Wow! I hadn't been to Putnam's in many years and was in the neighborhood on Valentine's Day. So my partner and I stopped in for a delightful brunch. The staff were super friendly and attentive. And, the food was delicious! I love the vibe of Putnam's -- great pub feel but super bright and welcoming. I didn't realize they even did brunch and I will certainly be back again for more!

Wellfleet Oysters

I come here a lot so I was surprised I haven't reviewed them before. I am never disappointed with the service or food. Its a a warm, nostalgic restaurant with timeless appeal. I highly recommend the steak on the dinner menu, the wellfleet oysters, the Caesar salad, shrimp tacos, and the cheeseburger egg rolls. This restaurant does not disappoint. I'm always looking forward to my next visit.

Tried the chicken pot pie and it was delicious. The service was great and the ambiance was cute. Will definitely be coming back

Homemade Whipped Ricotta with honey

I came here for a Walk for Alzheimer's kick off event and it was so fun! I had a prosecco with some light bites. The service was very attentive and friendly. The ambiance was very chill. The light bites were great! The ricotta with honey was a tasty surprise as I love cheese and I love sweets. The delay on horseback, basically a bit of fried oyster on a deviled egg, was a fun play on flavor and different texture.

Great service! Been going here for years now and always have a great time and great drinks! Have also been to a couple birthday parties here at the atmosphere and service is always 10/10!

Omg I'm so biased. I used to love coming here about 10+ years ago so when a friend and I were up for some tasty food and driving by I suggested we dine! Some of the items on the menu were unavailable that day. For appetizers we had the cheeseburger rolls which we LOVE the mustard that comes with it. Those came out quickly. For entrees we had the crispy fried chicken. Drier on the inside than we anticipated and took over 45 minutes to come to the table. I'd give the food a 3/5 For drinks we had espresso martinis and those were tasty. 4.5/5 For dessert we had the strawberry cheesecake and the chocolate lava cake both of which were delicious! 5/5 for dessert The service was good. After we explained the delay to the server and manager they were very kind and attentive thereafter! 3.5/5 The ambiance was dark and fun. Def good for date night, girl nights, and families with kids who don't mind sitting down. This isn't that large of an eatery so I would not recommend for families with children that like to run around. 3/5 The experience, while not quite what I remember, was still a good time. 2 thumbs up for redemption and I would return if I was in the area and try other things on their menu.

Came here for lunch during work. Got the garden omelette the egg was quite soft when biting into it but lacked some flavor. Needed some salt. The service at the restaurant was excellent

Putnam's Pub is located in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn. We visited during Myrtle Restaurant Week 2024, which was held from 2/16 - 2/25. Myrtle Restaurant Week 2024 Participating Restaurants had specials that included multi-course prix-fix meal packages that were either $20, $30, or $40. Although we had to wait for about an hour for our table, they texted me that our table was ready. After going to Casa No No for pre-dinner cocktails , we returned to Putnams Pub and was seated. Putnams Pub gave us delicious food and a great dining experience. Putnams Pub is walking distance from the G, A & C trains. It is close to other eateries and shops along Myrtle Ave. Putnams Pub Myrtle Restaurant Week dinner special was 3 courses for $40 - an appetizer, entree & dessert. We both ordered the following: 1.) Appetizers - Roasted Beets of Fennel Salads (homemade ricotta, blood orange & pistachio vinaigrette). 2.) Entrees- Steak Frites (marinated hangar steak) w/ chinchilla sauce, mixed greens & mashed potatoes. We also shared an order of Cauliflower Fritters. 3.) Dessert - Raspberry Cheesecake (we were so gratefully stuffed and satisfied that we took our desserts to-go) All of the courses were delicious and filling, and were prepared and plated well. We enjoyed the Putnams Pub ambiance as they have simple decor, lighting, mixed style tables & seating arrangements, and also have booth style seating. There are cool stool seats along the bar area where one can also have full dining service. Great music was playing in the background. Special Shout-Out to Chyna, Dylan, Sarah & Shayna, as well as all of the other hardworking staff at Putnams Pub that ensured that we had superb customer service. Everyone was so kind and wonderful. Thanks for the fabulous cocktails! Website - putnamspub.com Instagram - @putnamspub Putnams Pub has lunch, dinner & brunch service. Bar Service is every day from 11am - Midnight, except on Fri & Sat. which is until 1am. Brunch Service is on Sat. & Sun. 11am - 4pm.

I come here all the way from Long Island because I just love their food and drinks. The video shows their old smoke - love it! The food is always on point and their servers are always friendly and on point.

I stopped into the Putnam for after work drinks with my friends. The bar staff made us feel right at home and accommodated our 8 person group at the bar even though we didn't have a reservation. The bar itself is so lovely and rustic with the perfect dim mood lighting for a date or a night out with friends. I tried the mimosas and they were fresh and tasty. Definitely want to come back and try some items off of their menu as the food looked very enticing

Tepache

Nice fun bar and restaurant! Enjoyed the beers and trying the Tepache, came in a totem mug. Really great drinks and relaxing casual vibe, staff is very friendly!

Oysters

Went for the 20$ AYCE oysters, stayed for the trivia (only on Thursday!) The happy hour menu was really good - 6$ margaritas, 4$ snacks like the chicken liver mousse (amazing) and marinated olives (too mushy) The oysters were okay, not amazing, too much shell in some of them, but for 20$ for 90 minutes, what can you ask for

Lakisha A.

As much as I'm in the area, I finally decided on an impromptu brunch with a friend. I was rather underwhelmed. The service was meh and so was the food. It wasn't too crowded so I'm not sure what contributed to all the confusion. Maybe I'll give them another try and update this review sometime in the near future.

The host and the manager, gave me a free drink.

As someone who has come to this bar regularly to watch Knicks playoff games, I can confidently say…read moreI will never return after what happened during the NBA Finals last night. What this bar pulled was completely unacceptable. They were openly reserving seats at the bar for certain people while telling everyone else they were unavailable. There was no advertised reservation policy, no advance notice, and no opportunity offered to regular customers. Apparently, the only way to get a seat is to know the owner, know the bartenders, or be part of the inner circle. What made it even worse was that my group had been sitting at the bar, ordering food and drinks starting around 7:30 PM, only to be forced out of our seats at 7:45 PM. The reservation signs on those seats clearly stated they were reserved for 8:15 PM. We were paying customers actively spending money, yet we were removed 30 minutes before the supposed reservation time. That is absolutely egregious behavior. I've worked in sports bars and have owned sports bars in New York City. In all my years in the business, I have never heard of reserving seats directly at the bar--especially during a major sporting event. It goes against everything that makes a sports bar successful. Bar seats have always been first-come, first-served. That's Sports Bar 101. I've spent plenty of money here over the years because it was always a great place to watch big games: good atmosphere, sound on the TVs, and a fun crowd. Unfortunately, last night proved that customer loyalty means absolutely nothing. Regular patrons were treated like second-class citizens while preferred customers received special treatment. For a bar that markets itself as a neighborhood sports destination, this was incredibly disappointing, unprofessional, and frankly insulting. If you're planning to watch a major game here, don't assume you'll be treated fairly. Unless you're friends with the right people, don't expect the same experience as everyone else. There are plenty of other sports bars in Brooklyn that understand how to treat customers. After last night, I'll be spending my money there instead. I won't be back, and I certainly won't be recommending this place to anyone. Let's Go Knicks
