They had me bring the car back for a more thorough inspection, sent over the brake photos and documentation I had requested, and replaced the front brake pads and rotors at no charge. They also provided a few additional goodwill services during the follow-up visit. The initial experience was frustrating and took more back-and-forth than it should have, so I can't call the overall experience perfect. But I do want to give credit where it's due: the owner and team took my concerns seriously, followed through, and handled the follow-up professionally. Updating this to 4 stars to reflect how they ultimately resolved the situation.

We do hook it up to a trickle charge but this time the trickle charger came undone and our 10 year old battery died and went to heaven. We had some contact with Joseph, the owner, years ago when he advised us that it would be unwise getting brakes and a clutch for our 1991 Miata. Thank you. Someone focused on what is wise for me. We got a newer car, a 2015 FIT, Steeler yellow. This time, we needed a battery. I priced them at the usual spots and even, at Joseph's suggestion, tried to price them at Costco. Hayes Auto Repair's price was lower and I was confident from our discussion that he would get me the right kind of battery for our car and our driving habits. Relatively speaking, it was a tiny sale. And Hayes Auto Repair always has tons of customers for repair and/or body work. But service is so friendly and efficient and most of all HONEST. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

While celebrating the Fourth of July weekend in San Francisco, I hit a severe pothole that caused a major coolant leak. Since it was a Sunday, most repair shops were closed. Fortunately, Stress-Free Auto Care was open and able to get me in. To make matters more complicated, my tow company kept changing the ETA, forcing me to reschedule my appointment several times. The team was incredibly understanding, flexible, and accommodating throughout the process. What impressed me most was their communication and transparency. They performed a comprehensive digital vehicle inspection and sent detailed photos and short videos explaining exactly what they found. Instead of simply handing me a repair estimate, they showed me the condition of each component, explained why certain repairs were recommended, and prioritized what needed immediate attention versus what could wait. As a customer, that level of honesty builds confidence. The pricing was fair, there was never any pressure to approve additional work, and every interaction with the staff was professional and consistent. You can tell the entire team shares the same customer-first mindset. If you're looking for a modern auto repair shop that combines excellent customer service with technology to keep customers informed, I highly recommend Stress-Free Auto Care on McAllister.
