Very disappointing experience. I went to the Mazda San Francisco location today because I was genuinely interested in purchasing an Audi. After arriving and seeing the vehicle in person, I noticed several issues that were not disclosed on the online listing and were not visible in the photos. There was noticeable damage on the passenger side around the rear door area, additional damage near both the front and rear passenger-side wheels, and one of the high-beam headlights was not working. What made this even more concerning was that the Carfax report did not show any accident or damage history related to these issues. I explained to the salesperson that none of these problems appeared to be disclosed on their website or shown clearly in the listing photos. I was still interested in the vehicle and asked if they could work with me on the price considering the actual condition of the car. The used car sales manager then came over. Instead of trying to find a reasonable solution or work with us on the price, we were simply told that the issues would not be fixed and there was no real effort to accommodate us. The most frustrating part is that we made the trip specifically to see this vehicle based on how it was represented online. Had these issues been properly disclosed beforehand, we could have made an informed decision before spending our time going there. I understand that used vehicles can have cosmetic imperfections, but noticeable damage in multiple areas and a non-working high beam should be clearly disclosed to potential buyers, especially when those issues are not reflected in the Carfax report or clearly visible in the online listing. Overall, I felt that our time was wasted, and the way the situation was handled by management made the experience even more disappointing. If you're considering making a trip here to purchase a vehicle, I would think twice and make sure you ask detailed questions about the vehicle's actual condition before going. read more

Today, I brought my car in for its 30,000-mile service and asked the team to check three issues: the driver's ventilated seat not cooling, the passenger's heated seat not working, and a strange noise coming from the transmission. The employee at reception was friendly but explained that I would need to authorize a $335 diagnostic fee for each issue for a potential total of $1,005 before any repairs. I was extremely disappointed. Avoiding this kind of situation was precisely why I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from an authorized dealership. I find this practice extremely disappointing. As a result, I decided not to have my car serviced there, and I will not purchase another vehicle from this dealership. Being asked to authorize over $1,000 just to investigate three issues is difficult to accept, especially when one could potentially be something as simple as a fuse. The dismissive attitude of the person overseeing the service team only made the experience worse. read more

AVOID this place if your car is not under warranty or if it's not being services for free. Otherwise, they charge exorbitant prices. Instead, find a local mechanic who can deal with Mazda cars for air filter replacement, coolant exchange, etc. (See the images attached) I was changed $1000 in labor charges while the cost of the products used was $500. A local mechanic might've charged me $300-$500 for all of these services including installation (lost over $1000). Who charges $200 for coolant exchange when the coolant itself is $29??? They also don't wash your car before returning as it's SF. So just avoid this place unless they are charging $0 (you'e car is under warranty) read more

This dealership is wildly expensive- substantially more than the other ones in the Bay Area that I've been to. They charged me $240 for an oil change for my Miata with no tire rotation, no car wash, and they informed me no "brake inspection" because I wasn't going to pay for a tire rotation. By comparison, the Sunnyvale Mazda charges $159 for the same service. I also made an appointment for 1130, and they quoted me a 1-2 hour waiting period over the phone, but then when I arrived they said that it wouldn't be done until 4pm (4+ hours). They mentioned that they're the only location that didn't wash your car after service. read more

This review goes to my service experience at SF Mazda for my Miata. Huge shout out to service Advisor Julio- he listened to all my concerns and made sure things are executed the way my car deserves. I emphasized to be very careful with the paint and he noted that down on the work order form with color pen and highlighted the statement. He understands the love I have for my car and advocated for the level of service it deserves. I wanted to make sure I get a new gasket (amongst other details) with the oil change and Julio ensured. The other advisors Randy and Jose were very friendly as well. Brad the tech was very thorough and thoughtful. I received a video of a walkthrough of the service process/ procedure and Brad provided detailed and thoughtful commentary- highlighted that things are torqued to factory recommended spec, the car was properly mounted (rocker panels not touching the mount), that I got that new gasket, just mentioning the details in each step of the service, really showing there is care. This is the type of service I expect of any car. People treating your car like it's theirs (or as close to that as possible). I recommend Royal Auto's Mazda service! read more

I just bought my 3rd Mazda, this time at Mazda SF, and can say without a doubt that this was the most pleasant experience I've ever had at a dealership. Buying a car is a weird experience where you spend about 5 hours with a complete stranger, which can be painfully awkward. Reiden Matsuhara was a pleasure to work with - he was attentive and invested in helping us find the car we wanted, without being pushy or aggressive. He patiently drove us to the other side of the city to view the CX-90s we were interested in, and then brought us back to the dealership to walk us through the numbers.
