The atmosphere was spectacular lights, beer, music, and nothing but good vibes. Afterward, a friend suggested we check out Q Bar, telling me how great of a place it was. I had never been before, so I was excited to see what it was all about. When we walked in, we were greeted with cheap drinks and pool tables. At that point, I was thinking, what a night. Unfortunately, that changed pretty quickly. One of our friends decided to leave, so we stepped outside to say goodbye. The door was literally still open, and we were outside for maybe a minute. When we tried to walk back in, we were told we had to pay a reentry fee. I honestly thought it was a joke. We explained that we had just stepped outside to say goodbye to a friend and had never actually left for the night. Instead of any understanding, we were met with an unnecessary amount of aggression from the staff. I completely understand having a reentry policy, but there has to be some common sense and basic customer service involved. Charging someone to reenter when they stepped outside for less than a minute while the door was still open is ridiculous. The way the situation was handled made it even worse. I came in expecting to have a great night and support a local bar after hearing such good things about it. Unfortunately, the experience with the staff completely overshadowed what could have been a fun night. Hopefully management takes a look at how situations like this are handled, because a little professionalism and understanding would have gone a long way.
