This is probably the busiest Culver's I've been to on a Wed night. There were cars constantly in the drive-thru and many people coming inside. I ordered Colby Jack pub double burger, mushroom & swiss double burger, and mashed potatoes & gravy. The mushroom & swiss double burger was mid, burgers were too bland. However, the Colby Jack pub double burger was really tasty with the cheese and the A1 pepper mayo. Mashed potatoes and gravy were also good. The fries I never really cared for. This is the worst Culver's I've been to and I travel extensively into Wisconsin and Illinois. Saw other reviews complaining they couldn't get orders right and I wish I read them before I pulled away. Ordered a tenderloin with lettuce, onion, pickle, ketchup, mustard, and mayo. I lift up the bun when I noticed there was no lettuce to find a lone pickle and no onions. I guess I should thank the farmers for the pickle. They need to fire the mgr if they can't get their staff to fill orders correctly. This was honestly the most awful burger I've ever tasted. I ordered the same butter burger with cheese that I do every-time and I spit it out after one bite. If you zoom in on the picture you can see it's absolutely COVERED in season/salt and not in a good way. It was all I tasted and it burned my tongue there was so much... I even had my boyfriend try it because I'm normally the picky type but he had the same reaction. This also comes as my boyfriend's butter burger tasted alright compared to mine... This location has gone downhill over the years and really hasn't impressed me last few visits. It seems as if everytime I go there, something is messed up, missing, or just not right. I hoped for better and I have given this location a few chances but this has unfortunately done it for me. the working who handed out our drinks and handled the payment even seemed completely out of it and made the entire interaction uncomfortable as well which didn't add to it. Being from California, frozen custard and Culver's is a new thing for me. I was recommended the fried cheese curds by my boyfriend so of course I had to get those, as well as a mini flavor of the day, which was peanut butter salted caramel. The drive through was pretty cool because they put a little hanger tag on your car and then you wait in an area for a real person to bring your food out. I think it's supposed to be faster this way since you aren't all waiting for one window... but it still took a good 10 minutes. However the cheese curds were suuuuper good and I totally get the hype. It even squeaked a little! But at 510 calories this is definitely more a heavy meal than a snack lol.. good to share as they're really small poppers, but that also makes them that much more addicting to eat. The concrete was also really tasty. The peanut butter flavor wasn't overwhelming and you get a bit of that creamy sweet caramel essence, and the best part was REAL ROASTED WHOLE PEANUTS. I've never had anything like that and it was delicious, totally made it feel like a fancier dessert than fast food. However I wasn't a huge fan of the texture, it was a little.. gritty almost? The flavor was much more eggy which I did like though. The mini is also the perfect size, I don't think I could handle any more than that. read more

WORTH THE WAIT My childhood Culver's seldom disappoints. I stopped in for a quick lunch this past Sunday, rekindling fond memories of coming here when I still lived at home in Darien. I'd probably have two dozen check-ins if Yelp existed back in the early 00's, but whatever. Their $5 snack pack meals are a great, cheap option for those on-the-go. I got a single bacon butterburger deluxe (comes with fries + small drink) though you can get just about any variant of their signature butterburger. The wait took longer than I'm used to (the Culver's in Franklin Park is lightning fast). Thankfully the folks here were friendly as always and the total w/tax came to exactly $6, which meant I didn't have to fish around for loose change. Solid location on Plainfield and just a stone's throw away from the Darien Sportsplex. Sure I'd recommend -- get the cheese curds! read more

My Darien Culver's has most often gotten it right. Great place to get a special treat. Just tell them what you want, we always ask for whip cream and a cherry on top no matter what we get. So today is December 15th . 8:33pm. My husband said lets do "Culvers" for dinner tonight..? I said sure since I never had it before I was excited. So my husband left made the order at their restaurant at which was at 7:08pm. We kept the receipt so we do have Proof that we made the order. The order was two double Cheese burgers with bacon and two orders of Fries. Now mind you We ALWAYS make the orders "WELL DONE" on the meats ALL THE TIME. When he got home with the food we proceeded to eat. He took two bites out of his burger and said "This is Raw"!!!! I bit my burger and it was Raw as well.. Very Upsetting for us which we paid and Trusted that they would make Our orders Correctely to which they did not! So we ate the fries for dinner and threw away the burgers.. WASTE OF MONEY!!!! This specific Culver's NEVER gets our order correct. Whether ordering through the drive thru or dining in, there is always something missed. I typically order the pot roast meal which comes with 2 sides and a roll. 3 times in a row I arrived home to find my roll missing. Today I ordered the pot roast meal with french fries and mashed potatoes. I asked the order taker to please remember my roll this time. I get home and I had no french fries.......ugh. I would also like to mention that while receiving my bag of three meals from the runner that goes out to the waiting cars, she was trying to shove my meal through my window opening that wasn't open all of the way because it needed to stay slightly up to hold their drive thru number. Felt like getting a burger today (like most days), so I did. I stopped by Culver's and ordered the single patty Culver's deluxe with fries and drink to go. Wait was short. The fries were warm and really good. I don't know who pays attention to ketchup, but I noticed the ketchup was tasty. Now to the burger, yum. Not the best in the world but definitely still good. Could use a bit more sauce or something for more flavour. Veggies in burger were fresh and the patty was juicy. I held back writing a review last time I went, but after back to back terrible experiences, I had to share. One, the employees are the same...and they couldn't care less about the customer. Customer service stinks (talking among themselves while the customer waits). Two, the last two times they over charged me and after I pointed it out, it took one of the employees forever to refund me. Three, the custard is terrible. It is gritty and they barely add any of the additional ingredients. Portions are small. Avoid this place...Oh, and Joe says, "Don't try to tell the customer what he wants. Under the recommendation of our friends, this is the place for frozen custard! We got here pretty late and frozen custard at anytime is always a good idea! I bet, he could tell how confused I looked because I was overwhelmed with excitement and there were so many choices. He was really nice and attentive. He checked on us to make sure we were satisfied with our food. Great customer service! I decided to get their flavor of the day, which was Caramel Pecan. There is a reason it is the flavor of the day...because it is delicious! The frozen custard is pretty amazing and cool which helped ease the humidity that evening. I love this Culver's! Service is always really nice and food is always brought to us quickly, whether we're the first ones there or if we go during a peak time. We usually come here when we get coupons in the mail, and end up getting 2-for-1 Culver's Deluxe butter burgers, 1 kids meal that is split between two toddlers as well as 2-for-1 concrete mixers with their frozen custard. With the coupons, we end up spending less than $20 which makes it for a great budget-friendly treat. Their burgers are definitely gut-busting and not the healthiest thing you can eat, but you don't go to Culver's for a healthy meal. It's a juicy, flavorful, filling patty with all the fixings on a buttery toasted bun. We love the frozen custard here too, either as a sundae or a concrete mixer (kind of like a blizzard from Dairy Queen, but with frozen custard). It's the perfect sweet ending! You can also choose from a wide variety of mix-ins (anything from various nuts, chocolate candies, cookies, fruits, etc.) to customize it to your liking. I'm knocking a star off because the women's bathrooms are filthy. I came here at 10:45AM (15 minutes after opening) and it was obvious the bathrooms were never cleaned (i.e. pee stains everywhere and unflushed toilets). Needless to say, I did not use it.
