This is my 3rd time here and the food is always fresh. Service is good because it's not packed and it's a good place to go with family.

Wentworth Seafood House - Shrimp n eggs.....great dish......couldn't make it my own tho....

Wentworth Seafood House is literally on Wentworth within the Gate area. The place is modest size…read morewith several large tables taking up quite a bit of space. Not so surprisingly on a Saturday night, all the large tables are reserved and were eventually occupied by large parties. Good for them. A group of three arrived when the tables were not yet occupied and were peeved when they were turned away. A reply of 'they are reserved' didn't matter to them. Ha! The staff spoke all the expected languages of English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. The menu has the usual varieties expected in a Chinese restaurant. The cost is a bit lower than back home, but I don't know how it compares locally. They are very popular and full on a Saturday night. I suspect they are plenty competitive. Rice is included! The Food: Stir Fried Beef Steak with King Mushrooms, $19.95 - 5 Stars This dish is filled with sparkling wok-hei flame stir-fried pieces of beef and veggies. Beef pieces are tender. Veggies are cooked just right. Thumbs up. Jumbo Shrimp in Black Bean Sauce, $16.95 - 4 Stars This is a sizzling platter dish. It didn't arrive particularly sizzling, but it was oily (common for sizzling dishes). The red and green bell peppers were great, but the purple onion pieces were cut too small and was consequently overcooked. I still liked it, just lacked the sizzle, pun intended.

Mostly solid. Regardless good or bad, you can taste the dumpling skin and fillings are made in-house. I particularly the shrimp crepes with thinner rice noodles than other places. On the opposite side, shrimp & chives' dumpling skin was too thick and gelatinous; filling was still good tho. Fried dumpling was perfectly crispy but they skimped on the (tasty) filling portion. We also ordered a lunch special - pan fried beef with rice noodle and I would order that again. No issues with service. It's a smaller dining space so may feel a little cramped.

He'd been there 32 years. Hope to get him next time we're back. Honestly, it's the freshest seafood around. They know how to shuck oysters and prepare them perfectly anytime of the year. The oysters were absolutely amazing. And then the crab legs....oh my goodness..delish. Everything was just so delicious. And I have to give a shout out to their sweet, creamy butter. Lastly, we love sitting in the thick of it where you get to see them preparing the oysters and all the seafood. Love this place. Thank you Shaws!

Incredibly delicious. Everything was as fresh as can be. Definitely come if you like crab!!…read more We were a little mislead by some of the pictures online / on the website of the Norwegian crab (not by any fault of their own, just a poor assumption from our side). When we received it we were a little disappointed by the size. But the pieces were still so juicy and delicious! Just want to give a heads up also that their menu is on rotation, what you see online may not be what you get! Love me some sushi, so I was excited to try the California roll, although it was hard to justify it being $18!!! The crab was very minimal, as you can tell by the pictures... it was missing the classic California roll taste given barely any meat. The Mac and cheese side was good. Nothing too special. plus. But standard is the best word I can think of. Shareable portion, which is a plus. Service was excellent. The server was friendly and personable. Ambiance is great, it's an elevated crab house aesthetic. There is a dress code to enter. Overall, I can't say we had the experience of the price we paid. They gave us free the dessert sampler for our anniversary, yay!!!

We came to JM Seafood for my mom's birthday lunch! We came on a Sunday afternoon in the…read morerecommendation of my sister. She called a few days ahead and reserved a private dining room in the back. I highly recommend this! We had 2 toddlers and five adults (with a cake that we brought for dessert) so this private dining space was perfect. My sister talked up the double lobster fried rice and the egg yolk pumpkin. Both are definitely worth ordering, especially with a large group. Here is what we ordered, family style: * double lobster fried rice * cumin chicken skewers * fish fillet ("crunchy" asian carp) * garlic vegetables * beef & peppers over pan-fried wide rice noodles * egg yolk fried pumpkin * black bean + vermicelli oysters; garlic & vermicelli oysters (market price, worth it!) They brought out complimentary sliced watermelon after our meal and then helped us set up our cake that we brought for dessert (and had stored in the fridge for us during the meal). They helped us light the candles and were so, so kind wishing our mom happy birthday, helping us take photos, and making our meal feel very special. My favorite dish was the oysters (market price) at $9 each and we ordered five but it was WORTH IT. We are at a seafood restaurant after all and they were so fresh and so delicious. I crave this flavor (soy, garlic, black bean) and the vermicelli soaks up all of the juice/flavor and the fresh herbs on top are *chefs kiss* I was less impressed by the double lobster, but it is fun to order with a group. The crunchy asian carp was a weird texture to me (and I know they are bred and fed soybeans for the texture on purpose) but it just wasn't for me. I prefer my fish to be soft and flaky. Overall, we had a fabulous meal: five shining stars! The food comes out fresh from the kitchen and they even have big lobster tanks in the back so you know you're getting a live lobster with your lobster order. The staff are quick and kind. Limited street parking available in Bridgeport, be warned, you might need to walk a little if you drive.

My friend was already there munching on ceviche and once I sat down, our friendly waitress came over right away and gave the menu rundown/highlights. I was overwhelmed by the all the amazing offerings and finally decided on a large Jamaica (a refreshing hibiscus tea/kool-aid like drink and the rompecolchon, a delicious grilled seafood and rice dish. My friend ordered the pineapple chicken, which was half a pineapple grilled and stuffed with chicken, seafood and veggies. Our food came out quickly and we proceeded to pig out. The rompecolchon was similar to a paella but with more seafood, more citrus and lots of cilantro. I was in heaven. The portions were so generous, we had enough to take home for lunch the next day (or a midnight snack). I've already been back and can't wait to go again.

Avoid This Place: A Dive Bar Masquerading as a Restaurant…read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. We came to Langostra Nayarita expecting a decent meal, but what we got was four and a half hours of pure frustration. We arrived ahead of our group and were seated quickly, but that was the only efficient part of the entire experience. They dropped off a tiny cup of ceviche and some tostadas, and then we effectively ceased to exist to the staff. The service was nonexistent. Our waitress (the one with blonde hair) was the definition of unprofessional. She spent the entire afternoon doing shots with other customers and lounging at their tables rather than doing her job. In the nearly five hours we were there, we only saw her twice. To make matters worse: The Food: Completely average. Nothing justifies the lack of service. The Atmosphere: They're acting more like a messy dive bar than a professional restaurant. The Exit: We have currently been waiting for our check for over an hour. It is insulting to pay for a meal when you have to beg for the bare minimum of attention. Save your time and your money--skip this place. I will never be back.
