    Vegan potato and bean

Trying this place for the first time after I heard they offer a couple vegan empanadas on the menu. I ordered the potato and bean one, but it wasn't already in the case, so they made a fresh one which took about 15 min. Good to know if you're just picking up to call ahead. It was really good and came with a chimichurri sauce. My favorite part was how they stamped "vegan" right on the empanada (see photo) so I didn't have to wonder if I got the correct thing!

Fun and casual little spot to grab a bite or carryout in downtown LaGrange. We stopped during the busy LaGrange art fest. The empanadas are tasty! Some are more traditional and some are modern and fun. We ordered an assortment to share. We liked them all, even the apple pie dessert one. Restaurant was clean and tidy.

Cute, clean little place. There's a wide selection of empanadas, served with a delicious, garlicky chimichurri sauce. Popular varieties are available right away from the heated case. Other flavors not available in the case can be prepared and ready in about ten minutes. Beverages available, as well as condiments like Cholula or my favorite, Siracha. Guy at the counter was cordial and polite. There are a few tables for indoor seating, and a small outdoor patio seating area in front. They offer frozen empanadas to take home, bake and enjoy; frozen empanadas can also be delivered for a fee. Empanadus is a good choice for lunch or a quick snack!

We were trying to find a snack to hold us over until dinner time and came across this shop in downtown La Grange. They had about 14 kinds of empanada. We tried the tuna, ham and cheese, pepperoni, and corn. All four were delicious, flaky, flavorful and tasty. Reasonably priced at $2.75 a piece, this was a perfect little place to come and get a snack or lunch. I did notice that you can buy the empanadas frozen and they also have soup you can take to go. I'm sure we'll come back to either get some for weeknight snacks or bring to a party. They're very versatile and authentic to Argentinian empanadas.

Not bad ! The ham, spinach and barbecue pork were good. Tuna so so, broccoli not so... it's worth a try but doubt I'll be back so soon.

Great selection of empanadas. Prices are cheaper if you get more. The chimichurri is ok... I have had better but still giving the place 5 stars.

Empanadas were delicious, but the lentil soup was even more amazing! The chimichurri (sp?) was very good as well.

These are amazing Empanadas. As close as we can find to authentic. Beef is our favorite, but they are all so tasty!

They had a very nice bread server with four individual oval French loaves with very tasty butter. We tried the provoleta with peppers because we like that a lot in Argentina, but this was nothing like it and I guess that was to be expected. There they have a bunch of drier version of provolone and they grill it directly on the grill grates and it doesn't really melt too much. This tasted like standard provolone cheese and it was melted in a bowl. It was tasty, and unfortunately they probably can't get the Argentinian version of the cheese they would need to do it correctly. Our friends got the beef brochette with asparagus and the outside skirt steak and both were fabulous. Well seasoned and grilled and tender. My husband and I got the 2 pound stuffed fillet! It supposedly had ham in the filling but I couldn't taste it or see it anywhere. Unfortunately it had a really strongly flavored sauce along with the portobello mushrooms. We expected something with fewer herbs, which kind of overpowered the beef. It's a shame because the way they described it on the menu is not what came out. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't what we were expecting and unfortunately, the beef flavor was hard to discern because of all of the herbs in the dark brown sauce. We brought our own wine and they didn't even have a corkage fee, which was amazing! We saw other plates go by with copious amounts of tomatoes and onions on salads and the filet mignon platter, it seemed like it was three or four pieces of fillet it had to be nearly a pound for one serving. The prices are pretty steep for the beef and they do charge $10 for sharing, however it might be worth just getting one of the larger plates and spending the 10 bucks to share as opposed to getting an entrée each and taking home lots of food which we did.

The warm table bread and butter was pretty good so it was an effort to keep from eating too much and ruining our appetite. We split a chicken empanada to start which was really good, especially with the chimichurri sauce. For mains, we split the parillada para dos - a large meat platter meant for two. It was came with a little house salad and was a super good deal with all the meat they gave you (we ended up with lunch the next day, too!) The best part of the dish was the short ribs. Super soft and sort of fatty tasting, but not in a gross way, in a really yummy way. We also really liked the chorizo sausage. The flap tastes good, but was a little tougher than the other meat. The beef sweetbread and blood sausage were different, a little bit of an odd texture, but still good.

To start we got the provoleta which is basically melted cheese with red peppers. Perfect for cheese lovers but not recommended for those who are lactose intolerant. Pairs well with meat. For sides, we got the papas fritas and the spinach mashed potatoes (highly recommend). The spinach mash doesn't even taste like spinach but it's a beautiful green color. To end the meal, we got a traditional Argentinean cookie called alfajores. It was pretty good. It was served cold, as if they had just took it out of the fridge.
