The most disgusting food I've ever had. I ordered a taco salad and please refer to the picture. It tastes exactly how it looks. Gross, no flavor, swimming in sauce. After a few bites I threw it out. My husband has the chicken burrito and threw half out because it had no flavor. Heard good things and wanted to like this place but wow, it was very very gross. Don't waste your money.

Went today with the family after we visited the zoo. Saw it was close (6 min drive and 4.5 stars). First impression it was packed so we were excited because that must mean good food. Happy to see they have a dine in side because the take out side is small. My family was seated quickly they brought out chips and salsa. Nice touch. I ordered the skirt steak taco dinner meal $15. The rest ordered burritos and single tacos. Burritos are a nice size however don't get the ground beef. The meat is sweet and not like your typical seasoned ground beef for tacos. 1 burrito wasted and two tacos in the trash. However.... the skirt tacos were AMAZING! They are flavorful, tender, and extremely meaty! I'll order them again for sure. I didn't need the meal because I couldn't even eat the beans and rice with it. I am not a fan of the beans and rice either so next time I'll just get the skirt steak tacos. Oh and I hate they only have beers and no margaritas or other cocktail options. Lastly be prepared to get your own fountain drink it's self service which can be a pain since it's a small place. Overall I will be back again but just for two skirt steak tacos next time I'm in the area.

Been coming here for years. The carne asada dinner is my go to. It's always been worth the trip from the city each time because it's delicious and the portion is huge. However, today was an entirely different story. The steaks are now like 40% of what it used to be. I'll attach a pic. Service has gone to shit. No longer that warm family owned vibe.

would not recommend anymore. We've come here since the opened as Tony's but we've been sitting here for over 15minutes and have not been waited on. They are not busy but the servers are off on the side chit chatting This used to be our go to place but never again. I used to be a server and always acknowledged customers but this has never happened to me. Their food quality is good, their prices are ok, but service has gone downhill read more

I absolutely recommend this place! Great service and great food. This place makes me miss living in the area and now I would drive an extra 20+ minutes just to enjoy a meal at Ricky's / Tony's. I have had multiple things on the menu so far but the Cowboy Burrito is definitely one of my favorite. This restaurant is one of the last standing restaurants that gives you tortilla chips before your meal, my absolute favorite thing when eating out. The vibes are good and usually get seated right away, I also noticed they have an outdoor patio/seating area too! Fajita tacos are to die for too...man o man. The red sauce enchiladas are yummy, and the portion is large with 4 enchiladas. The waitress was very friendly! I'm reducing a star because the dining room isn't very clean, and the furniture is not in good condition. read more

I've had their cowboy burrito which was really good. The chicken was perfect and they served the dinner with rice, beans and guac. This is definitely worth it and is a big value for the amount of food and flavor. Very authentic. read more

Tony's is officially my go-to spot for Mexican food. The food is traditional and delicious, and the portions are generous. I ordered the taco dinner, with two chicken tacos, and one vegetarian taco. The chicken was tender, juicy, and had clearly been slow cooked. The rice and beans were perfect. For some reason they gave me a steak taco instead of a vegetarian taco, but it was really good too! Over priced, no customer service skills at all. The company policy according to the supervisor and manager. Couldn't open a register at certain time of the day even though they had several employees laughing or sweeping the floors. The line got so big and I asked two women if they could open a register, I had a full shopping cart full of groceries and they said, they couldn't. Their explanation was none sense, ridiculous. I had to ring every single item on my cart. The products are way pricey plus there's no employee to ring my groceries or bag my stuff. Come on. Never going back there again. I rather go to Fiesta Market down the street on Irving park Rd. read more

What a disappointment yet again. They intentionally served rotten avocados and had chunks on the tostada rather than slicing or mashing. I would recognize the guy that prepared it too. I called them and I can go back and get a refund or a new tostada. We're done. Seriously WTF read more

I had high hopes for this place after checking Yelp reviews. My family and I were starving after a Sunday at nearby Brookfield Zoo. The review is mainly for the quality of food and large portions - enchilada dinner, sopes, chorizo and egg tacos, steak burrito, and fries. The waitress we had seated us right away however she seemed to struggle with menu items. She ended up bringing us the wrong order and insisted that I ordered incorrectly. Thankfully another waitress and manager came over to confirm the correct entree. They ended up not charging for the mistake but service after that was downhill. We live on the north Side so chances are slim that we'll be back. read more

Okay food. Impossible to place an order over the phone. Twice they picked up on me and said nothing, while I was left repeating "hello" over and over. They don't pay attention to the phones so it's very difficult to place an order before you arrive at the restaurant. read more

Went to Tony's for the Sopes dinner and some fries and wowwww! When I got home and started eating I was amazed by how much food they gave me. They are generous with their portioning of food for sure. Plus the food was delicious. I will be returning for more soon! read more

Normally I wouldn't have bothered with this place again, but I was ill and it was close by so I gave them a second chance. They managed to make it blander, and the burrito was absolutely 1/3 smaller than my last visit a few months ago! The icing on the cake was the cashier tapping on the tip box while checking me out...wtf?? A surefire way to get no tip from me is demanding one so untactfully! So yeah, no bueno, will never spend another dollar here read more

This place never disappointed me but today they have. I live in Bolingbrook now and I decided to go here to get an Tosada dinner with guacamole. They charged me 13.00 for just a Tosada with meat piled on top. And shells at the bottom. I guess they wanted me to use the meat that they piled on top of the first shell. I called and spoke to a young lady. She did tell me to come back up there to get my order fixed. read more

I went here with my fiancé and we both got the horchata which was delicious! He got the 3 tacos (lengua, steak, and fish). He ordered them Mexican style with cilantro and onions. The steak was thin strips which made it flavorful. The lengua was delicious as well. The fish was pretty good for fried fish and was decent. I got the lengua quesadillas which were extremely well done. For first timers, I would put out there that it came with 3 quesadillas as opposed to just the one so try different meats. I didn't know that so I got 3 of the same. I was a little confused as to the restaurant style. It was as if we needed to serve ourselves but wait for a server? It was odd because they would bring us specialty drinks but have us go get our own sodas. Our waitress was wonderful but before her we went through 2 other ladies. It seemed as if no one knew who was serving us. I was a very good restaurant but the wait staff came off as annoyed or confused with our presence. read more

Great place for lunch! Authentic Mexican Family Owned and Operated! Family server and in kitchen! Family.recipes and some added American faire but stick to their roots. I ordered the steak taco plate with onions and cilantro. It also came with rice and beans and a big scoop of guacamole. I'm from SoCal and I am very picky about my Mexican food. This place was good. I recommend it! The service is pretty quick. I did not love the tortilla chips, but that's ok. The tacos were the star of the show. Our go to during this pandemic! Tony's has the best chille rellano tacos in the Brookfield area. And at a reasonable price, to boot! Combine one with a vegetarian quesadilla and you have a complete meal. Don't forget to ask for the onions and peppers packet, though(albeit they stopped giving long green onions and switched to white). Either way, you can't go wrong with ordering from Tony's. Even now they will ask for your car color and brand and provide curbside. Very convenient and safe. Me likie and will return! read more

It was my first time coming here, and I will definitely be going back. The restaurant is easily accessible from Ogden Avenue. Very clean, and spacious on the inside. The menu is very descriptive with all ingredients, and prices. I wasn't sure what to get so I ordered the Mexican eggs, and two tacos. The Mexican eggs came with rice and beans and guacamole with choice of tortillas. Tacos were very filling,as I ate them first. Steak is SUPER low quality. Can't even eat it without a single horrible bite. It's sad because the steak tacos were easily my favorite pre-Covid, but they just never went back to their original steak. I would go every day if they brought it back read more

Burritos the size of a half loaf of bread…read more In looking around Brookfield for a place to eat at before we hit up Galloping Ghost Arcade, every online comment pointed to trying Taco Azteca. My dad was down for some tacos so we hit up Taco Azteca before we got to gaming. I actually drove by the place, missing the turn to get there due to the strange parking lot situation. After a loop around the block, we pull in to the shared parking lot and headed inside. My dad was looking at the menu on the drive up and was waffling between a taco salad and a burrito. Once I placed my order for a beef burrito, my dad followed up with the same thing. We tried to find a place to sit but the place isn't too conducive to eating in with the few tables they had were either taken or dirty from the prior visitor. The staff was super nice and friendly in trying to get a table cleaned up for us. We ended up snagging one and were promptly served tortilla chips with some of the best guacamole I have ever had. I'm not big on guac as I find it to taste too similar to pumpkin (everyone I tell this looks at me like I am crazy) but this stuff was delicious and had a nice kick to it. My dad found the sauce in one of the bottles to be spicy as hell and passed on using more of it. I found them to be quite yummy but I love me some heat. We nearly devoured half the chips by the time the food came out. They were that good and the food came out that fast. I'm used to Mexican-sized burritos but these might take the cake. They were MASSIVE. I showed everyone I know and their eyes got huge when they saw how big it was. The fries that came with it were those with the little bits of batter on them and I knew they were going to be good. I knew we were in for a good time. How do you even eat something that big? Very slowly and somewhat messy, that's how. I devoured half my tasty fries to free up space on my plate just in case I made a mess. Luckily, this burrito held itself together rather nicely. The burrito was super tasty but I do feel like maybe a chicken or pork version would've been better. I like beef but wasn't in the mood for it when I ate my burrito. That's on me though for not paying attention when ordering and accidentally getting beef. My dad loved his burrito and was able to put the whole thing down since he didn't eat breakfast. I had breakfast so I was only able to put down a little over half. My bottomless pit of a stomach isn't so bottomless now that I am almost 40 (a week shy of 39 during this visit). Overall, Taco Azteca lived up to the hype and was worth every bite. I really wanted to get some of the guac to go. My only warning is that the parking lot is shared and can be tight as well as the seats inside. This place serves better for carry-out if it's busy like it was when we were there.

This ties into the excellent service, as the food came out relatively quickly. The staff was friendly and engaged in conversation. One standout employee, Jose, continually checked to ensure that we had everything we needed and addressed any issues we had promptly. The ambience was clean, with staff wearing gloves while cooking. They were consistently cleaning, wiping down tables, and sweeping the floors. These are just a few aspects I look for when visiting a restaurant or food establishment.

I think the prices are too high, and the food taste needs improvement. The taste is not their own. I mean, they hire any cook as long as they know how to make tacos , tortas, and burritos . But, the taste is different depending on who is preparing your food. Many times, my food has been served cold when it had to be warm, or hot.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere! There were five in my lunch party and all of us very much enjoyed our lunches. Four of us had dishes that contained chicken (two chicken taco orders, one chicken fajita order, and one chicken burrito order); we couldn't believe how tender the chicken was. The final order was a vegetarain burrito which was also excellent. All of the portions were huge. I highly recommend a side of the Mexican stew potatos, which I had never heard of. They were delicious. The restaurant is very inviting and very clean. Service is excellent and friendly. Riky, who prepared our meal, came over to our table and asked how everything was. He truly cared and took pride in the meal he prepared for us and thanked us for visiting. We will definitely return! read more

I was in the area for work and needed to cater lunch for the office. Someone suggested this place, and I'm honestly disappointed it was my last day in town because if I had found it sooner, I would've been back several times. The food is incredible. This is authentic, delicious Mexican food, not the wimpy little street tacos you sometimes get. These tacos are packed with meat, and one or two will actually fill you up. They prepared our catering order perfectly, and everything tasted fantastic. The lady--who I'm pretty sure is the owner--took great care of me and even helped carry everything out to my car. This is probably my favorite steakhouse in town. If youre going to spend alot, this is the place to do it. The staff here is great, but gruff. Though Id argue that's part of the rustic steakhouse feel. Our waiter, Tom, was able to give us some great guidance and was especially helpful for pairing beers with our steaks. Everything you've heard is 100% true and then some! Obviously the steak is the main event, and every time I go its top- notch -- juicy and perfectly cooked. Don't skip dessert! I love the food here. The tacos are amazing. There is a lot of meat with the tacos and it is not expensive at all. I would try the fish tacos if I were you! The service was amazing too. Food was made as quickly as possible. The atmosphere in the place is not bad either. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good mexican place around brookfield. If I could rate lower than one star I would. Take out orders are prepared very sloppy. The tortilla for my burrito was split open as if it exploded. Food is overall bland at best. It was fresh, but with little flavor. The rice is dry and the beans tasted like they were canned. There was no excuse for my order to be prepared in this manner as they were not busy at the time.
