The building and interior needs TLC and a good cleaning. There was dried food on the floor and apparently, that's OK since plenty of servers and managers walked on or by it several times. My simple fish & chip order was converted to a beef dish, and I had to wait until my husband almost finished his meal before I got served. The fish was horrible. Went in on a Friday afternoon about 2 pm. A man seated us in the back dining room and gave us menus. We looked it over and decided on our lunch. WE WAITED, AND WAITED, AND WAITED. Two ladies waited and conversed with some other ladies about where they lived and and how the neighborhood was. One went out the side door and came back about 10 minutes later. Still no one came over. What the heck!!! AFTER 20 MINUTES, WE DECIDED TO LEAVE AFTER I COULD NOT FIND ANY WAITRESS! As we were leaving, here tshe comes and says "have a good day" I said we waited 20 minues fot service so we are leaving. She rolls her eyes and said sorry as she is shrugging her shoulders. WOW. I always have a good time when I come here and sit at the bar. It's U shaped and all the patrons are engaging. Plus our favorite bartender works on Sunday afternoons. Great service and environment. We usually love this place but this time we had a bit of disappointment. The GOOD-stuff first - Both customers and wait staff are fabulous here. Everyone is kind, has a smile and the atmosphere just makes you feel as comfortable as can be. Started out with the O'Rings appetizer. EXCELLENT - not greasy, not too heavily breaded, and super tasty. Soup/salad - tasty and good. Ordered the prime rib specials, 1 medium rare, 1 medium. The medium rare was perfectly cooked and tasty. The medium was over-done, grainy, tough and overdone. We will go back, everyone has a bad day :-( read more

We have had many great meals here... until this past Sunday. Fish Chips was the worst !!!! I have ever had. I have ordered this before and it was never bad. I attempted to eat one of the pieces, but it was totally gross overcooked breading covering some old tough cod. Disgusting. Must've been in the freezer way too long. Took my partner in on Veterans Day on his special day. He had always wanted to try Bucks. It started off with a very friendly hostess that started our experience off right. Our waitress on the other hand was annoyed that I asked for a coffee and none was made. After that it was all down hill from there. We ordered a sampler platter that came to the table with mashed pickles missing the breading. And everything else just tasted like the fryer. I ordered a Greek Salad w no meat. We have come here three times now and it has been consistently good. It is in the middle of a residential area and has a dining room and bar. The waitress was super friendly and kept up even taking care of both rooms. Wagon wheel sampler is a great value and the fried chicken was one of the best I have tried. If you don't know about this place you will most likely never find it. It is nestled off the main roads in a mostly residential area. The decor here is all auto racing, which is very cool. All of the servers are friendly and do an excellent job of taking care of guests. The daily specials are a very good deal I have never had a bad meal here. The food is always good there. Don't put any money in the slots. If you sent to gamble go somewhere else.

My mother has been coming to Buck's for years with friends so naturally she chose it for her 90th birthday dinner with her kids and grandkids. We were a table of 12 and they kindly put us at a quiet spot in the back where ambient noise would not be a problem. We were allowed to decorate the table area in advance: even the bar behind which made it look so festive. Server Donna gave us stellar service, checking in often and anticipating what we needed even though she had other customers elsewhere. Donna was the greatest. Sometimes large dinners have everybody looking at their watches. Not here. Everything was paced perfectly and done with a sense of humor. Best of all, Mom was able to get her favorite menu items, frog legs and martinis. I should let first timers know that when you enter the door, don't be surprised to get stares from the regulars warming up the bar stools. It's not just a glance - they stare you down. The food is great and great service also. I have been here serveral times and taken friends here also. I am amazed at how good everything is at prices(low) they charge. The place looks like a dive from outside, but step into a very good place to eat. The burgers are awesome and very big, the first time I took my wife I challendged her eat the whole burger. She did finish and I could not, she is 118 lbs, soaking wet. I have had other food from the menu and never had any disappointment with any meal. I had the fried chicken dinner and being from Louisiana my standards are high. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. Dinner included a cup of Chicken and Dumpling Soup that had huge hunks of chicken and the dumplings were large and had a good flavor. The chicken had a golden crispy crust. I'd heard about this place from a person I know who knows good places to go. I'm so glad I finally went! On Sunday, and Sunday only, they have a 1/2 fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes/gravy and a vegetable (along with soup or salad) for $8.25!!! The chicken was delicious. Great crust, fully cooked (I don't like "wet" chicken) and so smoking hot when it arrived, I had to let it rest before tearing into it. The mashed potatoes were to die for delicious. I don't know what they put in them....cream, sour cream? don't know but those potatoes alone have me wanting to go back already. The draft beer is very very cold and their lines are clean as the beer tasted great. Reasonably priced as well ($2.25 for a pint). We will be going back. I want to try some of the other food on the menu that sounded great as well. The car racing motif is cute too. Oh, did I mention the place is spotless. Looks like you could eat off their floors. To the reviewer who mentions it was dead at 9PM, I think it's because it's not a later night place. On Sunday (not sure about other days), the kitchen closes at 8PM. I have to start by saying the hostess was not pleasant. I decided though - that the reputation of this place and its burgers was enough to prod my chunky-butt over to a table. Now this is a NASCAR themed restaurant - but don't hold that against them. This restaurant knows a lot about customer service which - as we know - is a dying art. We ordered the King Petty Burger and two plates. The King Petty Burger is a one-pounder. We split it. (I didn't need to, but my friend only wanted a quarter of a burger - so what the heck.) Now most places - when you split - they charge extra but all they are giving you is an extra plate. It sucks to have to pay for the use of a plate. At Buck's - they do things a little differently. Both plates got a slice of onion, a slice of tomato, and a leaf of lettuce. We didn't have to split that up. Also both plates got a normal size order of fries. I am not sure if they charged extra- but I know the care to detail - and making the customer feel valued was worth the couple extra bucks. The young girl serving us - Sarah - began to get overwhelmed with the amount of customers - but she never lost her way. She kept up a professional demeanor - much more than the hostess. I love a good burger and I don't mind NASCAR. I will go back to Buck's and work my way down their menu and back up to the King Petty Burger (which I won't share next time).
