First time eater at Zacatacos, I was sold when I smell the aroma of grilled steak in the air. From the outside, it looked like it was a huge place but once I was inside there are like 8 tables. I ordered couple of steak tacos as a test and given a number to place at the table of choice. Food came out fast with a fork which was convenient. As a perk for eating in, you get a chips. I have been going here for years. I love their steak tacos! Everything tastes amazing and fresh! Do not sleep on the tamales! I got the Rajas con Queso (Mia favoritos) and it was perfect! The filling tasted great and they didn't skimp on the filling. I hate tamales that are skinny! These were stuffed! The stuffing was tasty. Also, la masa was light and airy! Zacatacos flavor and freshness is amazing. Before you make it to the restaurant you can smell the meat on the grill. I believe the meat has to be marinated because the carne asada is always so flavorful. I ordered the steak burrito with cilantro and avocado toasted. It was perfect. SERVICE Service is always fast & friendly out of a handful of visits, my order was partially wrong once. My preference is to order ahead but I rarely do so because you're required to provide your payment info over the phone. If you order ahead, you can pick up via the drive in window or via the curbside parking space in the rear of the building. The location is on Harlem which is perfect for those who are less familiar with the brand. If you were to dine in, it's clean and has quite a few bar like stools at long tables. I used to enjoy eating here until this happened. They usually grill the meat w charcoal I'm assuming and it would have a Smokey grilled flavor .. I'm thinking they reheated old meat on a griddle since I ordered when they just opened. We ordered takeout and the steak was disgusting! It was overcooked and had lots of fat and so chunky. We were very disappointed as this was our first time trying out this location. The nachos were so messy and the cheese was so hard and chunky as if they didn't dilute it enough. Maybe they were busy so that's why, not sure but still unacceptable. Most of it went to the trash as it was not good at all. They need to be more attentive and not so rushed to get the orders out because then this is what the outcome is. You go in and place your order at the counter. When your food is ready, they'll bring it to you. I generally don't like Mexican places like this, however, still the chips and salsa are complimentary so, great. It's all good. The workers are so patient and helpful. When the food came out. I stopped by to eat dinner with the wife and spent 55 dollars for both of us. I had a full burrito and a torta that we didn't touch or finish, so we asked for a container and salsa to take home. In the surrounding area, you have plenty of Mexican places to eat at, although the quality of the steak here is my favorite and sets it apart from all of the rest. I usually get the burritos, they are usually pretty packed with flavor and steak, what more can you ask for? Combine that with freshly made ingredients, good portion sizes = you are in for a treat. The only issue I've had over the years, is that at times it's been hard to reach them via phone. Granted i haven't been here in months but that was the only concern I ever had while ordering here, as it does get busy and I like calling ahead rather than going in/waiting to order. read more

I want to indicate this situation not only disgusts me to have picked such an ungrateful restaurant to eat at but also kills my appetite for eating at this establishment. So as I was waking in the gentleman who later you will see in the picture I have started speaking to me in Spanish just because the color of my skin is brown !! I told him I didn't speak Spanish and I was Polynesian he then had a smirk on his face like he did not believe me this had been the point where I should have walked away but I am a person given 2nd chances. after walking away he began to speak to his co-workers saying this and smirking as he looked at me. I wanted to ask him what was so funny but stopped myself from making a fool. We need to be more respectful and not assume anything from customers coming into an establishment. Hope the manager carefully takes action for this behavior so it those not happen again. before leaving, I did get a chance to speak to the manager named Yahara was was on duty, and the toddler about what happened she looked like she did not care at all and made this even worse after that I informed her to please have the general manager call me back this is when I found out her name is Rosia. I've been to several Zacatacos locations and this is by far the smallest location I've been to. They don't have table service here, you order at the counter and then they'll call your number when you're order is ready. The food comes out quickly, so if you come hungry, the wait is not long. Parking can be a little hectic especially if they have a long drive thru line because it's the same entrance and you won't be able to park until the drive thru cars move up. We ordered al pastor, carne Asada and lengua tacos. I had their al pastor at another location and I was a biggest fan, but this location mKs some tasty al pastor. They use arrachera for their Carne Asada tacos which tasted phenomenal. The lengua tacos were also very good. Good perfectly and diced to perfection. The tacos are huge and worth every penny. The food at this specific location is superior to any other location, it always comes out fresh, quick and is consistently delicious. I think what makes the tacos so good is that the chicken and steak are chargrilled and the tortillas aren't dipped in oil. The tacos are so hearty and fresh and they don't fall apart in your hand. I also LOVE the chicken enchiladas in green sauce. The chicken that they use for the enchiladas is shredded, so tender and perfect. Rice and beans are always so good and out of all the Mexican restaurants I've been to, I'd say zaca has the best horchata. Needless to say this is my favorite Mexican restaurant. read more

This spot always have a long line outside. I decided to try them when they weren't so busy. The restaurant is clean and staff was professional and helpful. When I was there customers could not eat inside but they were able to pick up their food and go because of Covid. I ordered 2 steak taco dinner; 1 pork and steak each. Super pricey for being so mid. Back when they first opened up in 2008/2009 here in Berwyn, I loved it. Haven't had it since. Return trip in the years since and it pales in comparison to many taquerias I have had in the decade and a half since. Excellent. Zaccatacos is the go-to taqueria in the area and it never disappoints. The drive thru window is great for COVID situation and also makes it super convenient.
