OMG, soo good. I wish I didn't have to take a star away but unfortunately I have 2 reasons: first of all, when I got home I checked my receipt and they overcharged me 50 cents , and also they don't have desserts. They just have one sweet thing that I didn't try this time: whaaaat?! So delicious, though: Taco Bell and Pepe's aren't the only ones who can cook and you outpriced yourselves. Even with being accidentally overcharged I got incredible bang for my buck. I think I didn't notice my bill at the time because I was so busy looking at their menu to decide what I'd get next time and it is so pleasant in there. I always go here for Taco Tuesday. Their veggie tacos are always my go-to on Tuesday and they are where it's at. Good portion ratio of toppings on the veggie taco and their salsa is great. They also have specials every day of the week so you won't feel like you missed out. The people are nice and welcoming. Having been a regular, they remember me by name. And they're always glad I came. The place isn't huge, but there is an outdoor table in front of the resto. I've only dined a couple of times and usually take out. Delicious tacos! Especially their pork tacos. Chicken soup is fire also. Prices are very reasonable considering how much meat they give on each taco. They actually have flavor in their meat, it's not just overcooked meat with no seasoning. Tuesday they have better deals on tacos which is insane, make sure you call way ahead on Tuesday. My review for this place has been a long time coming! I've been coming here faithfully for AT LEAST the last 3 years, so I should probably be a little ashamed that it took me this long to write a review. When I first started coming here, the #1 thing that kept me coming back was the kindness of the owner. She always greeted me with a smile on her face and referred to me as her friend(it's the small things like that that normally grab me). She also allowed me to practice my Spanish with her without ever making me feel as though I was bothering her haha. But back to the food. Well what can I say... The food is great! You have your "Familiar items"..tacos, burritos, tortas, etc and the more traditional items..chiles rellenos, huachinango,and more! I've had the pleasure of dining in and taking my food to go, and I've never had any negative experiences with either(quick side note... Now that the place is super popular CALL IN FIRST FOR TACO TUESDAY or be prepares to wait). I've had almost every taco on the list, the huachinango, queso fundido, a number of burritos and tortas, and probably some other menu items as well haha(yes I've literally been here that much). I've never been let down by any of the menu items, and the staff members are great. The cooks don't seem to dread their job, and the food(both taste and display) show it. Don't ever try and come here when they are having a special. They can't keep up with phone in orders and walk in orders. I don't know what size grill they are working off of, but they need to get a bigger one. I placed an order for 8 tacos and ended up waiting 45 mins for them. Way to long for something so simple. There were two cooks and two servers and they still couldn't get things straight. The same amount of people that walked in to order, walked into complain there order was wrong. I've been eating tacos my whole life and never had any that was worth this type of wait. Just got home and to find that they screwed up my order (shocking). Oh wait it get worse, I got attitude when they finally called my name. I could of gotten a well done porter house steak in the same amount of time I waited for chopped up skirt steak. The cherry on top was they were not very good. They were very greasy and not tasty what so ever. Rice was good so I can't knock them on that. The only complaint I have about this place is if you blink while you're driving you'll miss it. This is the best kept secret in Brookfield. Two words for you folks: Taco Tuesdays!!! For up to 10 tacos per order/person the cost per taco is only $0.89. That is right- for less than $10.00 after tax- you can get 10 tacos- any style you want! My suggestions are their carne asada, but their lengua (tongue) is pretty good, and their al pastor (marinated pork) is decent as well. This alone would normally warrant a 5-star review, but from what I found, the place can be hit or miss sometimes. I've gone to pick up after 6:00 PM on Tuesdays and have been told that they are out of many types of meat. The man who owns/runs the place is actually really nice if you get a chance to talk with him. The rest of the people there can be a bit cold- but then again- it doesn't really matter that much considering it is just a little taco joint in Brookfield. Definitely a takeout place, but pretty solid options for tacos- and their menu covers a lot of other things too- including some traditional caldos (soups) and stews. I think I saw pozole on the menu once. If you are from Brookfield, this is your best local option for Mexican, unless you are willing to drive down Ogden or Cermak east all the way into Berwyn and Cicero. read more

The bold, authentic flavors make this place stand head and shoulders above the other Mexican places down the block. The chicken taco is the best I've had in Chicagoland, no lie. This place has got it going on! It's no fuss, delicious, and cheap Mexican food! They have daily specials that'll save you even more, too! We went on a Thursday. My guy got a steak burrito ($4.55), I opted for the special of the day- the torta for $3.49, and we also bought some chips and salsa $2.50). Basically all forms of food are served with meat, beans, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and cheese, but you can easily remove whatever you want. Both 'entree' items were pretty big, and had a good balance of all ingredients. I really enjoyed my sandwich, and my guy lapped up his burrito pretty quickly too! The chips and salsa were really good! The salsa is more liquidy but packed with savory flavor and a good amount of heat. Our dinner total was just a bit over $10 (before tip), which is a fantastic deal to feed two people. We will definitely be back... I want to try their tacos (0.94 on Tuesday!), nachos, and so on, and so forth. **the inside is pretty small with just a few tables, and 1-2 picnic tables outside along Ogden. My daughter and her friends have been eating here for 3 years that I know of. I have worked in fast foods for over ten years before changing my occupation. So today is Taco Tuesday and I figured I would see what I have been missing. My mom called in our order for 18 tacos and was hung up on. So I went in person to place the order, and was treated Very Rude. Not what I was expecting at all. If my mom and daughter did not want to eat here I would have cancelled the order. So I will not give my money to a business who cannot at least be nice when placing a order. I will not return here!! Found via yelp, I took my husband to galloping ghost for his birthday and I'd already researched that this was the place we'd go to for lunch break. It's such a cute little place, looks like a little house from the front and they've done a nice job decorating inside with cactus around the place and love the bright green walls. We were the only ones in there given it was late lunch around 2pm. The service was great, really lovely waitress and as soon as they started cooking our steak tacos you could smell it from the kitchen... sooo good!! I got a regular carne asada and a gourmet carne asada. the gourmet was really good with pico de gallo and avocado. The salsa they made was also really good, the red one was really good spice level. They aren't the biggest tacos going around but really good quality and quite filling! For 4 regular tacos, 2 gourmet and a stuffed problano taco, plus chips and salsa and a horchata it was $23 (plus tip). Def a great find in the middle of suburbs! read more
