I went to eat at Corrales on Friday night and accidentally left my phone behind. When my wife went back to pick it up, using the location from Find My iPhone, the same server who had waited on me told her she didn't recognize me or know who I was. My wife was there with our two little children, trying to explain what I had been wearing, who I was with, and where we had been sitting. She was still ignored and received very little help from the staff. Eventually, I did get my phone back, and I'm thankful for that. But what bothers me is everything surrounding it. I tipped more than 20% that night. I always try to leave my table as clean as possible out of respect for the server and busser. I've been coming here for years. I genuinely love the food and have always enjoyed the atmosphere. I even have memories of getting ice cream with my son from the place next door, which I understand is under the same ownership. That's why this experience hurt more than it probably would have somewhere else. Maybe this was the actions of one server. Maybe there was a misunderstanding. I can't say for certain what every staff member knew. But from my wife's experience, no one seemed willing to help her, and the way the situation was handled felt dishonest, dismissive, and disrespectful. Something as simple as returning someone's lost phone should not have turned into this. I have a lot of good memories at Corrales, and I truly loved coming here. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't see myself coming back. Thanks for the memories, Corrales. I sincerely wish this situation had been handled differently. This place is an authentic Mexican restaurant. The service here is amazing and the food is even better. They give huge portions and believe there will be left overs. The place is very spacious and can even host a party of hours if needed. It's very clean and great for large parties. Parking is a little limited but worth it!!! Love this place, it starts with their delicious and hefty drinks followed by their warm salsa and chips. Something that no other restaurant does and was a custom piece on menus of Mexican restaurants. Although you pay for it its on the kids menu this item is the consome con arroz. This place was highly recommended for the chapuzón, that I have tried in a few places including in Indy. It was Sunday morning and the place was getting crowded. We were seated and the server was helpful and patient with helping with the menu. Kids had chicken tender meals from the kids menu. I ordered a tostada and a sope, and my BF ordered the chapuzón. Taste was good but not great, service was just regular too. Nothing really sets this place apart or makes it special. The chapuzón was good but not as good as the one in Coco Bongos Indianapolis. Do not order from this Corales. They have terrible customer service. They delivered a spoiled Paella to us about a week ago. We called and they claimed to give us a credit for next time. I called to order today and they have no record of the credit. This is the third time they lie about giving a credit. The two managers 'Chuy' and 'Manny' do not respect customers. We have received several orders from them that are spoiled. Please don't make the same mistake. We were super-excited about the trip to Los Corrales. It was for a birthday in the family. We live in the city and I have a lot of family in the west burbs, so we thought this would be a nice place somewhere in the middle. It turned out to be kind of... OK. First of all, as vegetarians, we found out that their beans have meat. They don't offer a vegetarian option for the beans at all. This meant that most of my family was immediately disappointed, after having driven all the way there and then waiting for a table, etc. Mostly everyone ended up ordering "off-choice" items like cheese enchiladas only. Even the sides, including the rice had chicken stock. I actually order something with the beans anyway - rebel that I am - and even then the food was OK. Nothing great. I would strongly suggest that every restaurant and especially Mexican ones should offer a veggie-friendly option. Especially because it's so easy to do so. Man, this is walking distance from my cousins house and let me tell you I've only had the Langostinos and they were awesome! I really want to go back there next time and try something different. But for now, definitely give the langostinos a try. I always order them to go in a huge tray (see picture) and just have them at my cousins house. We devour that like you wouldn't believe (after a couple of drinks of course!). THey come with some delicious garlic bread which you wet with the langostino sauce... ohh so good.
