Service Experience Left Safety Concerns I was initially excited about my 2025 Kia K5 and planned to keep it long term, but my service experience here left me uncertain about the vehicle's safety. After my first oil change at this location, the car developed an oil leak. Not long afterward, I began experiencing engine misfire, shaking under acceleration, loss of power, and a 12-volt battery drain issue. When I brought the car back, the service department acknowledged the misfire and mentioned the possibility of internal engine issues, but only performed a coil swap and released the car without performing a full diagnostic evaluation (compression test, leak-down test, injector test, etc.). The symptoms continued, and at that point, I no longer felt confident driving the vehicle -- especially because I was recovering from a major medical procedure and could not risk a loss of power on the road. I ultimately traded the vehicle in sooner than planned because the issues didn't feel fully resolved. I genuinely hope future cases of this nature are handled with more thorough follow-up. Safety and peace of mind are important, and I wish things had gone differently. read more

5 Star service for the service department the day after Christmas! Family of 6, our Telluride shut off on the 80 before the Bay Bridge. We survived by a miracle but we were pretty sure it was the alternator as we got a new battery 2 months ago. This was Xmas Eve. I got a hold of the service department at opening on Dec 26 and the manager Wilson was extremely helpful. He checked to ensure they had the part (they did) and I towed it to Kia Serramonte. They have the part but they were booked solid for the next 2 days. Well, I'm stranded in SF w/o it (we're coming from LA). Dwayne, one of the specialist agents helped me and they did inspected it and indeed it was the alternator. Dwayne, Wilson, and the crew there got us in and out same day, even though they were booked solid for days. And it was all covered under standard warranty. When I picked up the car I was ensured the service was done and the car was ready and safe to drive.The next morning I took a drive to Vacaville Ca. about 60 miles away to my 2nd home . On the drive up the check engine light came on for oil. I called to inform the service dep. and they ensured me it could just need a system reset. When I pulled the car into my NEW DRIVE WAY.! fresh concrete! oil was gushing out! it appeared the car had lost all of its oil. I was now stranded with 3 kids in the car and drove the car with this major oil leak and NO KNOWLEDGE OF IT. NO SAFE AT ALL! The car had to be towed back to kia service dep. and upon inspection they determined the person who serviced my car DID NOT place the oil filter back on! He also did not tighten the oil bracket. So BASICALLY it was a death trap ! They blamed this on human error, horribal excuse. This could have cost me a whole new car and not to mention MY LIFE! if i would have drove any longer the damage could have been detrimental! out of all of this my driveway is ruined and I was offered a free car detail and new side mirror. That I had a hard time booking an appointment for. No one has been in contact with me , I had to make several calls into the service department hunting down the promise that was made to me. This is part two of my review of Kia, regarding the cap that they knew did not match my vin# and forced it on anyway. I went to have it removed and get a refund. The staff could not help me because they could not find my invoice and the manager was not on site. Given that they have very little knowledge of anything, I waited for at least 30 minutes before I got to speak to anybody and was told they didn't have my information and asked for my invoice number. Youd think it's a very simple ask and I'd be out rather quickly. I wasted two hours. Nobody knew what was happening. About 45 minutes in they took my car around back and told me that they would have the cap removed. It took 3 minutes for them to shove it on and I waited for about 2 hours total. I got so fed up I went back to speak to a tech, to find my car unattended And on! Just wasting my charge ! When I asked the tech for an ETA, he said "I know nothing about that car" Given he was the only one there I told him what I needed done and then I needed it done now and I had to assist him with the removal of the cap. It took no less than two minutes upon trying to leave. I realize they lost my car key. Usually they leave it in the car. I'm not sure what the deal is with my car but they lost my car key and three staff members had to look for it for five minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. No apology no acknowledgment of the wasted time because of their incompetence. I have nothing else to add to this because I think this interaction speaks for itself on Kia serramonte, customer service, and quality of service. No need for another generic response. There is nothing you can do to make this better. read more

Just gave birth to my first baby and wanted to get the 2025 White Kia Carnival 8 seater. Walked into Serramonte Kia and I was immediately greeted by Jullian. Unfortunately there were no white Carnivals, but Jullian was able to order what I wanted. Stock was limited so I had to wait for it to be delivered from Korea. The new 2025 Kia Carnival is a highly sought out van so I was surprised that Jullian was able to keep this reserved for me. I truly appreciate his loyalty towards me. He made the whole buying process so easy and at the price I wanted. He also gets extra points for staying after his shift to make sure I get through finance and personally delivering the car all the way to Hercules the next day!
