#31/2022 First things are back to full hours again contrary to what Yelp says they do not close at 5:00 p.m. they are now open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. I hadn't been to this one for a while thought about getting a wreck like I usually do; but I must say what a pleasant surprise to walk in and see that big billboard saying get the Cubano for a limited time! I said oh hell yes I will. And I did It was great. They should bring it back as a regular sandwich all the time many people agree it was one of their best you got the pulled pork the ham the thin sliced pickles the melted cheese with the Dijon mustard and I added a little bit of seasoning to it toasted perfectly it was fantastic. I went with the chips and the drink and I did the regular size 8 in and I walked out very pleased the iced tea unsweetened was brewed perfect and fresh a fantastic experience so I'm up in this one for today's visit to the full five bar Stars keep up the great work at this one. I vow to never visit this Potbelly ever, again. I am almost tempted never to visit any other Potbelly either, due to their horrible customer service and sandwiches. However, this location is the absolute worst. I ordered at the actual ordering section and went with a Biggie Veggie and a Biggie Tuna. In addition, I splurged and ordered an Oreo milkshake. Upon entering the payment section I hear the woman in front of me also order an Oreo milkshake and immediately receives mine. Which had been waiting for me, because I ACTUALLY ORDERED IT IN THE AREA I WAS SUPPOSED TO ORDER IT. The worst part was I heard her announce that she thought it was someone else's, but she had the audacity to readily take it anyways. Rather than start a scene with her, I kindly informed the employee that was actually my milkshake he had given away. He apologized and said they would quickly make me another. Hence, my milkshake was runny and tasted like milk only. Strike One. I went home and greedily opened my sandwich in anticipation. I got to the second half and noticed something about it tasted off. I attributed it to the bread being slightly burnt and took another bite. Nope, this sandwich was definitely off, because there was MEAT(tuna) ON A VEGETARIAN SANDWICH. Yes, a vegetarian of over 20 years had just consumed tuna. I felt ill for three hours after. Strike Two. Once I started to feel better I contacted Potbelly and was able to speak with the store "manager" Ryan briefly until he asked to place me on hold. I was on hold for ten minutes. I then called back and he informed me that staff had called in and they were extremely short so "could you please email exactly what happened and I will respond immediately?". I therefore wasted my time and energy writing an email and attaching a picture. I waited a day, then two, and then a week. No response. I contacted Corporate, no response. I even called back this location again and was assured by the assistant manager Ryan would call me back. No response. Strike Three. Potbelly is overpriced and sub-par as it is, but to have incompetent and rude "manager's" such as Ryan takes the cake. Add in a disgusting and inadequate response from Corporate? Honestly it's been a while since we had Potbelly for lunch. I was really happy with the online ordering for pickup, BUT be sure to check the customize button. My Italian was great, exactly what I expected. Our other sandwich the BLTA was on the dry side as we didn't check out how you could customize it. We popped for the meal deal, chips and a drink to share. If you are a salt and vinegar person, these are great chips. The large diet coke bottle was perfect for sharing. Probably what most impressed me was that it was ready as promised and it was noontime-lunchtime rush. I was greeted as I walked in and directed to the pickup area. In and out in less than a minute. I've eaten at other Potbelly's. I knew what to expect, so it wasn't like I went in expecting something that just doesn't exist. My mother and I went in to pick up some lunch. There was a lot of staff there, but most were stocking shelves and doing other things. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and chili bowls to take home. Service was slow given how outnumbered we were in the staff to client ratio, but when you want something good, you know you should be patient. When we got home, my dad opened the chili and said it was bland and he wasn't a big fan of it (he usually is). The next day, he tried the other chili and said it was much better. Not sure if it was because we received the end of one pot and then the new one or not, but he was still disappointed. Neither my mother's nor my sandwiches were correct in the order. Not what we ordered, nor what we asked to go on it. Really bizarre stop, but enough to make me not want to go back any time soon. Bummer. read more

This is my favorite sandwich place of all time. I have been eating Potbelly's since I was very small and there was just the original shop near Children's Hospital in Chicago (my mom would bring it home to me occasionally). And now, whenever I am near a Potbelly's, I MUST HAVE IT. As a vegetarian, I order the veggie sandwich/mushroom melt with everything on it -- especially a healthy dose of giardiniera. I've been to a few Potbelly locations now and this one probably ranks about the same as the rest. They seem to find the perfect spot because they're always packed every time I come in, no matter which store it is. I guess it's good for them, but bad for me 'cause I don't like lines. I put my order in early to try and beat the mad rush at lunch. I scheduled it for 11:15 AM pickup and made it there by 11:25. At 11:45, I was still waiting. Meh. This bothers me because I went through the trouble to put it in online to still have to wait. Might as well saved the trouble of ordering online and just waited. They were really busy when I got in, so this is obviously why my order was pushed to the back and made once I arrived. Food wise -- it's a great lil sandwich shop. Today I had the skinny tuna, which has less meat and cheese than the regular subs but only cost $4.00. I'd never had their tuna before (my usual is the wreck or roast beef) but I thought it was good. Less mayo than Subway, but packed with flavor. One thing I love about Potbelly is that the ingredients always seem really fresh and I love that you can add fresh mushrooms to any sandwich for $0.50. Mushrooms ARE the best vegetable out there. Their shakes and oatmeal cookies are also so dang delightful, that I don't allow myself to order them or even glance at them. If I do, I'll want to order them every day for the next few weeks. Overall, I'd give this location 3 stars due to the slow service today. I'll still be back because the food is good, but I hope next time they don't let me down again. (Oh and I second the person that said parking sucks here. The quest was on for a dinner that would fill, but not stuff. Restaurant after restaurant went by, until we stopped at Potbelly's. Stopped is a relative term for this one - you have to do jumping jacks to get to it on Rt 83 in Willowbrook. It's worth the effort. The staff was friendly, the interior was nice and antique-y, and the food was just plain good. My wife and I both went for the same thing, along with a bag of their salt and vinegar chips, both of which were good. The service was fairly fast. Overall, not a lot to complain about. I just love Potbelly's.! They have one of the best warm turkey sandwiches and THICK shakes. YUM! Great cookies and now salads. I am not sure if the ones in the burbs have it but the city ones serve breakfast and omg that is just as good. Who does not like a good egg breakfast sandwich that is def better than fast food. I like that this one was an old gas station. I like that they kept the original garage doors for the windows. I think all of the locations have a cool set up inside as far as decor and loft like atmosphere. I never had a bad experience at this one or others. They are pretty good at moving the line but this location could maybe use a little more seating. The only bad thing to say is getting in there can be a challenge if you are coming from the other direction but I manage. :) Overall, love it. read more

This is the WORST Potbelly I have ever visited. I've never had a bad experience in years of Potbelly until I visited this location for the first time today. We had issues with the horrible service and the quality of the food. We went to Potbelly solely because we saw an ad on their Facebook page that said it was free shake day. They did not want to honor the promotion. Told my husband it was only if you paid with the app. So he downloaded the app. It was raining and I waited in the car with the kids and they said all customers had to be present to get their free shake. We came in the store and then they said they needed to see a copy of the promotion so we showed them the ad from their own Facebook page. Then they said we could only have one. The ad said free shake with entree purchase. It did not say limit of one per family. My husband said we would just ring up our 4 entrees separately and they said they couldn't do it. Said all four of us have to have the app, sure like my children have smart phones. They kept delaying making our shakes and finally my husband just asked to be refunded for our food since they were not making shakes for us. They had moved on to making the orders for people behind us. The manager had the audacity to tell my husband that we were holding everyone in line up, when this whole situation was due to them not honoring their own Promo. They ended up ringing up our 4 meals separately and giving us the shakes but not after making a huge production and making us feel extremely unwelcome. Not sure if this was also a fail on Potbelly Corporate's marketing dept because there was certainly no rules on the ad and it felt like the store kept making them up on the fly. Took over 30 mins before we had the transaction resolved. My TKY was incredibly sparse, the meatball sub was dry with barely any sauce, and the baked potato soup was inedible, clumpy and the color and texture was off. My husband and I had our second date at the original Potbelly's in Chicago--way back when. Fast forward 24 years and find Potbelly's everywhere. They're even in St Louis now! That says a lot. Often, when local joints expand, quality suffers. Not the case for Potbelly's. The menu selections are varied and the service has been great in every location, this one included. The ingredients are fresh and the sandwiches are well put together in terms of ingredients and assembly. I love the way this Potbelly is a repurposed gas station that was vacant for years. Not a fan of the location here... if you're coming from South RTE 83, you must make a tricky U-turn at 75th to enter... be careful the red light camera at that intersection is brutal! You cannot enter from 75th street heading west... unless you make a U-Turn about 2 blocks further up. The parking lot here is also insane. Could use some new lines painted and maybe police to enforce the folks who block the RTE 83 entrance with their cars. The employees here are always friendly and prompt. This is a Potbelly's in a pretty busy area. It was a busy area when the Potbelly's went in a few years ago, yet the parking is inadequate for the restaurant. My advice to you is to go early or late, because during the peak lunch rush, you will likely be parked in an area that's not an actual spot. They are also ill-equipped to deal with many lunch groups larger than four. They have one table that will work for that kind of party. And it's frequently staked out by one guy and his laptop [note: this last part is not Potbelly's fault, but is my own pet peeve about diners]. In the warmer months, there is a patio out back that's generally pretty great to sit at. The food's fine, and I tend to not have any problems with it; however, I have failed to go here without at least one member of my group having their order wrong. They are quick to fix things, and always apologetic. read more

I used to work at this Potbelly location so I have a soft spot for this place. Even knowing the ins and outs of the place, I find it only to be an average sandwich shop. Potbelly sandwiches are unnecessarily messy! Even with the double wax wrapping paper, the liquid somehow messily dribbles out of the bottom of the sandwich onto my clean pants every time. Another thing that gets me every time is how the toppings station is set up. Unlike other sandwich joints where you can scrutinize every topping addition the sandwicher slaps onto your sandwich, you have no idea what is going on behind that counter! My sandwich was just messed up. I DID NOT ask for tomatoes and ordered a BIG sandwich. Since I did not see my sandwich until I opened it at home, my messed up sandwich is irreversible. There are the great parts of Potbelly. It's a quick place for a good priced tasty, baked, and warm sandwich. The soups are hit or miss, never had the cookies, and the milkshakes are really good!! I ordered online and expected to pick up my food from the mobile order shelf, but was surprised the shelf was empty. Instead, it seemed like people who mad mobile orders were waiting around in front of the door. The store wasn't very busy but the man who seemed to be the manager was running around the store flustered. When people went up to ask about their mobile order he told them they needed to wait. Once the line was gone, I told him I was picking up my order. I had seen my order behind the counter, but he turned me away and said I needed to wait my turn. Why do you have a shelf for mobile and online orders if you're not going to use it? This review is only about the physical location itself. The sandwiches are good as usual, and I love Potbelly's pizza sandwiches. But today was first day I came here. And I came here because I was starving, had no lunch prior to 4pm, and it was in the way back to the city. The place looks cool. It was converted from a gas station and Potbelly really did a good job inside. BUT the place was insanely cold. Granted, outside, temperature today dropped negative and 15 minutes outside exposing bare skin would give you frostbite, but there wasn't an excuse that I couldn't escape inside and warm up a little. Was that expecting too much? I ate my sandwich cold and wishing just to leave as fast as possible. Anyways, don't think you can be warm here during winter. :/ read more
