I've been meaning to write this review for a long time. My Ford F-150 Lightning was involved in an accident that caused significant damage to the front end. The bumper was torn apart, the headlight assembly and surrounding bodywork were heavily damaged, and the front corner of the truck was basically ripped open. Looking at it immediately after the accident, it was pretty painful to see. They brought it completely back to life. What impressed me most was that this wasn't a simple vehicle or a simple repair. The F-150 Lightning is a sophisticated EV with cameras, sensors, electronics, lighting systems, and driver-assistance equipment integrated throughout the front of the truck. I wanted the repair handled by someone who understood that putting a vehicle like this back together correctly involves a lot more than replacing a bumper and matching the paint. The entire process ended up taking about six weeks, largely because of parts shortages and delays getting components from Ford. Throughout that time, the shop was easy to work with, communicated with me, and handled the insurance side of the repair so I wasn't stuck trying to coordinate everything myself. When parts were delayed, they worked through it rather than cutting corners just to get the truck out the door faster. And the end result speaks for itself. You would never know from looking at the truck today what that front corner looked like after the accident. The body panels line up properly, the bumper and trim look right, the lighting was restored, the paint matches beautifully, and the entire front end looks like it did before the accident. After seeing how badly damaged the truck was, getting it back looking this good was honestly remarkable. If you need ordinary body work, I'm sure they can handle it. But where I would especially recommend this shop is if you have a newer or more sophisticated vehicle--particularly an EV--with significant collision damage and you want someone you can trust to put it back together correctly. My F-150 Lightning went in looking wrecked and came back looking like my truck again. I couldn't ask for much more than that. Long overdue five-star review. Highly recommended. read more

Some say "honest mechanic" is a contradiction in terms. KSH proves otherwise. Kirill and his team set the bar for honesty--from refunding the cost of a part that already came with another kit (no prompting necessary) to offering up a free alignment after I had my rear struts changed--because they didn't ask if I wanted it. Their work is competent. And at a $175/hr shop rate with services charged by the book, you know what you are paying up front. I'm glad to have found my new go-to shop. read more

No appointment needed, just bring your car by. When I got to KSH, the shop was stuffed full of cars. I thought there's no way I'd get my tire fixed. The manager, Max, got me into the shop right away (no waiting!) and I got my tire repaired immediately. I was in and out in 15 minutes! The price was right ($25) and I'm forever grateful and thankful to KSH Automotive. What a great way to make a new customer! I was an idiot and let my Kia run out the oil completely. The dealer said I needed a total engine rebuild, and I called around to some shops. After talking to a few shops about installing a new (used) engine, I decided to go with KSH. Kirill was thorough in his explanation of the steps of buying a salvaged engine to get installed, including detailed inspection of the new (used) engine before installation. He recommended replacing the thermostat and water pump while we were in there, and rear main seal and front crankshaft seal. "Let's do everything so hopefully you won't need any more repairs for at least 5 years" was his line. The price was fair, definitely cheaper than the dealer, so I took the leap. I put out a request to get a quote on Yelp for a car diagnostic. I got many responses with wildly high cost but KSH owner responded with the best quote and convenience of being downtown. I got quoted for 65$ but since it was just simple issue I got charged a fraction of the quote. The service was quick and professional. The owner seems to be honest and friendly individual. Def recommend. Located lower nob hill by the tenderloin. You had to drive up to their second floor garage but the street wasn't very busy during the time. This is the second time I have used KSH Automotive for maintenance of my 2019 Volvo XC60. I had the identical extremely positive experience as I did 3 years ago. At 60K I had a list of several services - tire rotation, alignment, brake fluid, transmission fluid, coolant fluid, pollen and air filter, wiper replacement and oil change. It wasless than $1000 and competed in a day. I do not what Volvo would have charged but their oil change is over $200. Kirill gladly accepted OEM parts I had purchased from eBay Motors. For whatever reason every year I drive my car into SF from Iowa and something major happens to my dang car. I had to quickly find someone to repair my car last year bc a huge rock came out of a truck and I barely missed it but ended up driving over something which destroyed the undercarriage of my car. They repaired in within 2 days. Had a semi hit the drivers side when it was parked and I had to get that fixed, I digress, someone tried and failed to jack my car and busted my window and destroyed the key ignition. KSH automotive repair replaced by rack and pinion steering for my 2005 Toyota Camry and they not only did a quick efficient and professional job, but they also were a pleasure to do business with. First off they did a $65 diagnostic examination of my vehicle, which is about $60 cheaper than everywhere else. They got back to me Within a few hours, He quoted me a price hundreds of dollars less than my former mechanic. They called me about 24 hours and told me the car was repaired. They made some decisions about a few extra parts that should be replaced with the repair and even showed me the parts that were removed from my vehicle to back up their judgment. They were professional and helpful From start to finish and I feel very fortunate that I "discovered" them Here on yelp. They are located in the Tenderloin, On the second floor but I was able to get in and out promptly before and after my repair. This is the second time I have used KSH Automotive and I can attest that they know what they are doing. I went to start my car one morning and absolutely nothing happened. No cranking, no clicking, nothing. I did have lights so I knew it wasn't the battery. Checked the fuses and all of them were good. I called Kirill and explained the situation to him. He said it might need a new starter. I had to get it towed into his shop. I knew that getting my car up the ramp would be just about impossible. However, he told me that he's moved to a new location. When my car arrived at his new shop, I was thrilled to see that it was nice and big with a high ceiling. So high that the flat bed tow truck was able to back into the shop with my car. That was important because my car wouldn't start. So now it was up to Max, the master mechanic, to diagnose the problem. This wasn't an easy fix because his scan tool wasn't communicating with the car. Needless to say, it took a while to get to the root problem. Turns out, it needed a fuel rail, a fuel injector and an ECM. When Max was done fixing my "Baby" she ran better than she's ever run. In addition, I'm now getting an 100 extra miles per tank full of gas per fill up. So, Max isn't just a mechanic, he's also some what of a magician to pull off this tremendous feat. My car has just as much power, but now it only sips gas. It idles and accelerates beautifully just like a thourobred race horse!!! Wow, what an outstanding job you did, Max, fixing my "love". Bottom line, you can trust KSH Automotive to attend to your car with the respect and attention to detail it deserves.
