Stopped in as I just happened to be driving by, hungry. Parking was breazy even though they are on Ogden which is busy here. Owner was extremely gracious and after finding out it was my first time in offered to let me taste a few things. Food was excellent for this category of restaurant. If you are looking for good standard Mexican food, (taco's, burrito's etc.) I rank this one high. Prices extremely reasonable, quick friendly service. It's refreshing to see people passionate about what they do, and the owner clearly is. I will stop in again. We always come here for a meal break when we are visiting the Galloping Ghost arcade across the street. So far, it has been three times in Taco Stop, and this number will continue to rise. We found this place 7 years ago, and thought we were the luckiest people in the world to have such fresh, delicious Mexican food so close to home. Then it was under different management, which didn't hold a candle to it's former owners. (that's putting it mildly, their food was atrocious...) On a whim 7 years later something made us try this place again, and are we glad we did! Ironically enough, the old owners were back, and brought with them the most appetizing, tasty Mexican food you can have without visiting Mexico itself, back! Amazing! What were the odds? Try everything there, it's all delicious. We are fond of the chicken tacos and chicken burritos. (the chicken is white meat, and super tender.) We also get the veggie tacos and the chile rellenos taco. (to die for!) Do yourself a favor and disregard the negative reviews, cause they are from the former management. Ok, so why drop a star? Because of the attitude of the owner. This place in Brookfield is leaving and the owner makes no bones about how ticked off he is that he wasn't successful in Brookfield. That's all you hear when you walk in now. I know the business is going, it might already be gone as far as I know, but where the food was good and I'll miss it. I won't miss the attitude of the owner. Hey, I'm sorry it didn't work out, but don't take it out on the people who are still coming in to see you. He's going somewhere by the Cook County Jail and I honestly hope he makes it, but if he keeps up the attitude he'll be hard pressed to no matter how good the pork tacos are... and they are damn good. read more

Great local taco joint. Clean, cheap, authentic, everything you could want in a carry out taco place. There are tables and chairs but we usually get ours to go. They will gladly make tacos de gringo (tomato, cheese, lettuce) or tacos mexicanos (cilantro and onion). I've also tried their sopes which are also tasty. They make everything to order so it can take a little while but it is worth the wait and service is always friendly. Salsas are actually spicy. Check it out. read more

Friendly service and great food. Our group of 7 stopped by last weekend for a break from the arcade across the street. We all ordered different things and all of us were very pleased with the food. I had the chicken burrito which was very good, my friends who ordered the steak burrito raved about it. I love a place that gives me all my taco necessities: cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. Sweet! They didnt have flour tortillias, which is my fav, but they did offer one thing: frickin' 69 cent tacos! Its Taco Tuesday, kids! They lose a point for not having my fav shells, but at 69cent and stil tasting mighty good, I can live with that. Definitely better than my homemade tacos, falls behind Tbell as far as tatse, but gains that extra star for great, cheap prices. read more

The tacos are decent enough. The chicken and veggie ones are the best, but the ground beef is pretty gross. They do have some good specials, and we did take advantage of their 100 tacos for $50 during the Blackhawks season. This is VERY authentic Mexican food, and is great. The chicken is probably the best I have ever had. The place looks a little scary on the outside but don't let that stop you from going in. We've probably ordered pickup from here a couple dozen times over the last few years and have never been dissatisfied. They became our "go to" taco place due to their consistently tasty quality and value. So far as I can tell it has been the same cook every time I've ever been there. My husband made a stop in today to pick up some tacos as he came down Ogden. They were SO good. He said the restaurant was very clean and the service was great. I had mine American style with lettuce and cheese (tomatoes are offered, but I don't care for them) and he had the traditional with onions and cilantro. Best tacos I've had since we moved to the Western Suburbs. The Carne Asada had a nice little smokey flavor to it and the corn tortillas looked like they'd just been made. Make sure you ask for their hot sauce - it has a nice little kick and great flavor. We plan on going back and will try other items on the menu. read more

Tried to order. Someone put the phone down. Had me just sitting on the line for 12 minutes just to be hung up on. I called back and asked "What you dont ask if someone is o the line before hanging up?" Bad business. Have no intrest in ordering from them any time soon. It's always a wait. The BEST Mexican food ever. We order from TS 2-3 times a week. I love their ground beef burritos without lettuce. It's made to perfection. Good size, tasty dough. Went to Taco Stop for the first time last night for dinner. It was Taco Tuesday so tacos were only .94 cents. The lady at the counter was very nice and friendly. We ordered 7 tacos (tried all the types except for the veggie) and all of them were VERY good. I thought the chicken taco really stood out...moist and great flavor. Everything tasted very authentic. I was a customer of this place until stopping in one night and the girl working there over charging our diner by almost 7$ then lying to our face about made up charges. a taco dinner and a burrito suizo = two 7.50$ meals according to the chalk board (because the prices change every 20 minutes) when the girl working that night told us our total was 22.50 we said there must be a mistake, so she then said it was .25 cents per tap water which she had not said before and there was a 1:50 charge to eat in the resturant plus extra taxes!!! I dont get how a place that trys to screw people over that are coming in on weekend nights can be in buissness, oh and the food sucks too the only reason I was going was because the location. definitly switching to la cabinita or el fero. read more
