I knew about "Seafood Junction" because of a former co-worker's recommendation. I love seafood, and hubby and I were running errands nearby. Therefore, we concluded that it was an appropriate choice to stop in for an early dinner. There are two (2) separate menus: one for the "steamed" version; the other one for the "fried." We opted for the fried catfish and perch dinners in Cajun seasoning in our first visit. Both dinners came with an AMPLE amount of fries. Since everything was made-to-order and four (4) to-go and dine-in orders were placed before ours, it was a slightly longer, yet still reasonable wait (approximately 20 minutes). The breading wasn't thick at all. The crust was crispy and golden, while the meat inside remained juicy. I enjoyed the Cajun seasoning, though it could have gone a bit easy on the salt. "Seafood Junction" made a positive impression on our inaugural visit. We thought of this corner joint this evening and wanted to get some steamed seafood home. The "steamed" combos were numbered. Contents of seafood combination in each choice were also clearly written on the black chalk board. We had the $31 shrimps, lobster tail, crab, and clams combo tray in Cajun sauce. This also came with potatoes, broccoli, and corn. The wait was rather short and sweet this time around. In about fifteen (15) minutes, our order number was called. Well, that must be my New Year luck! Everything we had was delicious. I could tell parts were thoroughly cleaned before cooking. Other than the Cajun sauce that we requested, there were two (2) additional sauces that resembled "drawn butter" included in the bag. This $31 combo definitely was a treat for us. By the way, our cats also wanted a share of our steamed seafood feast. Of course, hubby and I vigilantly dodged their claws before they reached to the tray. Hey nice try, buddies! I actually preferred their steamed seafood because I can bring the tray home, make myself a cup of tea or coffee, turn the TV on, and dig in with a plenty of napkins on the table. The prices were fair, considering it's Chicago.

The shrimp was delicious and I don't even eat shrimp. They were fried just right. The catfish was delicious and spicy and even though it's fried it wasn't that crispy.

I love this place so much! Yea, I admit it's a little pricey but the food is so dang good. The regular seasoning is my favorite. Be careful if you get any other kind of seasoning because I heard it's spicy. They give you generous portions and all the dishes come with potatoes, corn, and broccoli. Trust me you will be full! My family dined there today and we received excellent customer service. Our food took longer to prepare than normal, so we got free cookies and seafood salad. Hey! I'll take it ;-) we will always come back for more. I highly recommend you try this hidden gem. Especially if you are obsessed with seafood like I am.

A lot of food but not the best tasting. Prices are high but for the type of seafood it's not abnormal.

Everyone behind the counter was so friendly and knowledgeable. I had to try one of their sandwiches and got the salmon po boy at their recommendation. Carnivore in Oak Park…read more This is a butcher shop and fish market that also sells sandwiches I can't really decide if the old time decor is by design or if the place is really needing an upgrade. I actually think it's the latter. It's a lot smaller than I imagined with very limited seating. We went here for the grilled salmon sandwich. We had seen many online reviews saying it is amazing. They make the sandwiches right in front of you, so you know that they are fresh. We took our sandwiches to go and by the time we got them home , they were cold. The fries traveled well, but again they were also cold bu the time we got home. The grilled salmon sandwiches were very good, but not great , and I really would have loved to have eaten it warm. Prices are on the high side for the butcher meats. But I guess you should expect that since they are an artisanal butcher. I did not like the look of some of the meats in the cases. Would we go back? Maybe to try the Bacon Burger. But we would definitely recommend eating your food in the butcher shop and not taking it to go. I have just found out that that are moving into Carnival Grocery in Oak Park.

The bread service was fantastic. The tomato focaccia and the baguette were both excellent and I had to remind myself not to fill up on it before the main meal! LOL! We started with the calamari which was very well seasoned and clearly not the typical frozen version you often see from foodservice distributors. It tasted fresh, was crispy, and well prepared. For dinner I ordered the margherita pizza which was simple and delicious. I ended up ordering a second one to-go for my partner who couldn't make it to dinner. He also loved it - even after it sat for ~30 min or so while we chatted more, then drove home to the Maywood area. I would imagine their delivery is pretty good based on that! My mom had the rigatoni vodka with added crumbled Italian sausage which she loved, and my dad ordered the Marcelino. He loved the generous amount of seafood and how well seasoned it was. My parents are big wine drinkers and my dad was especially impressed with the wine list and the selection available. Oscar was an incredible server!! He struck the perfect balance of being attentive while still letting us enjoy a relaxed, unhurried evening. The support staff and food runners were also fantastic and very friendly, making the entire service experience feel polished! I also loved the kitchen was more open which gives you confidence in the quality and care that goes into the food. The dining space is inviting with a nice bar area and an additional room that looks perfect for busy nights or private gatherings. Overall a great restaurant that we would absolutely return to!!

Went to the buffet and had tried their shrimp cocktails (not peeled), raw oyster, smoked salmon, mini croissant, pastries, and quiche. The buffet also had crab claws, muffins, fruit, and salad that I didn't have a chance to try as I was getting too full. The smoked salmon was my favorite. The quiche had two types; salmon was salty and the other I think spinach was too egg yolk taste. Both were dense and not light. Oysters were fine and didn't get sick afterwards. For the entree, I originally wanted the lobster toast, but the waiter mentioned it is a small dish. So I choose the Herb crusted white fish, which was really delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly and was juicy. Came with mashed potatoes and spinach. Then, for dessert I had tried the lemon bar and crème brûlée. Both very good. I did see someone else order the crab cake royal, it was a decent size and looked bigger in person than the photo I found on yelp. Would probably try that if I have a chance to come back.
