A lot of takeouts but not dine in customers like me. after 10 minutes of seating ourselves and me grabbing the menus myself our wait came out.. she politely greeted us and set out the chips and 2 different salsa's. I can say that the chips were fresh and the salsa were delicious! Both flavors were but for some reason I preferred the green over the red but when mixed toyot was heavenly. We proceeded to order and my friend got a steak tack dinner that came with 2 and rice and beans but she opted for double rice instead. It is Taco Tuesday so I got the special which was whatever filling/meat you want for 2.50 each. I ended up with 3 steak tacos and small elote and a strawberry margarita on the rocks.. our waitress who was slow took so long to do things that I was getting full from the chips and salsa before the food came out. Anyway our food came out and the tacos were delicious, the meat could have been seasoned more because it was a little bland to my liking but it was still good. It was steak tacos on a corn tortilla shell with cilantro, onions, cheese and tomatoes. The elote was delicious it had the cheese I cannot pronounce with sprinkle on paprika etc. Tje margaritas were good because they didn't hold back in the liquor but by friend didn't like hers because it had no flavor! But of course it wouldn't have flavor if you didn't order it with flavor!! lol...waitress could have been more attentive but the main attraction really was the chips and salsa for me.. they have a wide variety of food options.. I think I will try them again just to see if service would be any better...

Been there many times and at least once per week for breakfast. I won't go back. First they give a discount for cash. While I'm not too happy about it so many others are doing it (usually a credit card surcharge but essentially the same thing) I know so pay in cash. I went and got a burrito. $15.75 with cash. I gave them a $20 and got $4 change. What happened to my 25cents? Oh we don't give out quarters and the waitress was confrontational and seemed offended that I would ask. I guess it's okay to expect me to give out quarters. I won't to them any more. On top of this latest nonsense the food wasn't good. The meat was dry and overcooked. They are getting greedier and their quality is declining. Much better choices around in terms of quality and actually a little cheaper. I have to admit I had my doubts, after having been a regular at the original location on 18th St for many decades! My expectations were high...well I am so happy to say that my ecxpectations were exceeded!! I love the new Cafe Nuevo León!! Special shoutout to Miranda for making our first visit in her grandfather's restaurant so delightful and delicious!! We will be regulars...again!! Buen provecho!!! read more
