Needed my tire plugged - they were super busy but decided to help me anyway. Highly recommend them for your car repairs. Seems like a good group of guys running the shop.

Finding a trustworthy mechanic while traveling can be stressful, but Stress-Free Auto Care truly…read morelived up to its name. While celebrating the Fourth of July weekend in San Francisco, I hit a severe pothole that caused a major coolant leak. Since it was a Sunday, most repair shops were closed. Fortunately, Stress-Free Auto Care was open and able to get me in. To make matters more complicated, my tow company kept changing the ETA, forcing me to reschedule my appointment several times. The team was incredibly understanding, flexible, and accommodating throughout the process. What impressed me most was their communication and transparency. They performed a comprehensive digital vehicle inspection and sent detailed photos and short videos explaining exactly what they found. Instead of simply handing me a repair estimate, they showed me the condition of each component, explained why certain repairs were recommended, and prioritized what needed immediate attention versus what could wait. As a customer, that level of honesty builds confidence. The pricing was fair, there was never any pressure to approve additional work, and every interaction with the staff was professional and consistent. You can tell the entire team shares the same customer-first mindset. If you're looking for a modern auto repair shop that combines excellent customer service with technology to keep customers informed, I highly recommend Stress-Free Auto Care on McAllister. Whether you're a San Francisco local or just passing through like I was, they're a shop you can trust. I'll definitely return for future maintenance.

I was told they were good parts and it must be because I live by the beach. I didn't replace them fast forward 3 weeks and i talked to Miguel about a quote. He told me they have a warranty that covers 24 months or 20somethingthousand miles and my brakes shouldn't wear out that fast, potentially a manufacturer defect and would see if even though I was outside the window if they would honor. Really kind guy trying to earn back my trust and build a loyal customer. I get a message from him later that week that because I was outside the 24 months window and the parts were good, that they could only offer a small discount. Miguel went to bat for me 3 weeks too late, not his fault, but the whole thing just felt shitty. Really wanted to love this place, but between here and the Geary location, I just don't trust them. Don't necessarily think any of my experience at McCallister were explicitly malicious, maybe just careless. I think they are doing a lot of things right, but reputation is everything, and after two tries I can't be an advocate.
