I love this place! It's in my area, so very convenient. I have been repeatedly impressed with the food and I love taking people here to share it with them. My favorite dishes: - chicken soup (homemade, NOT overly salty like many restaurant soups) - chicken kebab wrap (FRESH cooked chicken, FRESH veggies, YUM!) - any deli sandwich (they are generous with the meat and use quality bread) The inside is clean with lots of seating. We have enjoyed over the years the Mediterranean cuisine at Putterham Grille in Chestnut Hill under Al's expert management and the talented chefs there. Recently a family gathering around a milestone birthday and organized at the last minute led us to the catering service of the restaurant. What a wonderful experience! Sean and his team provided delicious appetizers such as spinach pie and mini crab cakes with remoulade sauce made from scratch. Dinner entrees of chicken and steak kabobs with sides were superb. A voucher deal led us to the Putterham Grille located at The Shops at Putterham, just off a rotary. A sign posted on the restaurant wall clearly stated 1 hour parking, but staff told us that we would be fine. Good thing, since I figured that dinner would last beyond an hour. Bread was room temperature, sliced from a narrow baguette with a chewy rather than crisp crust. Olive oil and vinegar was available on the table. Along with their single sided regular menu, a daily specials menu sheet was also provided. I opted for the salmon dish from the specials as I was lured in by the promise of truffled sweet potato fries. Well, the promise was fulfilled with light crisp sweet fries - yum! - accompanied by a good portion of tender salmon and a respectable serving of sauteed spinach. The lamb (Braised American Colorado Lamb Shank $24.99) on the other hand was plenty tender lamb which was easily removed from the bone, but with a count of but 3 apiece of asparagus spears and carrot chunks, the veggie portion of the meal was a tad pathetic (though they tasted good and were appropriately cooked). I'm not crazy about mushrooms, but even I felt that the mushroom risotto went well with the dish. Okay, to backtrack a bit - the Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese Salad $10.99 (baby arugula, crumbled goat cheese, roasted red beets, julienne pear, sliced strawberry, candied walnut, raspberry balsamic vinaigrette) was a shareable portion for 2-3 depending on how much salad you want. It was a composed salad, rather than tossed, which would please a finicky eater. Me, I mixed mine together although the soft cheese had to be treated with special consideration in order to enjoy some with each bite. The ingredients were fresh. The only negative was that the greens were overly dressed. Their dessert menu is simple and affordable, filled with homemade options from your Greek-American Yaya's kitchen, and topping out at $7.99 for a slice of Ricotta Pie. The cold Rice Pudding $4.99 was tasty and filling creamy goodness. The Apple Pie $5.99 was served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I preferred the pudding over the pie, but then I am partial to a crumb topping on my apple pies. Observation led me to believe that their clientele tends to be of the more mature crowd. Noise also carries through the room, though it did not hamper our conversation. Service was pleasant on the whole, and my water was refilled often enough. My DC is all for coming back. 3.5 stars. read more

I want to give these guys props for nice service and good food during lockdown days. We stopped in Sat evening and got four to go orders of chicken kabob plate w rice and salad, steak kabob plate, Reuben and an odd but delicious fried chicken shepherds pie all in the $8-17 range (as are most of the items). Guy working there was sweet, food held up well as we walked to find a place to eat outdoors and it was tasty and good for leftovers. The salads are excellent and the improved interior over previous restaurants at the same location adds to the dining experience. Servers are attentive. We've tried some entrees but did not tonight. Salads with some toppings - and a spinach pie that was excellent and prepared different, for example compare to another excellent spinach pie at Farm Grill - just Different. HOWEVER, I asked for the take-out items to be on a separate check, and they weren't. What was worse is that we failed to act as Quality Control check-out clerks ourselves and did not notice that yet again the French Fries were not there as they failed to put them in. Love this place! We have only had sandwiches to go (basic roast beef and falafel gyro wrap). Roast Beef Sandwich: cooked perfectly, lettuce and tomatoes were fresh as was the dark rye bread. Falafel Wrap: delicious as was the lettuce, tomatoes and hummus to compliment the sandwich. The half sour pickles are substantial and not an afterthought. The French fries are very good too! Found out about this place through Groupon. Came here on a Monday night, so it was pretty quiet. There was an odd smell in the restaurant as soon as I walked in, but it wasn't too strong. I tried the matzo ball soup, salmon dish, and salad. The salmon dish was one of the best I've tried - perfectly seasoned, creamy, and beautifully presented. Putterham was fantastic and I'm so happy I found this place. The waiter was super attentive and very helpful with any menu questions. I ordered the broccoli and cheese quiche, which was so big! It was very very good. I tried the matzo ball soup also which is made entirely in house. Definitely a must-try. My boyfriend ordered the hot corn beef/pastrami sandwich, which he loved. Food was good, bread was fresh. Fries were excellent! Generous portions on the salmon for my wife's bagel and lox. My only complaint of sorts is how clean the place is. There was some ketchup and whatnot on the walls. Bathroom was eh... The setup isn't great for the kitchen. We were there at an odd hour of 3:30, so I will give them that. The very best was their grilled salmon with melt-in-your-mouth creamy mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Made with lemon butter sauce, the salmon was exquisite and paired nicely with a chardonnay suggested by their knowledgeable staff. Their traditional Greek desserts trump over the American counterparts. If the waitress suggest the Galaktoboureko, it is best to comply. The staff is exceptionally welcoming and energetic. Happy to educate with which of their wines goes best with your meal, they encourage their guests to taste before buying. Neat little restaurant/deli shop.. located inside a little plaza with Starbucks, a bakery, etc. You can order out in the front or have grab a seat for dining. I got the chicken gyro. It was so good. The chicken was perfectly flavored... grilled and not dry. The white sauce was BOMB! The pita was the best.... maybe because I love bread. Their fries are like the Cajun fries (thick and crispy!) My husband said the steak and cheese wrap was OK, maybe he's just use to it as a sub. Didn't get anything else but definitely will be back to try some other stuff. The price was decent for lunch. One of our favorite local restaurants. On this night we went to celebrate my mother's birthday. Once again the good was excellent. The chicken marsala remains one of the best I've had. Wife had the shrimp scampi; mother had the salmon, and my boys both had the chicken parm. All loved their meals. The boys feel this is their favorite chicken parm. However, on this night the kitchen was unbelievably slow. We waited 30 minutes following our salads to get our entrees. We were told it was attributable to a great number of take out orders and a new chef. Our striking server, Joanne, was very good, but should have offered a round of drinks. I subsequently asked for comped desserts, which they provided. Fortunately, the food quality assuaged the painfully long wait. Still... one of our favorites. read more

The menu is somewhat diverse, offering many choices, from deli sandwiches to traditional Greek fare. The place itself is nice, nestled in a strip mall in the Chestnut Hill area. Consisting of mostly tables, with some booths lining the walls, the place is quaint. It was clean also, which is generally something I notice immediately at a new place. On to the Food! The pita bread... WOW. It's really soft, almost like the Na'an bread. It's perfectly grilled also! That's perhaps my favorite part. I'm a huge Tzatziki fan! Love the stuff. I find the Putterham Grille to do a decent one, although I personally think they overdue the dill and underuse the garlic (and I'm not sure if there's also mint in there), but I am a big fan of the more garlic-y ones. The Gyro was good. The chicken breast was thin, and grilled to perfection. Between the pita and chicken, I couldn't ask for better. My complaint would be that instead of using a tomato, onion, lettuce mix you find at most places, they use a Tabouli mix. I didn't care for it as much, and next time I might ask to not have it put on there. It's a personal preference. We will be back. We will probably try different menu items. They had no kids menu but the waitress said that they had chicken tenders and fries so we thought that would be okay. The wife had a Greek salad with chicken and the French onion soup to start. She said the soup was so so and the salad was fresh and the chicken was prepared well. The boy had a huge portion of the chicken teriyaki tenders and a whole plate of fries. He did not need all that food. She brought it out about 25 minutes before our meals. Which I guess was nice but why did it take so long for our meals?? So my steak with blue cheese came out and it was terrible. It looked delicious medium rare the way I like it! I put it in my mouth and chewed and chewed and chewed. This was the toughest piece of meat I have ever eaten. It's like they took a chuck steak and tried to make a Sirloin out of it. On top of that there was little to no blue cheese on it. When I asked for more we where charged a 1.00$. For three of us, drinking soda water, the bill came to with tip 90$. A bit pricy for so so food. read more

Unbelievable BRUNCH!!!!! I don't know why these guys don't advertise, my friends told me to bring my family for brunch on Sunday. Highly recommend to try pancakes! Chef brought them out for us personally on a huge plate! Pancakes were mega DELICIOUS!!! We also had omelettes and French toasts. Portions are big, prices are reasonable.
