. I called the restaurant to inform them of the missing item. They could only give me an "IOU." I did my due diligence by paying and picking up. They should have at least been able to deliver the missing item to my residence. Check your bag before leaving their premises if ordering take out. I'm certain this is not the first time they fail to provide their customers the complete order. Plenty of reliable BBQ restaurants to choose from...don't believe I'll return. Not even for the IOU item they failed to provide. Must be nice to charge for items they fail to deliver. read more

We ate outside this time. The hot weather and cool music with BBQ smells made us think we must have travelled south of the Mason-Dixon line. No, we were right in downtown LaGrange eating some awesome bbq sandwiches. Loved the pulled pork sandwich, glad I opted for Q-style. The sides included the ever delectable hush-puppies and Q-sticks. The Q cabernet was a nice touch. Bonus points for the enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. read more

I think I found my BBQ oasis. I didn't realize there were three locations but this one in La Grange is situated in a nice area where you can park right next door, eat, and go for a short walk across the street and get yourself some froyo. We ordered the full slab of ribs and second meat with two sides, which is a good deal for two people to split. The ribs had that perfect pink smoke ring, and we had the brisket which was juicy, not dried out. This came with q-pops which had a soft but firm texture with the corn. Sides are not very large (about the size of your palm) but you realize that the meat is the real star here. Each table has an assortment of sauces for you to dip your food into, and I fell for the sweet Memphis sauce. It gave everything a nice layer of smooth sweetness to accentuate the smoke flavor. I found myself dipping the q-pops and corn bread into it too! Definitely a place I would come to again. read more

We drove quite far to try Q-BBQ so we hoped it was worth the drive. It DEFINITELY WAS!!! Up until now our favorite bbq was Baby Back Blues but they are now number two. The combo platter blew me away. And, the dining area is great. Everything is craveable!!! The fritters ...oh boy... read more

I went in the other day to pick up my order. The lady in the front was rude when she went to grab my food. It was lukewarm with JUST 2 sauces in the bag. Big fan of this place. Tried it for the first time tonight with a friend. We each got sandwiches (one pulled pork and one pulled chicken). They were very lightly sauced, which I appreciated so I could try the different sauce options. The sandwiches were a good size portion. The meat itself was lightly smoked but not overwhelming. We both got the mac and cheese. I added the corn and my friend added the corn bread. The corn was awesome! It had a little kick to it that I wasn't expecting. The mac and cheese was okay. The cheez-its on top were unique. I wish they had stayed crunchy though. They were soft from the cheesy goodness. The price was also really reasonable. We were a little confused about whether we are supposed to sit ourselves, though you obviously order from a counter. There was some sign up at one point in the night but kept breaking off. read more

We visited this place for a quick lunch yesterday, since we were in are and free few hours while our puppy was at the grooming salon:) I didn't have any special wish but Mr wanted some bbq. I accepted bc lately he wanted some bbq. I liked the fact that you can find a parking in front of the restaurant. If you are lucky:) but we are! Ahha We stepped into half full restaurant and I felt happy to find a table since few more people stepped into after us. It was our first time here so we decided to sit at the table a take a look on the menu. After few moments we decided and we placed an order. I need to say that boy and girl who work here are very positive and polite. We went back to our table and they served us our lunch very quick.. Since I am not a fan, I ordered plain three slider with my choice of the meat. I think I chose pulled pork, chicken and brisket. My side was fries. Mr ordered Daddy Q plate:))) it is filled with pieces of every meat they have and two sides. If you ask me, this with maybe two more sides is enough for four people ! I was surprised how buns on my sliders were good. Not dry at all. Meat was also tasty. What I liked most here are tater tots. They are made of corn flour and I loved it. I also tried Memphis wings as thay looked good and yes they tasted same. Good. He said that all meats were tasty. And nothing was over seasoned. I didn't liked beans. It is just not my cup of tea. Probably bc of the bbq sauce . I knoww.. Overall experience was positive. We had nice time along with meal . Place is clean and nice. I enjoyed it. read more

We loved the fish during lent. The turkey and tacos are a household favorite! Our kids are obsessed with the Q pups!!

Y'all are on crack with all these 5 star reviews. Don't get me wrong. They are doing a few things right. The girls who work in the front of the house are amazing and friendly. They took care of any issues we had. Recommended what they thought was the best. Super calm and super patient. And the place is clean as hell. Not a part of nastiness anywhere. Except for that giant mosquito buzzin around me. And the location of this place is great as well. A lot of good looking people outside. But unfortunately I am here to review the food. So let's begin with that. We got a lot of the menu. Hush puppies: the best thing we had. And usually it's the worst where ever you go. Brisket. Terrible. Dry. No flavor. We actually asked if we could get something else to replace it. Sure enough the amazing front of the house accommodated us. Chicken wings. They were good. That's about it. Nothing amazing. Burnt ends: a couple good pieces. But most were dry and inedible. Pulled pork. Meh. It was ok. The sauces Saved the day. The spicy fries. Greasy and no seasoning. Just potatoes. In conclusion, skip this place. Not worth it. When we walked out we looked at each other and basically said the same thing. It's good for the people who we saw in the neighborhood. Clean well put together young suburban professionals. This meal is forgettable. read more

My boyfriend and I have had this place before, and we have usually had the pulled pork sandwich. Since moving near by, we decided to order out from here one night and decided to split their ribs and a burnt ends sandwich. I really love their sauces but everything has a bit of heat to it. Unfortunately, one of the bbq sauces exploded all over the car but at least the food smelled amazing. I've never been a fan of burnt ends but their sandwich was awesome. The burnt ends were tender and I added coleslaw to give it a bit of tang. We were not as big fans of the ribs, however. They were very dry and tough. I think the problem was that the meat was too lean and they were smoked too long. Anyways, overall this is a great bbq spot. I would never get the ribs again, but I'd come back for one of their bbq sandwiches. read more

I'm a HUGE bbq fan and always try to discover new places in the Chicago area. In the city, I love Smoque. In the "far" burbs, I'd go with Baby Back Blues. In the western suburbs, I'd stick with Q-BBQ. It's definitely not the best BBQ I've ever had (shout out to Pappy's in St. Louis!) but I always leave satisfied as their food is filling and consistent (their sides really give them an edge). Their menu is large & can be overwhelming so here are my favorites: -pulled pork plate (My fiancé and I shared the Papa Q platter once to just sample all of their meats & we finished about 2/3 of it.) -fries: they're delicious!!! They're the darker, extra fried ones -hush puppies: comes with a plate & are a great sweet addition -Mexican corn: yummmm a nice little bit of spice to it too -mac-Q-roni: quite solid -mashed potatoes & gravy: the flavor is perfect, the saltiness is a bit too much for me They also have 4 different sauces that are fun to try & I like their seating & location in La Grange. Overall, Q-BBQ is a solid choice for a bbq fix! read more

Good bbq, nice selection of sides. Is a bit on the pricey side. Parking can be tough during busy dinners.
