I had a very positive experience recently at Serramonte Kia purchasing an EV6. I already leased an older EV6, had done my research and knew exactly what I wanted. Karoush was great -he didn't waste my time on things I didn't need, but knowledgeably answered any questions I did have. Best of all, although I was willing to accept one of the vehicles that were local, he knew my first choice for color and took the time to go several hours away to pick up one in that color, so I could be completely satisfied. On top of that I got a great deal and my lease payment is actually significantly less than what I was paying on my older EV6, same trim package. RC in finance was also super easy and efficient to work with. In the past, my biggest issue with car buying has been all of the BS and wasted time, and I got NONE of that with Kia Serramonte. I contacted Serramonte Kia because my current Kia Niro EV lease expires soon, and I am actively shopping for my next EV lease. I was interested in one of the lease specials advertised by the dealership on their website and contacted a salesperson by text to get a quote. He responded that he would be happy to send me a quote, but first wanted to know if I was ready to move forward and could come in if they worked out the deal I was looking for. I explained that I was not interested in coming in and was simply getting lease quotes at this point. His response was: "Since you live so far away, I'm not interested in giving you a quote to shop around with." I was honestly surprised by this response. I understand that a dealership doesn't have to offer a particular price, but refusing to provide a quote simply because a customer wants to compare offers seems like a poor way to treat a potential customer--especially someone who already drives a Kia and is looking to lease another Kia. I wasn't asking them to hold a vehicle or spend hours with me at the dealership. I was simply asking for their lease numbers so I could compare them with other Kia dealers. Nobody knew who had been reassigned to my car or if it was even looked at. The work order was incomplete and most things were never entered. The staff was rude and unhelpful. A gentleman did respond to the post saying the normal : This should never have happened etc. And to call the manager at Serramonte Subaru to address the problem. I called and the manager that I was supposed to talk to was not there. I was asked to leave him a voicemail which I did. I got no response. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a company and subjected to the rudest staff ever. I am now going to Burlingame Kia. This is a terrible dealership. I have held off on writing this review thinking it could get better but every interaction I have with this place is terrible so now I feel the need to write this review. Here are the variety of issues I have had: 1) Leasing my car - sold the car they reserved for me: I came in and spent two hours with the salesperson choosing car. I chose the car and then the dealership was closing so he said come back tomorrow and the car will be waiting for you. I came back 10 minutes after the dealership opened and somehow the car had been sold the night before. Why did he tell me to come back or promise me that the car would be saved? I ended up getting another car there that was way fewer options (no auto opening trunk, no 360 cameras, no auto unlock as you approach the car). I really wanted the electric car so I went with it but I was floored by their dishonesty. 2) Servicing my car - they punctured my tire. I drove to the dealership with four good tires. I picked up my car, drove to the exit of the dealership, and immediately my car said low tire pressure. When I went back to ask what was happening they said oh you have a nail in the tire. This obviously happened IN THEIR SERVICE SHOP as i drove there without a nail in my tire but they insisted it didn't and I had to pay $250 for a new tire. 3) Incredibly poor customer service - The final straw just happened where I called to extend my lease, they put me on hold for 7 minutes then sent me to a full voicebox. I called back, a sales person answered and just said "sorry i cant help you you have to call corporate" and hung up before I could ask a single follow up question including the phone number. I don't know why KIA hires employee like Johnathon who doesn't provide customer any services, lied to me and didn't have any knowledge about KIA car and didn't even tried to resolve my issue. He only proves that he is an incompetent in his job. He is not only inconvenienced me, he also made me lost the trust that I have with KIA. The services department at this Kia location (at Colma, Ca) is the worst. I purchased my Kia there. i also spent several thousands of dollars purchased the extra maintenance warranty package (they strongly suggested it). They were very nice right after I bought my car. They even gave me a loaner car without any problem when I took it back for charging issue. Now two years in, the honeymoon is over. Last time when I took my car in early this year due to system gave me false alarm about change oil. The service agent didn't call me for when to pick up the car. I spent two hours tried to find out it was ready or not. This time, I took my car in due to the Apple CarPlay was not working anymore. I called the Service Dept and they told me to bring it in for them to check. I did. The appointment was 9:15 AM. I went there around 9 AM. Keep in mind that their service man just sits inside the office, you have to go inside to let them know that you are there. They don't stand outside to check you in when you drive up to their driveway like other car dealer places. I went to Johnathon because he was free. The other agent was busy with customer. Letting him know why I was there. The 1st thing he told me was they might not able to fix CarPlay issue. Its hit and miss thing. I might have to call Consumers Affair about it. it didn't sound like a responsible customer service attitude to me. It sounded like he just wanted to brush off the whole warranty I bought. I told him that I don't think I should call the consumer affair, Kia Service Dept should call if needs to. Only then, he started to check me in. I told him that I will get off work by 3:30 PM, if he can call me before that time so I know when to pick up the car. He said he will. He didn't call. I waited until 3:30, still no call from him. I called the customer service; she transferred me to him but no answer. I left a msg asked him to call back. No call back. I called again; the customer service was nice enough to check it for me. she came back and told me that the car will not be ready until 5:30 pm. When my ride was approaching the Kia location, that was the 1st time I heard an alert from Kia app that someone opened my car door. I have the Kia app. which alerts me every time when my car door is opened or charge is completed or other matters. But the entire day there was no alert about anyone opened my car door. This meant that they didn't even move my car the whole day until 4 PM. Johnnathon didn't send my car to the Service Department until 4 PM. I saw my car was just sitting there and no one was working on it. Johnathon was not there when I arrived. I spoke to the other agent and he told me that it required system download which will take a whole day to download. Johnathon never mentioned anything about system download in the morning. I asked if he was sure the they were doing the download already. He said yes but he doesn't know how much longer it will be. He said to come back after 30 minutes. I went back One hour later; Johnathon was there so the other agent told me to talk to Johnathon. Johnathon told me that I have to bring my car back to them again because they didn't have time to download the system. I said I brought my car there since 9 AM. He said they tried other ways 1st but couldn't fix it until 3 PM. I knew he was lying and he was very good at it. But there is no guaranty it will be fixed within one day. I said I will need a loaner car in case it will take more then a day. He said they don't have loaner car; there are 6 people on the waiting list. I told him to put my name on it list so he can let me know when it is my turn. I don't know if he added my name on the list or not. I also doubt that he will notify me when it is my turn. At this point, I don't trust him at all. He also told me to get a Apple cable. I asked him if he tried it with Apple cable. He said they don't have Apple cable. How could he tell me that if he didn't use Apple cable to proof that was the problem. My current cable was working for CarPlay before until two weeks ago so, I know it is not because my cable prlblem. read more

Amazing deals on EVs. I have driven more than most human beings (lol) and I've driven many different types of cars. I was worried about switching from a sporty Lexus hybrid to a Kia but the drivability is excellent and the new features keep us so safe. Service with Alvaro for a part replacement was easy peasy. I bought a new car on New Years eve. I only had approximately 500 mileage at the time. I showed my concern to Mike of DentX (serramonte kia dealership car body guy) A tiny lil paint chipping (photo attached) without any impact or accident. The paint was just coming off or chipping. The other one is a straight line discoloration white mark (approximately 2 inches) on the driver side corner plastic bumper, in front of tires (photo attached) Again, no impact or any accident nor dent or damage There were no misuse or driving over a curb or hitting anything. The 3rd one was a approximately 2-3 inch smudge or water stain on the rear black piano mirror finish on the bottom part or rear windshield (photo attached) Mike DentX stated that I should buy a paint pen and clay bar the car and do it myself. But I just bought the car, and I'm trained to fight the terrorist and enforce law but not to fix or apply vehicle paint and clay bar a car. Mike suggested to me that I should reach out to Kia dealership and Kia America for warranty. The dealership customer service instructed me to call Kia America. I called Kia America 3 times and spoke to 3 customer service representative. Two of them instructed me to bring it to the dealership where I bought, and that the paint warranty still covers my vehicle. They ever gave me any case number. The other one stated that the kia paint warranty never existed (ridiculous). She gave me case #17024193. I think the person that gave me a case number was not a very knowledgeable person. I don't think she knows what she's talking about. "The Kia paint warranty covers paint damage for the first three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This warranty covers non-impact damage, such as discoloration, chipping, cracking, and fading. What's covered? Non-impact damage: The warranty covers paint damage from non-impact causes, such as discoloration, chipping, cracking, and fading Paint application defects: The warranty covers defects like overspray, low gloss, and runs. Kia also offers a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty program that includes a limited powertrain warranty, a limited basic warranty, and a limited anti-perforation warranty" I've been back and forth at the dealership. Finally, I was able to get an appointment with the Serramonte dealership service department. The serramonte service staff checked the issues but never took care of it. Service personnel tried to take care by themselves instead of sending me to the professional body shops and use the warranty to take care of the issues. They ended up scratching my car. The service guy stated that they can't do anything about. And in regards to paint chip, service guy said that I should ask sales personnel or department to take care of the paint chip or provide me a paint pen and do it myself because in the first place they sold the car to you with the paint chip. On Feb 7, 2025, I reached out to the salesperson. He said he'll speak to the kia sales management and will contact me for further instructions. As of today it's already March 5, 2025. Never heard from them. So technically the dealership refused to use the warranty. This is not right and just! They sold me a messed up new car. Extremely Disappointed - I Will Never Choose Kia Again I leased a brand-new Kia Seltos less than two years ago, thinking it would be a safe and reliable car for a busy mom like me. But one night, without warning or any dashboard alerts, the car suddenly stalled on the highway. It was a scary and dangerous experience. I had the car towed to the dealership's service center, where it ended up sitting for ten full days--and during that entire time, no one contacted me about what was going on. I left multiple messages, including two voicemails, but no one ever called me back. I couldn't believe how difficult it was to reach someone. They also never offered a loaner car. I had to ask a friend for help just to have a vehicle to get through my daily responsibilities. To make matters even more frustrating--after my part finally arrived, someone from the service department actually called me and asked, "When are you planning to bring your car in?" I was stunned. My car had already been sitting at the dealership for over a week. This just shows the complete lack of internal communication, not only between departments but also with customers. Nobody had any idea what was going on. Out of desperation, I went to the dealership in person. The service rep I finally found told me, "We're too busy," and that if I didn't want to wait, I could go to another dealer. That was the most dismissive response I've ever received as a customer. Later, a customer service manager emailed me twice, and for a moment, I thought someone was finally going to help. But then--nothing. The conversation went nowhere. No explanation, no accountability, no resolution. To make matters worse, I had already written a review about this experience--but it was mysteriously deleted. I can't believe my honest feedback was erased. So here I am again, sharing my story, because people deserve to know the truth before choosing Kia. This entire situation was unacceptable. Once this lease is up, I will never consider Kia again. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through what I did. Scammed at Lease Buyout - Hidden Fees, Broken Promises, and No Support I came to Serramonte Kia on June 14, 2025, to buy out my 2022 Kia at the end of my 3-year lease. My lease agreement clearly states (Section 9) that the buyout price should be $21,921 + $300 purchase option fee - a total of $22,221. But when I met with salesperson Spencer Chase, he told me I had to pay $26,914 instead almost $5,000 more than what was written in the contract. He claimed the manufacturer's warranty or insurance could not be transferred and that I was required to buy it again. This extra charge of $4,693 was never disclosed during the lease signing and is not in the contract. I've uploaded two photos as evidence: 1. The lease contract clearly showing the agreed buyout price. 2. A written quote from the dealership showing the new inflated amount they demanded. This felt like a scam. They refused to honor the contract, and I was given no clear explanation or options. I was shocked, frustrated, and confused. In the end, I left the dealership without buying the car, feeling totally lost and unsure of what to do next. I'm posting this review to warn others - if you're leasing from Serramonte Kia, especially dealing with Spencer Chase, be extremely careful. Ask in writing about every cost related to the buyout before you sign a lease. Don't assume the dealer will follow what's written in the contract. To the Yelp community: Has this happened to you? Did you face hidden fees or warranty charges at lease-end? Any advice on what steps I can take? Repeated attempts to pick up the key and hours waiting in their lobby were to no avail. Now service is no longer open on weekends so I'll never be able to pick up the key I paid for in 2025. Took my fiancées KIA Stinger for a factory recall. The said 1200 for the part. Called KIA Corporate who call the service manager. He did not return the call . Called KIA corporate again. They contacted the service manager again. KIA corporate called payback and said they had ordered to part. Even after they got the part they would not replace the part. They said they would have to replace a lot of other non warranty parts because they were afraid that they Mika a file line if they replaced the fuel pump. Ended up taking the van to Putnam KIA in Burlingame. They replace the fuel pump under warranty. So in all went into KIA Serramonte's 3 times and the service was never performed So I post this review previously , But I went back to the parts department so I would not have to deal with the service department. Simple request I told the parts department that I needed spark plugs. They are for a 2018 2.0 Liter Stinger. He said what is the VIN . I said I am in my car I do not have it. He said it is on your insurance card I said it is not my car, it is insured by the owner. I just need spark plugs I used google to get the part # apparently this was too difficult par the parts department to do. He still refused to sell the spark plugs to me. So was he incompetent or just lying to me like Services's department. I do not trust these guys. If you need service find another dealership. Had to take it to a dealership for the factory recall, so could not take it a reputable mechanic for the factory recall I gave them 1 star because 0 starts was not an option ... Follow up The parts department could not figure out what spark plugs I needed but it was simple to order ORM spark plays from Amazon.
