My wife was there with our two little children, trying to explain what I had been wearing, who I was with, and where we had been sitting. She was still ignored and received very little help from the staff. Eventually, I did get my phone back, and I'm thankful for that. But what bothers me is everything surrounding it. I tipped more than 20% that night. I always try to leave my table as clean as possible out of respect for the server and busser. I've been coming here for years. I genuinely love the food and have always enjoyed the atmosphere. I even have memories of getting ice cream with my son from the place next door, which I understand is under the same ownership. That's why this experience hurt more than it probably would have somewhere else. Maybe this was the actions of one server. Maybe there was a misunderstanding. I can't say for certain what every staff member knew. But from my wife's experience, no one seemed willing to help her, and the way the situation was handled felt dishonest, dismissive, and disrespectful. Something as simple as returning someone's lost phone should not have turned into this. I have a lot of good memories at Corrales, and I truly loved coming here. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't see myself coming back. Thanks for the memories, Corrales. I sincerely wish this situation had been handled differently. There are serious questions about how the situation was handled, including why he was not cut off from alcohol service sooner and the actions of security. If there was an issue with a tab or a patron's behavior, security could have de-escalated the situation and contacted police. No one should leave a restaurant in this condition. This incident deserves a thorough investigation and accountability.
