They asked me to show proof that the battery was purchased then when I did they ignored my messages. I showed the payment coming out of my account and a receipt. Since then my daughter has had an oil change and they company she went to showed her a report of all the things that had not been done to the car. We are now going to pay $200 for the transmission fluid to be flushed and and an extra $27 for an air filter. All the items that are highlighted in the picture Putnam said they took care of but didn't. Please be careful when purchasing from this dealership! Don't take their word for anything... Putnam Chevy service is a rip off. A regular 15k service on a Bolt EUV (this is 100% electric, no gas engine) should not cost over $500. They rotated tires and replaced a cabin air filter. Didn't do an alignment, so why the up charge? And to top it off there was a check engine light they didn't even diagnose, saying we would have to come back for another visit. Not a chance. I left a message with the manager about why they seem to have taken advantage of my mom, a senior citizen by charging $500+ for a check that should be less than $100. Never received a callback. Negotiated the price + payment method via cashier's check with salesperson Pierre, then hit a wall after asking for a pre-purchase inspection to be performed at our expense by an independent shop. "They don't like to do that," replied Pierre. I made it as easy as I could, identifying a top-rated shop 10 blocks down California Street from Putnam, with availability that day or the next. Pierre said maybe they could drive it there, he'd check. Then, silence. Until Pierre called me that night at 10:24 pm and left no voicemail. Next morning, I left a voicemail for sales manager Max and a text for Pierre, noting the late-night call and politely asking again to set up an inspection. Pierre replied to my text with "I'm sorry miss dialed you," but that was it. No response from the sales manager. Next day, the Malibu was still on Putnam's website, with a price lowered by $100. We finally made the decision to get an EV after years of doubt and maybe feelings. When it comes to cars, Im old school. I like the gas, the smell and the sound of a good ol combustion engine.I been working on cars all my life and I didnt want to admit that EV is the future. We did some home work on EV out there and ultimately decide on a Chevy Equinox EV. It had the best range based on the value and the type of car (Subcompact SUV). And sorry, no to Tesla (some folks out there will understand). I started looking at Chevy website and got the ideal package in mind. Went to a few dealerships and didnt find anything (nothing in stock or just was ignored). That was when decide to check out Putnam Chevrolet. We were happily greeted and then introduced to Noe. He sat down with us and listened to what we wanted in our EV. He had a few in stock and showed us a few in person. He answered our questions and concerns on the EV and if he didnt have the answer, he found a way to get it. Great customer service along with just a great conversation with Noe (found out he and his family live in the same city we do!) We were treated like friends/family! First off, they don't have time for their customers. It took me 3 days just to schedule the appointment. I should have taken that as a sign. They took my car in first thing on Tuesday and told me they would call with a quote before starting the work. When the didn't call by 3:30, I called them. They told me my service rep would call me back after finishing with a customer. 35 minuts later, I left a message for the serive manager to call me back. After not hearing back from either, I went to the shop. They apologized and promised to have some look at it (now day two) and get back to me by 3:30. They did not. The next day they called to tell me the price I paid for the diagnostics wasn't enough to fully diagnose the problem and they wanted $415 more just to diagnose the problem. Secondly, they did discover oil seeping from the oil pan and, now on the third day, estimated $6,000 to fix. This is about 2 to 3 times the going price. Needless to say, I will not be using Putnam again...ever. read more

I think I am done with the Putnam Chevrolet service department. I expected that getting service done through a dealer meant they would be informed and stand behind their work. In particular, I have had ongoing issues with my tires there. They told me that 1) they were not familiar with the warranty for the tires they sold me 2) I would need to take it up with Michelin and 3) my tire could not be repaired/they will not warranty a patched tire. This is SOP elsewhere. They also tried to tell me my 1 year old tires were nearly worn out after 20,000 miles. Typical is twice that. Similar for the tires I bought from them 2 years ago (40K ago). Putnam Jeep review: After I drove my brand new Jeep Sahara 4xE off this lot, the salesman who said call for any questions never answered another of my emails or calls. I just had basic questions but couldn't get anyone there to respond to me. I guess they're done with you once you make your purchase. Then I had an accident with the Jeep and they kept it in service for over 6 months to resolve the issue. It was insane. Shortly after that, numerous other parts were suddenly broken/failed for no obvious reason so the Jeep has been back in their shop for months. They claim this delay is due to backordered parts but I got notified they received the parts over a week ago and still haven't prioritized my Jeep to be fixed. Again, this is insane. This place has terrible service and quality. I will absolutely never buy a Jeep from them again and I may stop buying Jeeps in general moving forward because of the continued terrible experience I get with this dealership. My Jeep has been in their shop more than I've had it. Something is fundamentally broken here, and it's them. Fine for super basic stuff like oil changes but other than that - STEER CLEAR OF THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT. read more

Lack of communication, I as the customer initiated all contact to get updated and figure out when work would be complete. I wasn't even told the problem or the work that would be required until I reached out. My truck dropped off on a Monday and stayed in the shop for about 5 days. I asked about a rental since my vehicle is under warranty but told they would look and never provided one to me. I was told by the service advisor my truck would be ready at 300p Friday. When I was about to head over to pick it my vehicle they said they needed until 500p. When I arrived to pick up my car it still wasn't ready, waited around more than 30 minutes. Also car wash is not provided after service. When I picked up my car noticed the infotainment system wasn't working properly. Wouldn't power off and volume wasn't working had to return the following Monday to drop off my car. For those of you who may be deciding whether to have your vehicle serviced at Putnam Chevrolet in Burlingame, I suggest that you think twice before choosing this place. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this service center. There seems to be a serious disconnect in their service department between the ones setting up the appointments and the service technicians. I assume appointments are booked to corral the customer yet once you are actually being assisted by the technician who will be servicing your vehicle, the appointment time is completely meaningless. The following explains my experience with Putnam Chevrolet Service Center this past week (9/22/25-9/27/25). I encountered a power steering issue with my 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe LT (57k miles). I reached out to Putnam Chevrolet Service Center in Burlingame, CA to get the issue resolved for reasons being they're local & it is a certified Chevrolet service center so there'd be less hassle. Being that they are a certified Chevrolet service center, I do understand that they opt to use OEM parts as well as charge a premium price for these parts and labor. However, with that being the case, I also expect to receive a level of service to match those costs. I was sadly mistaken. I contacted their office on Monday 9/22 at 3pm (3 hours prior to closing) to book a service appointment which the operator confirmed for Tuesday 9/23 at 7:30am. Being that I work full time during the day, I coordinated to have the vehicle towed to their location that Monday night 9/29 prior to them closing so that they can have my vehicle for the designated appointment time the next day. I paid for a tow that early evening & arrived with the vehicle at Putnam Chevrolet at about 5:45pm to check the vehicle in. As the vehicle is being checked in, it is mentioned that their service department is "backed up" and that the vehicle may not be diagnosed in the next 2 days. I then notified the technician (Frank L.) that an appointment was just made for 7:30am the next day in which case he appeared to realize it & may or may not have made a correction to the report. A service quote was then provided promising I'd get a diagnosis on the vehicle by 9/24/25 at 3:30pm, still a whole day later than the 9/23/25 7:30am appointment that was booked for a diagnosis. Had the situation regarding actual service availability been made aware to me at time of booking the appointment, I would never have paid to have my vehicle towed to Putnam & would have chosen another Chevrolet service center to get it serviced. Being that this is our primary "family" vehicle (family of 6), I inquired about any "loaners" to use as the vehicle is being serviced. Frank told me that none were available and I was recommended to a local Hertz all without knowing the duration of actual service. I was expected to rent a vehicle without having a duration of service let alone a confident time in which the vehicle would even be diagnosed. Leading up to the "promised" time (9/24 at 3:30pm), I reached out to Frank for any updates on the diagnosis. I was given the runaround excuse that a certain specialized technician was not available or it was taking longer than expected and an answer would not be provided until the following (Thursday 9/25) morning. I was even called on Wednesday 9/24 morning by the operator who booked my Tuesday appointment stating, "I see you had missed your Tuesday appointment would you like to reschedule?". My jaw dropped. I then notified her that the vehicle has been in their possession since Monday evening like we had discussed at the time of booking in which case she seemed to go back on her statement and mentioned the service tech would contact me with any updates. So now the initial appointment time (Tuesday 9/23 7:30am) as well as the check-in invoice promised time (Wednesday 9/24 3:30pm) has come and gone without a diagnosis. I assume at this point the vehicle has been left untouched the entire time it has been in their possession. I finally decided early Thursday 9/25 morning in a text to Frank to pull the plug and have my vehicle returned so that I can have it serviced elsewhere. Frank then called me and insisted on at least providing a diagnostic. I'm amazed that, with the vehicle having been in their possession for 2 whole days, that a diagnosis in the next hour would be provided. I mention that I am not paying for that service and with having to coordinate with another service center in place while also working my full time job during the day, I allow for Putnam to perform the diagnosis. After being led on for almost 3 days, the diagnosis (electronic steering rack to be replaced) was finally provided along with a quote (totaling $2,500 "discounted") along with a duration (5 days for service + next day shipping of parts). I went from eagerly awaiting any updates on my vehicle for 2 whole days to now being pestered into deciding as soon as possible to perform a service by Frank and his team. (continued...) read more
